Group Chat

A/N: First to the people who talked about ships….

Keep talking.

I like reading those rants or whatever because they give me ideas too.

And to those who hate the way I've written these characters.

This is a work of Fanfiction. It's not Canon or fanon. It's my head-non. That means, I'm primarily writing this story for myself and hoping to share it with people who might like the changes I make as much as I did.

I'm not forcing you to read my story.

I don't hate any character in TVD, except for Tyler and John Gilbert. I'm a biased bitch like that.

Anyway, I hope that you will enjoy this story but it's fine if you don't. The internet is a vast ocean with many fishes. Go to them if you want to.

If you are still here, even though you don't like the story…And hate it…are you okay? Or is it Good for you? Are you doing a 'Try to read a story until I hate myself' challenge? I find those funny.

But seriously, don't like? Then Don't read. Simple as that.

ON that note!

I have accomplished myself as a writer! How do I know this? I have hate comments now! And swearing comments! I feel like I won something in some ways.

Thank you, to those who said that my writing is actually good. I really appreciate it! I always worry about this so it gives me courage to know that my writing is good enough.

Ship wars this week:

Klaus x Caroline x Neena.

Klaus x Neena

Caroline x Neena (This one is still in this place? I'm surprised.)

Klaus x Neena x Elijah (Two men who always seemed to share women at different points in time, sharing a woman at the same time? They have enough reasons to fight, don't they?)

Elijah x Neena

Kol x Neena

Neena x Originals(You people are way too thirsty and greedy. How would this even work? I don't think I'm talented enough for this relationship(s).)

Neena x Silas(There were also people who thought Silas should just die instead. I don't like him for what he did to My Kat and what he did to Stefan)

Anyway, thank you guys! For your comments and votes. I like reading your interactions!

Comment on your take on the magic in TVD. This is my own take. You guys don't need to come at me with a pitchfork for it! It's been a long time since I have seen the show. And I can't afford Netflix. I'm broke.

Happy Readings!

Chapter 19

Group Chat. (or My worst titled chapter.)

Neena looked out the window of the car in wonder, amazed by the green scenery of the woods.

In her past life she had lived near tall buildings. Seeing scenery like this was almost impossible. The natural beauty of the land still existed and that made it more alluring. She felt a sense of calmness and security the deeper into the woods they went.

Neena was sure it was because of her being a witch.

And that brought the question of what exactly Ivanka did that changed her status from a Traveler to a witch.

They walked out of the car, into the woods.

Caroline complained about how impractical this endeavor was. Neena looked at the blonde girl in exasperation. Out of all four girls, the Blonde girl was the one who looked the least exhausted from all the walking.

"Fine," Neena said, as Caroline's complaints grew louder. "I think this is far enough."

"Finally!" Caroline said as she sat on one of the many scattered boulders.

Neena leaned against one of the trees as she waited for the others to be seated as well. "You are not even sweating yet, Carebear."

"Obviously not," Caroline said. "I am the captain of the cheerleading squad and multiple events. I have more energy than this."

"So, why did you complain so much?" Damon asked her in annoyance.

Caroline shrugged, her eyes looking away from him. "Because if I was a normal girl I would be exhausted."

Neena frowned and followed Caroline's line of sight.

Elena was bent over, huffing and heaving.

Oh. Neena pursed her lips. She was a terrible sister for not noticing her sister's discomfort.

Bonnie stood next to Elena and patted her back. It's only after she made sure that her best friend was okay did she move, standing against Neena's tree.

Jeremy sat down on the ground beside Neena's legs.

She raised an eyebrow at him.

"I want to see up close and personal how your magic works."

Neena shook her head. Her siblings were crazy people. That was the only excuse she could give.

Elena sat beside Stefan as Damon sat down next to Caroline.

The blonde glared at him.

"Okay!" Neena said, clapping her hands. She did not want to see those two have verbal wars again. Neena turned to Bonnie. "What do you know about Magic?"

"That it's magical," Bonnie said with a grin.

Jeremy snickered.

Neena kicked him.

"Hey! She is the one who said that!" he whined.

Neena glared at him. "You are the one who laughed. But seriously, Bonbon, what do you know about Magic?"

Bonnie shrugged. "What my Grams told me."

"And that is?"

Bonnie walked away and sat down next to Elena. "Witches are parts of Nature and we are its servants and its Will in this world. Our duty is to protect Nature's balance. That when we perform any feats of magic we are connecting with the essence of Nature."

Neena blinked. She had thought that Bonnie didn't know anything about magic at all. It seemed that as much as she always complained about her Grams being old and drunk, she did listen to her words.

On second thought it did make sense. Bonnie instinctively knew that the words of her Grams were the truth. It made sense that she would remember whatever she said in her so-called "drunken" state.

"And Grams is right. That's the essence of it. Magic used by witches is connected to nature. Witches take magic from Nature. From the very source that binds all things. Traditionally, witches use the energy of nature to change the things they want to. To do the magical feats they want to, as they see fit. While it's true that witches are the servants of nature, it doesn't mean they can't do things that are against Nature's wishes. I just don't recommend you do it."

"How do you know this stuff?" Elena asked, with a frown.

"A witch told me."

"That sounds very close to the words 'a wizard did it', Neena," said Caroline.

"I think that's what she intended," Stefan said.

Neena gave them a crooked smile. "Anyway, the part of nature's magic that I am the most familiar with is Elemental Control."

"Why?" Damon asked. He had never thought he would get a 101 lesson on magic from a witch willingly. They were all so tight lipped about such things until he pried it open through tricks. Even Bree, for how much she seemed to have loved him back then, never felt comfortable talking about magic to a Vampire.

"I used to watch a lot of TV shows, especially Avatar the Last Airbender."

"The Blue alien one?" Damon asked. "I hadn't realized they had concrete magical rules in that one."

"No Damon, the bald baby one."

He shrugged. "Haven't seen that one yet."

She smiled. "It's a children's cartoon."

He snorted. "What?"

"Anyway, as I was saying! I learned more from that than anything else. The reason was that I thought their use of power and the philosophy behind the chakra is the same as what witches consider magic to be and I didn't really have anyone to turn to."

"Oh!" Caroline said. "But Grams was there! Why didn't you just go to Grams?"

Neena gave her a sceptic look. "Did you forget about how I was before?"

Caroline blushed. "Maybe. It's hard to remember the bad things you did when you are so good to me now."

"Um…" Neena looked at her in disbelief. "Not that I mind it, but Caroline…forgive people, but never forget the things they did or said. That's like wearing rose-tinted glasses willingly!"

"So, what is Elemental control?" Caroline asked.

"Do you think I'm not seeing what you are trying to do?" Neena asked her.

"Get on with it!" Caroline said with a pout. "What is Elemental Control?"

"Fine. But we will talk about this," Neena warned. She sat down beside Jeremy. "Elemental Control is basically exerting your will on the various elements of nature to change, attack, or defend according to the situation. Elemental control is…well…controlling the elements around us. The air. The water. The wind. The earth. Everything. Humans. Beasts. Everything is made of the elements so technically, I should be able to utilize everything as the source of my power. From what I understand, every witch has this capability. But there will be an element that we are more geared towards, an element that we have more affinity towards and an element that we will suck at."

"What's your element?" Jeremy asked, his brown eyes sparkling in interest. "Is it fire?"

Elena leaned forward in anticipation.

"It's still undecided. I haven't tried using all the elements yet. I have a good grasp of water, and fire. I have just started on air, but I haven't even tried earth."

"Isn't earth synonymous to Nature?" Bonnie asked. "So shouldn't you have tried that first?"

Neena remembered that she first learned Water. It made sense. At that time she had just died by burning to death and fire was an element that she was scared of the most. She had learned water because she wanted to feel safe. Because it was the element opposite fire.

And she had wanted to learn fire last or never, but fire hurts Vampires the most. And at that time she wanted to save Caroline from Damon's clutches.

"I wanted to be a water bender," she said. She used the same excuse she used on herself back then so that she didn't have to explain why she feared fire to them.

"What's that?" Jeremy asked.

"A person who uses water based attacks," She said. "It's from that show I told you about."

"Cool! Like a water mage in games!" Jeremy said.

"Yup. Exactly." She gave him an indulgent smile. she found it adorable that her baby brother was such a nerd.

"So then, what element to do think you will be an expert in?" Elena asked, curiously. Even though this was all new to her, she wanted to learn more about her sister's new identity. It made her feel closer to her and Elena didn't want to be left behind by her sister ever again.

"I don't know," Neena said. "Water maybe?"

"Fire," Damon said. "It's going to be fire."

"No."

"I bet it's fire," he said with a smirk.

"I bet it's not."

"Why?"

"I like the control I have with water, and I like the freedom of wind. I also like the stability of Earth. Fire is none of those and if I lose control of it, I will hurt others. I can't see myself as a fire person."

"hmmm...maybe."

She decided to ignore him. Damon had his own right and wrong. And those who prove him wrong end up dead. There was no way she was giving him or the World that chance.

"Let's try some basic things first," Neena said. "Talking about it is only going to help you so much. Practicals are better to understand than theorie."

"Finally!" Jeremy, Damon and Caroline said together and then stilled.

Neena laughed. "I should name you three the Echoing Trio."

"Neena!" Caroline said.

She grinned.

"What are you going to show her, Nee?" Elena asked. She felt like she was an outsider at the moment. Neena was her sister, but everyone else talked more with her than she did.

Neena looked at the doe eyes of Elena in a daze. Why did she get the impression that Elena was acting cute and saying 'notice me, sister'.

Neena shook her head quickly. Nope. That's all in her own head. Nope.

"I'm going to show her how to use fire," Neena said to her.

"Why Fire?" Stefan asked with a frown. "I think we would all be safer if you started with anything other than Fire. Otherwise, if you lose control, you guys will burn down the forest or someone might get hurt."

"And we will only forgive you if it's Damon you burn," Caroline said to Bonnie.

The dark skinned girl looked at her friend in surprise. "What?!"

"She is joking," Neena said to Bonnie.

Caroline pouted. Damon still didn't get his due for trying to kill her and Neena and now Bonbon seemed to be having feelings for the vampire. She didn't like that her friends were being kept in the dark about what he is. She could understand why. It wasn't their secrets to tell and Damon would actually kill them if they revealed his secret. But she still felt uncomfortable.

"I guess we can learn water first then?" Neena asked Bonnie.

"Okay," Bonnie said in a lofty voice but her entire demeanor was that of a beggar winning a lottery. "It would be interesting right?"

Neena gave her a knowing look. "Yeah. I was hoping to see a bit more excitement in your face though."

Bonnie ducked her head in embarrassment. "Let's just begin."

Neena nodded.

A/N: This was an interesting chapter. I tried to write what I thought the rules of being a witch were but I know I failed. Really sorry about that.

Other than that…how was it? good? bad? ugly?

Don't forget to like, comment, review and let me your valuable feedbacks!
