2 The sword saint!

So yeah, I transmigrated into the body of Natsuki Suburu. Honestly, i don't know how to feel. I'm happy I'm in re: zero, but I'm also terrified. I may have to deal with a crazy cult and maybe even a yandere who can control time.

"Hey, what's that thing ya got there?" Said a thin figure as he revealed himself. Next to him was a midget and a big ball of muscle. Thinking back on the plot, these three must be the thieves that killed Natsuki at the beginning. And like hell am I going to die to them now.

*inhale*

"HEEEEELLLLPPPP SOME SHADY GUYS ARE TRYING TO **** ME!!!!!" I scream in the most girly voice possible.

They just freeze and stare at me in shock. "Uh boss? Should we run?" The big man said.

"Please, like some random guard is going to suddenly appear." The boss replies. "Yeah that is kind of unrealistic." Continues the midget.

I just take a seat on some steps while facing them and say. "Guys I would actually make a break for it, my friend should be on his way soon."

"Shut up! Just give us your belongings." says boss as he takes out two knives. "I really don't want to get dirty today."

Seeing the knives I freeze up. I mean just the thought of potentially having return by death scares me. I either have it and have to deal with a yandere. Or I don't have simply die.

"I heard a lady scream? Would it have perhaps been you?" A figure says as he drops down. "I advise you there leave this man alone."

Phew, thank you Reinhard for probably having a super hearing blessing. You are after all the equivalent of a plug in character.

"What's a guard going to do huh?" Boss says then before licking his blade. "I'd run along before you get slashed"

Reinhard was clearly unfazed and I even threw the guy a look of pity. Like how pathetic of a thief must you be to not even know about the sword saint?

Seeing Reinhard not moving boss lunges towards him with an overhead slash. "I warned you."

Reinhard just deflects the blow easily with a normal sword quickly disarming both weapons. And with a sword to bosses neck he says. "I'll be kind of enough to ignore this just once."

"But if you keep this up, I'll execute you here and now."

Boss gulping at the blade at his neck sighs in relief when Reinhard sheaths it. "Now get a long now."

Nodding dumbly, the idiot trio then sprint away wanting to be as far as they possibly can be from this red headed cheat code.

"Thank you for the assist friend." I say still sitting. "I would have honestly been a goner if you hadn't gotten here in time."

"Oh please, it's a pleasure for a common guard such as myself to help someone I need." Laughs Reinhard.

"Hmmm truly amazing that the sword saint is a mere common guard." I chuckle.

"Hmmmm?" Reinhard clearly impresses hums. "Have I seen you somewhere before?"

"No unfortunately not." I reply and then spout some bull shit. "No mere common guard has such skills with the sword and such an expensive outfit, plus the hair gave it away."

"So it was the clothes huh?" He frowns. "Truly was a act of carelessness now that I think about it."

"Say why are you patrolling the city at this time?" I ask being genuinely curious. "I don't expect the sword saint to be sent on mere guard duty."

"Truly observant aren't you?" Reinhard sighs. "Well my mission is to find the 5th candidate for the upcoming royal selection."

"Oh what is the tell tale sign for a candidate?" I ask already knowing the answer. "Maybe I could help you out?"

Reinhard then went into thought for a second before seemingly coming to a conclusion.

"Well every royal candidate will be chosen through an insignia. When a potential candidate comes into contact with one, it will glow." Reinhard explains. "But I do advise you keep this information to yourself. You very well could be executed."

Hearing this I couldn't help but curse in my head. Like bro why would you even tell me if it can potentially get me EXECUTED!!!
