The Zone, And New Focus...

"The, zone?" Whis asked curiously.

'I've never heard of such a thing... Yet he knows?' Whis also thought. For there to be a state above the one he was using now seems implausible, even if he said there is, is it so much better than what they have learned?

"Of course Whis" The saiyan replied curtly, his features calm.

"Techniques are ever evolving Whis, even ultra instinct. However, the weakest version of the zone defeats even the Grand priest's proficiency of the UI..." Daiko finished.

"If it is so much better, why didn't you use it in the match with my father?" Whis asked.

'That's a damn good question...' The saiyan contemplated to himself. He then took a moment before answering his teacher, saying.

"It's because that technique isn't truly a technique... To be frank, the zone is a supernatural-like state the body goes through when in a difficult situation... One cannot simply trigger it when they feel. Even ultra instinct cannot be used like this technique." The saiyan concluded.

Whis looked contemplative. He didn't really get much of an understanding of the state...

"And do you know what it's like? The zone?" He asked his tailed friend.

"Hmmm... Have you ever felt to be in a state of hyperconsciousness? Let me be more specific. Have you ever been in a state where anything you did, no matter how ridiculous it seemed just simply, clicked? As if each move you did came out to be absolute perfection?" Daiko asked.

Whis just thought for a moment, recalling the very, very few moments of his rather long life that he has been able to do things like that...

"Yes, I have, although extremely hazy... Is that what you call the zone?" Whis asked, seemingly understanding what Daiko was saying.

"Good, I doubt you have experienced that sensation a lot... It only graces those who try to court death, a place close to it, and lastly, extreme distress... However, when it does activate, your senses reach a new level, and the coordination of your eyes and limbs reaches levels unprecedented. Your perception slows down many times over, while anything you did was calculated to a state of unconscious perfection...

While you are able to seemingly escape blows/moves, you equally perform them at angles impossible... That is the zone, Whis." Daiko finished.

Whis nodded, with such a vivid description, he remembered those times he had trained with his siblings and his father in the past. But not now.

"So how does one unlock this technique? You said near death earlier, but I've been in those situations..." Whis asked, sitting down on the fields next to his student.

"Near death is equally the worst and best situation. Though, after a while, one does not fear death, and for you, that must be the same. You've lived too long to try that method, the best one for you is the utmost latter, extreme distress."

Daiko knew his teacher, being an angel had its perks, but even more so its cons. The life of an angel is long and arduous, the training they went through to get to the stage they are at has to numb them... Well, that was already evident.

Angels don't show many emotions, rather it is like they couldn't feel them, at least not to the same degree a normal being should feel said emotions, and that is the sad truth of a rather long life, eons upon eons of living, and you also constantly repeat a process such as this, which must to some degree be maddening, even though they don't show it, however, Daiko didn't linger on it too long.

He knew better than that...

Whis sat silently. Thinking to himself.

"I think I'll leave you to your own company whis... I have another training regiment you gave me to follow and with that last fight. I should be capable of handling it." Daiko said to his teacher. Leaving him alone to think to himself.

Daiko had just revolutionized his way of martial arts. Not only did he tell Whis that ultra-instinct was a joke, he even said that there is a far superior technique compared to even that...

Daiko looked at his new status screen in surprise...

'The system changed itself to be simpler... Not bad, and it uses their classic tiering system from my past life' He thought. He also noted some other interesting changes too.

'My ki stat has been redacted because of my lack of energy, which makes sense, as well as my energy regen too...' He saw and noted. He also noted the new 'Age' status. He was pleasantly surprised at how long he could live now.

Which was around 4 times longer than the average saiyan warrior, and he knew it might increase due to his hybrid status, and the upcoming new physique after his bloodlines fused. And this wasn't even mentioning how long he will remain in his hypothetical 'prime' due to his saiyan genes...

"Anyway, It's a good day to start my new training regiment. Clone!" Daiko said and ask, then immediately his own clone appeared before him.

"What do you need mister boss?" His clone appeared and said, even saluting too.

"I need you to materialize me a large clump of steel, at least half as tall as me, and twice as thick as I should do." The original Daiko ordered. And instantly, so said so done.

A massive heap of uniformed steel appeared before him in an instant.

'Boy is ki materialization busted, I'm glad I learned it.' The saiyan thought, and he quickly turned to his clone.

"You can go now, and make sure to meditate more too, okay." The original commanded. The clone nodded without hesitation, flying off...

"Alright. Time to do some 'iron-fist' training..." He mumbled begrudgingly to himself...
