74 The Darkest Knight... P.2

~ Omni Pov ~

Jin wandered through the shopping district of Metropolis City, looking for the perfect outfit for Harley.

'Why do I feel as if I'm being monitored...' Jin thought?

Jin continued browsing through the various clothing stores... yet, he couldn't help but feel as sense, like he was being watched... He shrugged it off, thinking that it was just his imagination, and continued to search for a decent store.

Little did he know, Batman and his team were already tracking him down. They had received news of Jin's recent kill on the Joker and had deemed him too dangerous to be left alone based on the information from Superman...

Not long after, commotion could be heard from the nearby by bystanders. Jin was a little curious, but he paid it no heed...

Suddenly, a group of heroes, including Clark and Bruce, appeared out of nowhere and surrounded Jin.

Seeing this all transpire, he remained relatively cool...

They noticed Jin's indifferently calm demeanor. They all quickly surrounded him. Jin at the moment knew he had to be careful with his words and actions. The slightest misstep could lead to the endangerment of the citizens around them if he wasn't careful enough...

Clark sorrowfully gazed, and Batman clenched his jaw in a grim line. Even the usually composed Martian Manhunter was on high alert...

"What's the meaning of this?" Jin asked, keeping his cool despite the situation.

The citizens in the area confused at the situation at hand, so were taking photos while some leaving, sensing the tension beginning to boil...

"Don't play dumb, Jin... You know why we are here..." Batman said, a device at the back of his hand at the ready.

Jin's eyes widened in surprise. 'I never thought it would be this soon...' Jin thought.

'They came when I least expected them... it must be Bruce who decided to strike now... shit,' Jin pondered.

"You killed the Joker, Jin..." Clark said, his voice low and melancholic.

Jin sighed in his mind. He knew that it was only a matter of time before news of that incident reached all the League. But he truly never expected them to confront him like this.

'Still... they must not know who they're dealing with...' Jin thought to himself.

"As I said before...I had no choice. He was going to hurt millions of innocent people..." Jin said, anger creeping into his voice.

"We don't buy that excuse... You're too powerful, Jin. You're a potential danger to not only the society but us heroes too..." Batman said, taking a step closer.

Jin's eyes began to sharpen, wondering why Bruce was acting like this. But he knew it was futile. He was surrounded, outmatched, and outgunned.

Or so they thought...

"I'm not your enemy..." Jin said, his voice rising. "I'm just a someone who wants to live a peaceful life. Is that too much to ask?"

But the League didn't seem to be listening. They were filled with determination to take him down, no matter the cost.

Jin closed his eyes and took a deep breath, preparing himself for the worst. But just then, a voice rang out, cutting through the tension like a knife.

"Stop this madness, all of you!" A voice shouted.

It was Wonder Woman, her voice commanding and authoritative. She stepped forward, her lasso at her side.

"Jin is not our enemy! He's a man who wants nothing but an ordinary life. We should be helping him, not attacking him."

The League looked at each other, unsure of what to do. But eventually, they lowered their weapons and stepped back.

"...Wonder woman, this is a majority vote... Jin needs to be contained... with or without you." Bruce said, his gaze beneath the mask sharp.

Diana steeled her resolve, debating whether she should fight with him or not... and at this time, she was thinking of doing the former.

She got into readied posture, sharpening her gaze...

"Don't... You'll only get yourself into problems if you do this... Let me handle the situation." Jin said calmly, placing his hand on her shoulder...

Diana lowered her stance, looking him into his eyes, already deciding to stay behind...

In a moment, Batman nodded towards Green Lantern and Superman.

Batman then watched as both Superman and Green Lantern advanced towards Jin, who had his back against the wall. The rest of the heroes were staying back, unsure of what to do...

"Batman... He's too dangerous. We can't just let him roam unintended," Superman said, his eyes locked on Jin.

"I understand your concerns, but we can't just attack him without any genuine cause... We don't even know what really happened with the Joker..." Batman replied, taking a step forward. As if trying to convince himself otherwise...

"He killed the Joker, Batman. That's what happened," Green Lantern interjected, his ring glowing ominously.

Jin glared at the two heroes, his fists clenched at his sides. "I had no choice. He was going to gas the entirety of the city... I had to act fast." he said, his voice littered with vitriol.

"...You still have to do the time... Come with us, don't make this difficult..." Bruce said. It was clear the words were heavy to say... as if he even couldn't believe what he was doing.

However, as soon as Jin was ready to respond, he saw too familiar faces...

'Rachel? Barbara?' Jin questioned internally.

Raven and Batgirl arrived on the scene quickly. Raven, on another hand, could sense the fear and hostility emanating from the heroes, and she knew she had to do something, anything to help her lover.

"Stop! The hell is wrong with all of you!" Raven shouted, her eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy. "Jin isn't to be punished!" She finished.

Barbara, hearing Raven's response, stood by her side, while her own fists clenched in determination. "We're here to help defend him," she said, her voice steady and firm. She looked towards her love with a reinvigorated passion, as if measuring him...

Batman hesitated for a moment, his eyes scanning the scene before him. He knew that both women in front of him were capable... Raven was a powerful sorceress and Batgirl was a rather extremely skilled fighter, and he didn't want to risk a confrontation with them. Neither did he want them to be brought into this mess...

Bruce knew Barabara was in love with him, and hearing of the recent news... it was obvious which side she would be on...

Raven, he wasn't so sure of, but by the look in her eyes, it was most likely the case. Which meant that this situation would only add more fuel to the already bursting flame...
