204 Chapter 204- Finishing The Journey Part 2

After a couple of days of constant slaughter, Liu Guanyi had finally crossed the wilderness and the region around it. They had came across a few villages and another small town. And unsurprisingly, all of them, without exception, were overruned by the parasites.

Just from this, Liu Guanyi could understand how grave and terrible the situation was for the local people. Although the parasites were in no way strong with their feeble body and all, they were extremely dangerous.

Their ability to propagate was incredible.

From what they had observed so far, in each host, a parasite could reproduce a few to dozens of its kind. The bigger the host was, the more the parasites could reproduce themselves to spread more infection and in turn, reproduce even more of their numbers.

However, not only that, their ability to mind control their hosts was terrifying, extremely so.

To infect a host, the parasite would only need to enter into a creatures' body, usually from their body cavities. Then, afterward, it would slowly but surely increase its control over its host and when it already controlled its host, it would begin to reproduce.

According to Liu Guanyi's observations to the the infected rabbits and squirrels, the symptoms of the parasite infection would begin to appear after two to three days. And from there, the parasite's control would gradually increase.

The parasites' mind control ability was exquisite.

They didn't even need the host's brain at all to control the host's action. That was why, even when the host's head was crushed, the parasite could still control its host with ease, which also enabled the parasites to control their host from any part of the host's body, making them able to survive and escape if their hosts' were about to be destroyed by another creature.

But what made Liu Guanyi regard them as terrifying was their mind control ability itself.

Mind control, as the name suggested, it was an ability to be able to manipulate other creatures completely to one's will, quite similar to what an Anima was capable of, but was actually something entirely different.

Animas' control of Shinheuh coerction or subjugation rather than manipulation. Also, an Anima could only control animals and Shinheuh and not humans or humanoids while mind control could affect all creatures regardless of their species.

In the case of the parasite, even if the creatures didn't have brains, Liu Guanyi was confident that it could still mind control them as the parasite's control wasn't related to their hosts brain at all.

And now, imagine that this parasite could be controlled, at least, hopefully, to some extent.

With this, Liu Guanyi was sure that he could create his own infected army!

They would require no resoruces or supply at all to sustain, unlike ordinary army. And most importantly, they also didn't need morale and knew no fear nor conscience. Hence, no matter what, they wouldn't break down under pressure.

And not just an army, but they could also serve as free slaves and manpower that wouldn't tire and always work ceaselessly. This would make him able to build anything with super speed and with almost no costs, that would help him build his forces later on.

Or if Liu Gaunyi was a little bit more creative, he could use the parasites to spread chaos or control his enemies by spreading them to infect his enemies. From what he had obtained in his observation, the parasites could infect anyone regardless of their power.

As long as the parasites could enter into their hosts' bodies and had free reign, they would be able to completely control their hosts' actions. While Liu Guanyi was sure that he was immune to it due to the inner energy in his body that could kill any parasites, the others weren't.

For example, Xin and also Adori.

That was right, Liu Guanyi was sure that if Adori was infected by the parasite, she wouldn't be able to resist it. Well, she might be able to resist in the beginning with sheer willpower and her powerful constitution. But in the end, she would still succumb to the parasite's control.

Unless those who were infected by the parasites were treated and had the parasites inside their bodies removed in time before they were completely succumb to their mind control, there was no escaping this deadly parasite.

In simple terms, this slimly parasite was an extremely deadly biological weapon that could affect ninety nine percent of the tower's population, even High Rankers, given that the parasites could enter inside their bodies.

As long as Liu Guanyi could weaponize them, he would hold a very powerful weapon that could become a very useful tool in his hands. That was why, he was interested in researching this particular parasite.

Unfortunately, although the parasites were quite intelligent, they were still not that intelligent compared to normal humans and could only control their hosts to do very basic actions such as attacking other creatures and spread more infection

But all of these thoughts were for later. Right now, he had to focus on the task at hand.

So, Liu Guanyi pulled the local map that he got from the merchant and compared the surrounding area to the image drawn on the map.

"… Hmm, so we are already pretty close to the lake."

"How long it will take us to arrived there?" Adori asked him calmly.

"Just around a few hours, we have almost reached the periphery of the great lake."

"Finally, I am already quite tired traveling all day and only fighting weak, worthless enemies. We all need some challenge right, Mr. Liu?" Xin spoke with a grin sported on his face.

He was already bored dealing with countless infected Shinheuh that attacked them along their way and wanted to fight something much more stronger.

"Well, if what the information that was given to us and what we got ourselves weren't wrong, this place should be the origin where the parasites started to spread. In your scientific fancy words, it's the so-called ground zero." Replied Liu Guanyi with a casual smile.

'Alright, let's go." Adori urged as she stepped down from Little White.

"Let's see what those scheming old bastards have in store for us."
