The plan continues

After they finished eating, they went through the storage rings of the dead bodies. They were filled with low level healing pills, basic cultivation pills, and elemental pills.

Lin Kai and Hao Ran decided to split everything again. Lin Kai just wanted the elemental pills beside the fires boosting pills, while Hao Ran took everything else including the fire boosting pills.

Lin Kai stayed in the cave for a day before breaking the entrance and setting out on another expedition.

They headed west to leave the forest and then headed north. After resting for a couple of days at a small town that had nothing of use, they headed east towards a city that was on the map.

After a couple more days of running and resting, they finally arrived. Unlike those small towns, this city had its name carved on a pedestal right next to it. 'Bright night city', it was named after the moon that shined brightly in the location where the city was built. It was way bigger then all the towns they've been to.

Lin Kai and Hao Ran entered the city and looked for an inn. Once they finally found one they booked a room for a couple of nights. They also bought some food and wine while listening to the conversations in the inn.

"Hey, have you heard about the young master of the Tong family? He got accepted into the Underworld sect by taking the daily assessment!" A man who seemed skinny said.

"Man, I'm so jealous, I've tried to get into Underworld sect for so long now. I only have one year left till I'm to old to join." Another man said while sighing.

Lin Kai got up and walked to the table while Hao Ran looked. "Junior greets seniors. Would you mind telling me more about the daily assessment? I just came from a small village. I hope you can help me get into the Underworld sect." Lin Kai said while bowing down to them.

"Damn, he's going to kill them later." Hao Ran thought while finishing his cup of wine and pouring himself another cup of wine.

The two men looked at each other and starting laughing. "Hahaha, a kid like you wants to get into Underworld sect? I bet you can't even handle it there!" One of them said while they continued laughing.

Lin Kai replied, "If I do take the test and I was humiliated by not being qualified enough or talented enough, wouldn't you seniors be able to make jokes about me overstepping my boundaries?"

The two men thought for a second and nodded. "The test is being taken near a library, it's to the west of the city, you can't miss it." One of the guys said.

"Thank you seniors for passing down your knowledge to this junior. In return I have a treasure I picked up on my adventures. Giving it here wouldn't seem appropriate, please follow me." Lin Kai said and signaled the men to follow him.

The two men didn't think anything of it. Matter a fact, they thought he'd pull out a common item that Lin Kai thought was precious.

They followed him into an alley where he disappeared and appeared behind them. "You didn't expect this, did you. The best thing I can do for you now is give you a painless-I mean painful death." Lin Kai finished this sentence and pulled out a regular sword. He didn't take out his dragon sword in case a master in the city detected its aura.

"Hmph, you think such a weak sword can hurt us? We're earth roaming 3rd stage cultivators! I bet you haven't even surpassed the five basics with your age!" The skinny man said while laughing.

"Hahahahahaha, can you believe him? He actually thinks he can hurt us!" The other guy said.

"It's kind of a disappointment you haven't surpassed earth roaming realm yet with your age." Lin Kai said.

"Your both 23." Lin Kai said pointing at the both of them.

They were surprised that Lin Kai knew. They tried to say something else, but couldn't. They noticed something wrong with their throat and tongue. Their throats were badly damaged and their tongues were cut off. They quickly grabbed it and started rolling on the floor.

Lin Kai looked at them and said, "Don't you know it's bad manners when you interrupt me trying to torture you? If it was someone else it would've been okay. But not me!" Lin Kai looked at them menacingly.

After a few minutes passed Lin Kai returned to the in and sat next to Hao Ran. "Those are some good guys, they didn't even yell when I was torturing them." Lin Kai told Hao Ran.

Hao Ran nodded, "It seems that 'bright night cities' civilians are very well mannered once they understand the situation." Hao Ran replied.

They finished eating and went to there room, sleeping for the rest of the day.

Lin Kai woke up first and sat on the side of his bed and looked at the system. "Hey system, can you hide abilities?"

[Yes.] It was a simple reply but that was all that Lin Kai needed.

Lin Kai looked at Hao Ran and gave an evil smile. He took a regular sword and slapped Hao Ran awake with it using the flat side.

"Ow, stop, ow, I'm awake you bastard." Hao Ran jolted up and started to block the sword and finally grabbed it.

"Anyway, we can now finish our original plan. They have a daily recruitment in the city. You better get going now, and learn how to act to, make my death believable." Lin Kai told Hao Ran while giving him the life like doll of himself.

"It'll probably take about 13 days for me to get back to our sect. Also, we don't have any fake blood." Hao Ran told Lin Kai.

Lin Kai cut his arm and started to collect his blood in a big bottle until it was filled. "Here take this, this should be enough."

"Alright, have fun in Underworld sect, you traitor." Hao Ran said as he took the bottle and started to leave. "I'm gonna miss you, buddy. Make sure to not die." Hao Ran said under his breath.

Lin Kai stood still for a second before replying, "I'll miss you to, bud." As he saw Hao Ran leave through the door. "Hope to see you soon." Lin Kai thought even though he knew it was going to take a long time for them to meet again.

Even though Lin Kai and Hao Ran only met about a year ago, they were able to click together and become the best of friends.
