448 Chapter 448: Temporary God (5)

Dawn POV

"Oh wow, such an Alabama moment." Anna teased, "Ooh, is Jerah related as well?"

"Oh, you know what Anna, for once, shut up. Besides, incest isn't even legal there."

"What? It's not like you have to worry, you're a goddess."

"Oh I'm not going to shut up, you've had sex with him, I mean, sure, you didn't go all the way, but he still-"

"I regret having us confide each other with our problems."

"Don't worry, I'm not related to you in that way, you both are fine." lady Time chuckled, "I was just joking."

Thank goodness. I was actually panicking there.

"Anyway, you'll have to be careful with these 2." Lady time warned, "Lucifer was kicked out for a reason, and Satan...well, you're not going to need any warning about him, defeat them both quickly, because I would rather not have this timeline fall to them, it'll be the end of everyone."

Buddy POV

"You're seriously becoming a god? Wow...this Perseus guy is nuts." Trevor commented, "By the way, did you check on his women? Like what if they're cheating behind his back?"

"Don't worry, I do it all the time, I'm not having Perseus suffer the same fate you did."

"Hah...if only Rebecca...was..."

All I could do was carry his memory, cherish the bond we once shared, and navigate this surreal world with the lessons learned from his unhealed wounds. If only the past could be rewritten if only the betrayal could fade into the oblivion of forgotten regrets.

But...Rebecca...luckily I killed her behind everyone's back, even the maid, they did not deserve a happy ending.

"Rebecca..." The name tasted bitter on my tongue...

Her feeble excuse, blaming it on the alcohol as if it were a shield against accountability, left a sour taste in my mouth. Yet what stung more was her departure, abandoning Trevor despite her guilt, despite her hollow apologies. Dumb bitch.

They caused Trevor to go to the dark side, their selfish desires shattered the fragile balance of Trevor's world, pushing him into the shadows where light struggled to penetrate. The unfairness of it all echoed through my being, a silent witness to the unraveling of his once vibrant spirit.

"Are you still not over it? I can ask Maple and Leilah to help Get Perseus to talk to you."

"Isn't he better at breaking opponents down rather than helping them?" Trevor pointed out, "And isn't his situation different from mine? Sure, I've faced a lot of racism, I've faced being overshadowed...but I've never faced a situation like Perseus, I normally wouldn't even try to befriend anyone after being sold like a slave and experimented on for more than a decade."

"Like you, he's strong, I have faith."

"Aw man, I'd rather you wake up early because this kind of nostalgia is going to be hard for me to wait for you since your life is tied to his now...and he'll live for about 200-300 years..."

"I'll try to put in a good word with the goddess of death...though she's more of a goddess of funerals if anything since she mostly attends funerals in secret, it's just that this world associates funerals with death. Leilah's the more physical embodiment of it."

"You should try to get along with her, you know."

"She's too clingy, that's my job."

"Don't you have his parents and his brother to dote on you?"

"Yes, but only you and Perseus can spoil and dote on me the best."

3rd Person POV

In the cramped cell, Lucifer and Satan lean in close, heads together in a hushed conversation.

"We gotta bust out of here," Satan grumbles, his voice a growl edged with impatience.

Lucifer nods, a glint of determination in his eyes. "Agreed. But what's the plan after we're out?"

Satan smirks, a twisted grin etching his features. "Raze it all. Tear this world apart. Make 'em bow."

Meanwhile, Satan's pacing creates an agitated rhythm in the confined space. His eyes burn with a hunger for chaos, envisioning a rampage that would obliterate everything in its path.

"Chaos has its allure, but control? That's where the power lies. We rule, subtly at first. Then, when they least expect it, we bring the thunder." Lucifer's expression remains composed, a calculating gaze fixated on the horizon of their freedom.

<We? > they both thought simultaneously <That's funny.>

And let's not forget our dearest adversary. God." Satan's voice drips with venom as he speaks the name.

"Oh, He won't be spared. Not after what He did to us. Cast out, locked away..." Lucifer's gaze darkens, a glimmer of resentment flickering in his eyes.

"I'll make him regret every moment of it. The Almighty will bow before me."

<But first, we need to get out of here.> Lucifer thought, <They're confining us to kill for our power, it's working as powers are slowly regaining, but...if I don't escape within the next day or 2, I'm dead.>

"The guards, their routines... There's a vulnerability we can exploit." Lucifer's mind races with plans and calculations.

"I'll handle the guards. You focus on dismantling these damned chains." Satan's grin widened, "Also, figure out what these vessels are made of, all we know is that they are brittle and can break easily if we are met with a certain attack."

"The problem here is Dawn, she's the biggest headache, and Jerah...well, he won't like us either, we are technically a creation made from Perseus' soul, he'll kill us if he senses us anywhere nearby."

As Lucifer and Satan plot their escape, Lady Time's mind weaves through the threads of fate, tracing the intricate tapestry of timelines. She observes the branching paths, the delicate balance of cause and effect that teeters on the brink of disruption. She sees the fates of Cain, Perseus' and many others.

Amidst the imminent turmoil, her expression remains stoic, betraying no hint of emotion.

"Well, this needs to happen...after all, how would I be born?" she sighs, "Mother was right, they really are young like the pictures, and here I thought it was edited...my time here has been well spent, I better get going now."
