28 Chapter 28- 20th Floor Test

Many regulars could be seen gathering around a big hall, they were the 20th floor test participants. Many of them were veterans and only some of them were new faces. Something like this happened very often because of the difficulty of the test so many regulars had to try many times before they could succeed.

For the record, the difficulty was set to be like that to separate those who were worthy and the useless ones.

After all, if anybody could become an E-ranked regular, what would make them special to even deserve certain special treatments, such as being able to live in the middle area and work there and unlike those unraked regulars who were sent back to their hometowns?

"Hey, I heard some rumors that a team made up of very strong regulars and a Zahard princess is on the floor. Aren't you worried that we will bump up with them in the test?" A regular asked his teammate who had a floating cubic near him.

"Hmm?" The light bearer pondered for a while and responded. "That's old news, don't worry I have checked the information and found that they have been staying here for a while."

"Hahaha, are you chickening out because of some princess of Zahard, Arnold? I guess you haven't really changed since the floor of tests." A regular with Mohawk mocked them loudly.

"Unlike you guys, going up the tower believing in camaraderie and covering each other's asses. We don't make weak excuses and only team up with strong members!" He spoke with derision as he spread out his hands.

"It's you, bastard! I didn't expect to meet you and see your disgusting face here. Let's see if you can still survive with your backstabbing teammates!"

"You are still an idiot, huh? Anyone who wants to climb the tower has to possess a good awareness. If your teammate managed to backstab you, isn't it your own mistake to put your guard down?"

"If you go up the tower sticking with those worthless burdens since you can trust them after some bonding, you will regret it." He smirked.

"Anyway, see you later. If you can survive this test, that is." He walked away, waving his hands.

The rowdy situation among the regulars lasted for a while as the veterans meet their acquaintances until a tall man with horns appeared. Seeing the aura emanating from him and the badge on his clothes, they quickly shut up their mouths.

The test director had appeared!

"Welcome regulars! It seems that you are really eager to take the test this time. I can't say that you are lucky or unlucky to take the test on this day. Because due to a certain issue, we have to change the test… drastically." The Ranker squinted his eyes at them when he said the last sentence.

Seeing the confused faces of the regulars, he continued. "You must have heard some rumors that an incredible team consisting of a princess of Zahard has arrived on this floor. That rumor is true, they are indeed on this floor, and… they decided to take the test today."

Murmurs and whispers suddenly were heard among the regulars. Hearing the rumor and experiencing it in person was different. Many of them were nervous, a princess of Zahard was not a joke.

A princess of Zahard could single-handedly defeat a strong team. Their physical strength was thousand times that of a normal person, and also not to mention the incredible shinsu resistance that she possessed.

The Ranker saw this and smiled. "We have examined their capabilities and saw that they are beyond your level. That's why, to balance the test, we came up with something else and changed the test. It's simple, all of you will face them together."

Without waiting for their response he continued. "If you manage to last more than five minutes against them, you will instantly pass the test. Without further ado, let's get into it!"

He snapped his fingers as he and the regulars instantly disappeared from the spot. They reappeared in a big circular arena with many rows of long chairs surrounding it, similar to the roman colosseum.

The Ranker was sitting on the front row with a white-haired man carrying a sword, most likely another fellow Ranker.

"Which one do you think will win, wanna make a bet? I'll bet against those regulars." The test director smiled as he asked his colleague.

"Are you pulling my legs? Of course, they will win ten out of ten." The white-haired Ranker sneered, not falling to his ridiculous bait as he pointed to the other side of the colosseum, where three people were standing casually.

"Their power is unlike their peers, especially the princess. It's as if she is a small killer whale living in a river with many little fish, she is invincible in that environment."

"I actually have heard about her some time ago. Different from your usual princesses of Zahard, it's not her physical attribute that makes her stand out from the rest, it's her talent. After all, she manages to learn our sword." The white-haired man said with a solemn tone.

"Oh, I almost forget that you are an Arie. What's so special about learning your family sword style? Don't get me wrong, Arie Sword Style is certainly strong but almost all of the descendants from the Arie family can use it anyway." The test director asked curiously.

"Well, you might not understand it since you are not an Arie, however, our sword can't just be learned by anyone. If not, why no other swordsman from the Arie family learns it?" Explained the Ranker.

"Our sword is exclusive only to our family… that should be have been the case yet, she managed to learn it. Of course, she can't use it to its true potential since she isn't an Arie." The white-haired Ranker spoke with a proud smile.

The test director nodded as it dawned on him. "I see… no wonder you are interested to see it. You really want to see whether she can actually perform your family sword, huh? To even suggest this ridiculous test. You, Aries, are truly proud of your heritage and sword."

"Well, I simply hope they can force her to use it. If they can't do it even with their numbers, they aren't fit to become E-ranked regulars yet, against a Zahard princess or not. If they can force her, we will pass them. As simple as that." The white-haired Ranker spoke with cold, indifferent voice.
