114 Chapter 114: A Way Out

Perseus POV

"Hey Edward, why are you at my house? And why are you panting with a tired look? A very undignified look for a prince/duke."

"I rushed here, the heroes are on their way to the south for help." he said after he took a deep breath

I just finished dinner and was enjoying a board game with my family, only for it to be disturbed by lots of loud knocking at the door and I find Edward in front of it with no guards which is weird, I then let him in and Ruka gave him a glass of water.

"The golem has now turned from just a pyramid shaped machinery golem thing into something else." Edward reported "It's now apparently shaped like what a hero described as 'a gundam mecha'."

Cool.

"And its powers is now off the scales." he continued "I'm here to ask that did you take the treasure? It might be the key to taking this down."

"Before I answer that, if a hero described it as a 'gundam mecha', does that mean they're there? Why?! They're weak as hell."

"They're used to raise morale." He replied "This is evaluated to be stronger than the kraken you fought, so since Zoris own half its rights, we also bear some of its responsibilities as well, and now we're sending healers and a lot of fighters as we round our strongest fighters.

"The heroes are helping the injured as we speak since they are talented in that aspect, so do you or do you not have the treasure? Because the rest reported a 9 star dagger, a 10 star shield and a 10 star necklace amongst the only treasures we can use as of now."

"I got the demon lord's diary."

"That can't be the treasure gifted to him by the sun goddess." he commented "So it must be one of the treasures, but we haven't found their usage yet apart from the 3 I've mentioned...anyway, you have to go quick, this colossal giant of a thing might wreck a worse havoc than the kraken and we need every fighter we got."

"Damn, just when I think I'll get some sleep."

After a short preparation, Leilah teleported us to the desert and I noticed something as I arrived at the desert, Buddy hates the Tartians. Make sense since they're the descendants of the so called first hero.

Funnily enough, the Tartians are the descendants of both the first hero and the first demon lord since the first hero did marry 'Trevor's' daughter.

Him being able to understand human speech is both a good thing and a bad thing, Buddy hates the fact that every record of what 'Trevor Yale' contributed as a hero, and he's only talked about more as a sidekick and well, his legacy as a hero was practically erased.

I read a bit of the diary part of the Buddy guidebook, it seems that Trevor had to step up many times where the first hero failed, and even he was disappointed as people only praised his friend when he is usually forgotten. And he seems to desire some sort of appreciation which he barely got.

Buddy was there for him and the fox was the 4th wheel to their crew in ending the war which was later restarted and was worse than ever. And until the days of him turning mad, the diary was written daily without fail, learning to tap in the mind of the first demon lord kinda does stuff to me that I don't want.

He's making me feel pity, I guess, even though there are no proper ways to prove that none of this is false, so I'll just take everything with a grain of salt. More about the diary later, I get to fight an actual mecha robot and save the day.

Loki POV

*Flashback*

Today was supposedly like any other, some tests, and observation while they're observing the samples out there for whatever they're trying to find, later I'm supposed to go meet Lucifer again, but when the time for me to be led out of my room, but a red alarm blared again, but this time, it was different.

I can't hear any noise outside my room, but I can tell that this is weird, no soldiers are barging in to keep me in check or anything, no extra suppression drugs, no restraints, something is happening outside.

Is this one of the test where they're trying to test whether I'm trying to escape again?

But a moment later, this adult blonde woman about 177cm tall in her early 20s burst through my door and threw me an anti suppression drug, she's wearing the same scrubs I am, so she's a part of the project as well.

"We're escaping." she exclaimed and rush to me and her fingers started started crackling and forced open my metal mask

"Escape?! They got tracking devices in our heads!" I retorted weakly

She already broke into my room, I don't even know who she is apart from her apparent power over electricity, I've seen her before during our group escape before we all separated, but that's about it.

"That's why I gathered a team, we're getting Lucifer next, you know his location, right?" she asked "Look, they will find out I made contact with you, you're getting interrogated either way and this is our last chance, we go out, we escape and if we get caught, I'll take responsibility and kill you, stay for torture or escape, choose."

"What about the 3 tracking devices in our body?" I said as I took the pill to cancel out the suppression of my ability

"Got that covered as long as we find a safe spot for about 10 minutes." she reassured "But we'll need to get out and you lead us to Lucifer."

I practically have no choice here, so I ran out and can see all the scientists and soldiers knocked out and fried with a woman has dark brown skin, looks about 20 at best, 168cm tall, da holding one of the soldiers' rifles.

"That's your team? One other person?!"

"That's why we have you leading us to Lucifer." the blonde said

"Fine, names?"

"Alexis and that's Brie short for Brianna, let's move it." the blonde replied as she took up a rifle and handed me one too "You kill, right?"

"Yeah." I then aimed at the scientists and soldiers and fire out all my rounds as Alexis went to overload the machines and computers within the room with her powers and set the papers nearby on the small fire to burn them
