The Goddess of Life

A blinding light appeared, he couldn't see clearly, the light was too strong, but he could see a silhouette, he wondered what it was, was he dreaming, did he go crazy and started seeing illusions? What was that exactly?

It was God.

The goddess of all life.

His pain disappeared the moment the light appeared, and the dark tentacles were pulverized, the pressure on his throat was gone, and now he could speak again.

His sight started to adapt, it wasn't so blinding anymore, he slowly adapted and finally discovered what the person behind the light looked like.

He was finally able to see.

She was a gorgeous woman; her aura was gentle like a swan, domineering like a phoenix, and fierce like a dragon.

I was dumbfounded by her beauty.

She had a beautiful cyan-greenish dress, her eyes were yellow like the light that surrounded her, and she had ornaments everywhere.

Her voice echoed through the darkness, and the darkness started shaking.

She started talking, she tried at least.

"[XAXXGXXSXXXXFXXXXXUXXX]"

I was clueless, I didn't understand anything; that was probably another language.

The pressure of her voice was too much, my eardrums shattered, I started bleeding, my ears were ringing, it hurt like hell.

I was shocked; I thought I was dead, but I was bleeding, how was that possible? I looked at her. She cleared her voice with a shameful face and a glimmer of regret.

She started talking again, this time her voice was normal, but I still couldn't understand her.

"[XFXXDXXXXGXXXXXJXXXKX]"

She saw my clueless face; she blushed, she was getting nervous and desperate.

She tried again.

"Hello human,"

Her face brightened.

"Uff, I finally got it. I'm sorry for your ears."

She snapped her fingers.

Snap.

"My eardrums magically healed. She saw my surprised face."

She had the smuggest face on.

"I'm really the best, ja ja ja."

"Uhm, hello?"

"Sorry, I got distracted."

"I'm the goddess of life, the protector of all life. I must convey my greatest apologies. I'm really sorry we got careless, and you were sent to the abyss."

"It happens often, but this time it got under our noses, and we left you here for 1000 years. The abyss snatched you. HE'S A GREEDY GUY!!!!! The abyss prefers consuming good hearts, so that's why he snatched you. I'm the one who manages life, and you were unfairly sent here. So we're going to compensate you."

He finally processed everything; he had a panicked face.

"1000 years how?!!!!"

"Time in the void passes very fast; it's impossible to notice."

"Any other questions?"

"What's the abyss?"

He had so many questions, but he had to ask the main ones.

"Uhm, that's a good question; you can say he's an entity. He is the god of death, or you can forget about it and just think of it as hell. He devours evil people's souls, little by little, making them suffer for all their wrongdoings."

"He wasn't so cruel and evil before. His name was Lucian; he was one of the strongest gods here. We had to band together to strip away his power and status. Now he's just the torturer of hell and eats their souls. That wasn't our idea; we just let them wander around going crazy, but this works out too... but we didn't expect him to get tired of evil souls and start desiring good ones. Throughout his life, bit by bit, his soul was corrupted with evil, and we couldn't correct his path, but no one wanted to outright kill him; he was our brother after all. So we decided to imprison him here. The abyss devours souls little by little, and yours was almost devoured. You're a sturdy human; no one survived so much time in here. (He blushed)

"Anything else?"

"If I'm dead, how did I get hurt?"

"This is a spirit parallel dimension. When someone dies, his soul is brought here; you can feel pain but you can't die. Even if a human knew this, no amount of power could break into this place, and if he did, his body would get rejected from this place; his soul would remain here, and his body would be just a husk of himself. Normally, when curious humans find this dimension and get sucked in, we let them off and bring them back to their bodies."

"Oh, I forgot to tell you; your little friend is ok. I sent her to the same planet you're going to."

His body started flying at incredible speeds; he was closing in on a black barrier. He was suddenly in Outerspace; he flew past stars, planets, meteorites, black holes, and other amazing sights.

He was admiring the scenery when a shooting star passed through him; he was so shocked he froze.

"I did say brace for impact, but I didn't mean it this way."

"I'm really sorry."

He didn't move anymore; his human mind couldn't handle it.

(Her face turned pale)

"Shit, I broke another one; I already made him suffer a lot; I need to solve this."

She approached him and hugged him; their foreheads touched, and she disappeared into thin air.

A bright light appeared on his forehead; it shined for a moment and then vanished moments later.

She had sacrificed a lot to heal him; not even a million years of servitude could compensate for it, but she felt bad for all the things he went through, so she was willing to do it for him.

This was her first vacation in all her life; the other gods would handle her work.
