3 The Mansion

Right now in the doors of the Mathers Mano Chris was being greeted by the sight of Ram and her Sister Rem, he found them quite cute but sadly that illusion ended quite quickly.

"Sister Sister our dear guest seems to be staring at us quite weirdly"

"Indeed Sister, Rem believe he's a pervert who likes staring at girls"

"Mhm Mhm"

As Chris thought about his 'dark' intensions he made a mistake of accidentally smirking infront of the twins, but before they could say anything else Emilia along with one of the most powerful beings in the form of a cute floating cat which was the very reason on why Chris was even making contact with them arrived.

"Now don't tease him too much you two, good morning Chris!" Emilia greeted Chris with a smile Puck began floating closer to him.

"Morning." Chris replied as he watched the literal beast of the end hover infront of his face, it was safe to say that he was panicking. But after a few seconds of looking at Chris, Puck reached out his small paws to pet his forehead.

"I like you!"

'Ha?'

Chris was confused he didn't expect Puck's words, then again he did immediately trust Subaru at the start and now since he himself easily took down an assassin that was going to kill his so called daughter. It probably made Puck see him as someone actually competent and reliable and Chris guessed since he could feel his emotions and Intentions of protecting Emilia he didn't see him as a bad person.

" "Dear guest please follow us to meet the lord of this manor" " The twins said in unison before walking leaving Chris with Emilia who pulled his arm while Puck floated beside the two of them.

"Come on Chris!"

Emilia pulled Chris like a friend excited for a sleep over inside the Mansion while he just sighed at her antics.

'God she really is a child'

Chris may seem chill and laid back for someone who grew up in the slums, but there is a reason for this and I'll explain it in future chapters.

'You're around four hundred years old stop talking like that!'

Was what Chris wanted to say if it weren't for the fact that Roswaal would kill him on the spot, and since Chris had never died he wasn't sure if he could even be brought back to life.

As he was X!Tale Frisk not the player character from the actual game, so he had never tried killing himself and he wasn't planning too.

"Its a pleasure to meet you Lord Mathers"

Chris did a small bow showing his respect towards Roswaal who was not only the strongest magician in the kingdom he was also a well know but another was because he was someone Chris couldn't defeat, sure he may be at Lvl 11 but that didn't mean anything towards a person who had a book that could see the future and destroy a whole forest with a single magical attack.

Chris himself knew magic, specifically SOUL magic and sure he had one the trait of DETERMINATION but it wasn't all that impressive when his stamina and mana count wasn't that impressive. But he knew it wouldn't matter much longer as he would deal with the Mabeast in the nearby forest and hopefully they would give him enough EXP to reach Lvl 12.

"Myyy~~, you don't have to be so polite Chris was it~~?"

Roswaal with his sing song manner of speaking asked Chris, it may seem innocent but for Chris who knew what he really was it was far from innocent.

"No I have too, you are not only the greatest magician in the kingdom but as well as a noble!"

Chris was trying to act as humble as possible, as unlike Subaru he couldn't just be carefree. Emilia who saw him act like this actually understood why someone of Roswaal's status shouldn't be disrespected but she believed what Chris was doing was unnecessary.

"Please~~ raise your head come!, breakfast is ready and I would like to have a conversation with Lady Emilia's savior~~"

Roswaal didn't say anything else as he began walking away followed by Emilia and Puck, Rem and Ram had already went earlier saying how they had to prepare breakfast. Chris followed right behind Emilia as he began thinking of the future events that would happened.

He already planned to take care of the mabeast and the little girl who controlled them, another was that if everything were to go the same way he would ask to not be a butler but instead be a guard for the Mansion or maybe even Emilia's so called 'Knight' as he already had something to look the part, he didn't need to be taught magic as he had already checked his gate and it was the element of fire.

But his Soul magic and this worlds magic relied in different types of source's, for his soul magic he needed to strengthen his affinity with his own DETERMINATION while for this worlds magic he needed to strengthen and increase his gates capacity.

'I could ask him to teach me magic, but knowing how my gate is just that of an average mage I doubt he would be interested. And no way am I telling him about Soul magic the last thing I want is a semi-immortal psycho knowing about soul magic'

Chris knew at some point Roswaal would find out about Soul magic as when getting into a FIGHT, he would make so his opponents and his own soul would appear. His only way of stopping this was trying to force his soul to stay inside him which was easier said then done as his own soul trait was basically stubborn.

Soon enough after a bit of walking Roswaal with a wave of his hand pushed the door that was blocking their path open with magic, Chris was greeted by the sight of the local Lolita sitting on a chair in the dinning table with the help of a pillow. While Rem and Ram began placing plates specifically 4.

"Now~~~ join us take a seat~!, I've already made Rem and Ram prepare an extra plate for you Chris~~"

Roswaal said as he took a seat in his over the top chair that was not only twice the size but as well as being covered in different decorations it looked more like a miniature throne than an actual chair, he waved gestured for Chris to take the chair right next to him which was across Beatrice the for hundred year old spirit who had the body of an 11 year old and the caretaker of the mansions Forbidden Library.

"Who is this weird looking person I suppose."

"Now~~Beatrice you should be more polite to our guest, and it's quite strange for you to come out of the library~~"

"I am free to do what I want I suppose!"

Hearing the two four hundred year old powerhouse's bickering like an old married couple made Chris question why he was so afraid of them.

"Greetings, My name is Chris no last name" Chris introduced himself to Beatrice with a smile but there was something he had forgotten

"Chris? A peculiar name and no last name? Very suspicious I suppose!"

Beatrice was a very rude person, but what she was saying was true it was odd for someone to be named Chris. During his time living in the capital he had never met anyone named Chris and having no last name was basically saying 'Hey I'm an orphan peasant!'.

But Chris couldn't help it as he didn't even remember anything about his personal life from his previous life.

"Oh don't be so mean to him Betty!"

Puck had seemingly appeared beside Beatrice and as soon as he was noticed by the loli he was grabbed and pulled into a hug.

"Bubby!"

As Beatrice hugged Puck, Rem and Ram brought in the dishes they had prepared. It was a simple meal of peas mash potatoes and steak, but for Chris who hadn't eaten anything this fancy for around 18 years he was excited to taste it.

Now even after 18 years he had still remembered his table manners they might have been a bit rusty but it was still surprising for a commoner like him to eat so cleanly.

"Now~~ let's get to business Chris~'

Roswaal then began explaining Emilia's situation on how she was a candidate for the throne and how he was her supporter, for Chris who already knew about it he only nodded as Roswaal talked but soon enough he finally went to the part of the conversation Chris was waiting for.

"Since you saved the life of Lady Emilia here, as her supporter I owe you a favor. You can ask me for anything ~~"

Hearing Roswaal's words Chris began thinking of what he should request, he thought about just asking to be her butler but he didn't want to be a servant and since he already had a perfect set of clothing for the job he declared his request.

"Then let me be her knight!"

Hearing his request Ram couldn't help but sneeze but Emilia who heard it were quite shocked but Roswaal on the other hand smiled.

"You do know what you're saying~~ Of course I can't just let you be her knight without making sure of your capabilites ~~"

'I think I know where this is going...'

"Roswaal are you sure about this?"

Emilia asked worryingly to Roswaal as she was now witnessing Chris and Rem about to fight, she knew about how strong Rem actually was so she was worried for Chris's safety.

"My~~~ don't be so worried Emilia, if what you said was true and he was able to defeat the Bowel Hunter easily then fighting Rem wouldn't be that much of a challenge to him right~~?"

Emilia who heard Roswaal's words remembered how Chris was able to easily defeat Elsa, but still she was still worried for her friend.

"Go Chris!"

Puck cheered on Chris as he was still being hugged by Beatrice who surprisingly came to watch, she was curious on how Chris was going to fight as seeing how he doesn't have any weapons with him she assumed he was going to fight with magic.

" Alright I'm almost ready let me just change my clothes"

Hearing Chris say he was gonna go and change Rme thought he would need to head inside to do so, but what surprised her was in an instant his clothing changed from casual clothes a commoner would wear to something that looked very acceptable for a knight or assassin.

Now he had some form of chest plate on a white cloak with black lining a scarf that split to his back and black pants accompanied with black buitd that were strapped together with a white lace, Chris was wearing the same clothing an older X!Tale frisk was wearing this came along with his ITEM space he had hid it inside his Clothes Bag but now that his bags were inside the manor he placed it back inside his ITEM space to equip instantly when needed.

"I'm ready!"

As soon as Chris said those words Rem pulled out her morningstar a giant metal spiked ball on long metal chains, it honestly looked more like W hip in Chris's opinion.

A blue haired maid from the Oni Demi-Human race, she thinks of you as a threat but doesn't show it.

"Begin!"

Ram who was acting as the referee brought down her arm and with her words began Chris's test, Rem didn't wait and threw her Morningstar towards Chris who dodged it by leaning back before grabbing the chain with his foot by intertwining it before pulling Rem towards him.

[FIGHT]

Suddenly Rem saw a floating white heart that was radiating a blue color appear above her chest as she flew towards Chris who now had his SOUL on full display for the others to see, this caused many reactions specifically those of Beatrice and Roswaal. One was confused about the type of Magic he was using and the other was intrigued of seeing it.

'I have to make this quick'

Chris grabbed Rem by her throat before slamming her to the ground before kicking her away to before ehe snapped his fingers and multiple red floating knives appeared behind him.

"Sorry about this."

Chris made a finger gun towards Rem and with it the knives all launched towards Rem who was able to parry them by swinging her Morning Star around her, as she did so Chris this time made a Red Spear out of his SOUL. And a orange and black button appeared just above his left hand before he lightly pressed it.

[SAVE]

Chris then dashed towards Rem with the spear in hand, he tried impaling her with the spear but she was able to dodge as she launched a kick towards his side. He was able to block it with his right arm but with how much force Rem had behind her kick launched him a few feet away, Rem on the other hand had just received a brief second of respite giving her enough time to activate and release her Horn, seeing this Chris threw his spear towards her for only for Rem to dodge it.

She then dashed towards Chris while flailing her Morningstar but as she was getting close another Orange and Black button appeared before Chris once again lightly pressed it.

[LOAD]

With that Chris disappeared with a glitch ING effect before reappearing once where ehe was before when he had safe which was directly where his spear was flying towards, he caught it with air before sending it back to Rem this time hitting her SOUL and sending her flying towards the mansion walls.

[EXP Gained.]

[Lvl 12!]

"REM!!"

Ram went towards her sister who laid motionless on the ground as she was imapled by the spear causing her chest to be crushed and bleeding.

"Thanks for the EXP."

Chris mocked Ram but as he did so Roswaal launched a series of spells towards him along with Beatrice and Ram, but before their spells could reach him he once again pressed the button hovering above his left hand.

[RESET]

With a push of the button everything seem to have frozen before shattering and remaking itself and now Chris was once again moments away from throwing his spear but this time instead of aiming for Rem's soul he aimed for her skirt causing her to be sent flying towards the Mansion walls, but instead of being injured she just had a few bruises and a ruined skirt but before she could remove the spear Chris appeared infront of her with a knife pointed at her throat.

"I win."
