49 Massive

Though that week of travelling that Xilo mentioned quickly became two weeks instead. It turns out the information he had read before only meant if it was a straightforward shot completely. It never brought up all the obstacles in the way including things like a mountain or two and a river that was uncrossable for them and that wasn't even including Xilo's weakened state in the mix of it. With that all being said they ended up travelling together to get to Belturn on foot for close to three weeks almost. But finally after their long journey had escalated into a boring tedious travel time they finally stumbled across the sight of Belturn in the distance.

"Whew looks like we can take a short break finally, seems like Belturn is just up ahead."

"You're right I can see it pretty clearly from here."

Xelfia being the higher stage could see a lot better than Xilo so she was able to confirm his thoughts. In the Distance she could see a large stone outer wall that lined a massive area that she couldn't see the end off with some houses seemingly peeking over the edge a little bit. When comparing it to Tork it was simply a massive difference. Tork had a couple stone buildings for the most part around it if they were relatively important from what she saw and that Xilo mentioned when they were walking around town to leave. But for the most part most buildings in that town were made of wood and no giant wall stone wall protecting them like Belturn's and from what she could see over the tops of the said wall there were a lot of stone rooftops already alone.

"That looks like quite a big place, Are we sure this is the right town?"

"Yea, don't get too impressed by its size though, there's a lot bigger cities out there apparently. This is one of the small ones."

"Small ones...."

Hearing that made her slightly shudder. She knew the world was a big place especially over the past couple weeks when she had conversations with him and was learning new things but she severely underestimated how big it probably was and that made her scared. "How much more do I not know and how do I deal with such things." Were questions that pummeled her mind and forced her to reconsider some of her thoughts before when she finally got a wake up call. Just like Xilo she needed to learn and get stronger as well or else what was she going to do if anything happened to him.

Nothing.

That was something that made her incredibly scared. Being alone in such a big place with no one that she knew and all the people she could be afraid of and was, was simply terrifying.

"Hey, will we be able to get to the library by today?"

Being slightly caught off guard by that question Xilo slightly turned to look at her and noticed she seemed slightly pensive about something. Thankfully with them spending more time together he had gotten better at reading her and could somewhat tell what was on her mind sometimes. Though it wasn't perfect.

"Yea we should be able to, why?"

"I was just thinking about looking at some things as well there, that's all."

"Really? well if you need any help don't mind it and ask me I'll try my best."

He was slightly surprised in her asking such a thing but he didn't pay it too much mind because she was probably just a little curious and nothing more. Now that their break was finished they had more pressing matters to attend to and that was actually arriving at Belturn like he wanted.

With a slight stretch he started walking again.

"Come on we should hurry up, if not we might miss the chance today."

"Alright coming."

With that they continued to walk for a couple of hours more before they eventually spotted a dirt road that led up to the entrance gate presumably with quite a few people lined up in front of the entrance waiting.

"Looks like we're waiting."

Thankfully most gate entrance checks were pretty simple. All you needed to do was answer your name and town then put a Strand of your own Astral Energy into a card that would help serve as a proof of identification and if need be they could track people with the card. So you had to keep it on you at all times to help stop crimes. Though if you asked anyone who gave a damn. It didn't really help too much unless they were idiots or petty criminals.

Thankfully the process didn't take too long and they were able to finish it up relatively problem free except of course some of the looks people gave both of them. Some gave Xilo frightened looks while others Gawked at Xelfia but in the end no one bothered them. Though that might have had to do with Xelfia slightly leaking pressure around herself when she noticed them doing such things.

"Don't worry too much about it, it's bound to happen especially with how attractive you look. Better get used to it soon."

With a Slight laugh Xilo moved forward past the gate and entered Belturn for the first time with Xelfia after a slight pause behind him swiftly caught up.

"Holy...."

"People...."

The first sight that entered their eyes were columns upon columns of stone houses stacked next to each other that went on for as far as they could see with a huge road separating the two sides. But what filled those roads besides shops and vendors were people. It almost felt like even with all that space there still wasn't enough room with how many people there were.

"This might be more difficult than I'd thought"

"You think."

"Well no point pondering what to do, Just gotta push through it."

"I guess.."

With that they both started pushing forward. Though the whole time Xelfia kept her pressure up to dissuade any unwanted contact from either of them thankfully until they finally found the location Xilo mentioned for the library.
