Prologue

• Lesley's point of view

"Do we have to sneak in like this? I think this is dangerous" I whispered in a low tone. "You know we should go back"

Gusion glared at me and grabbed my wrist, his blue gaze pierced right through me as if telling me that there's no turning back.

"What's fun in going back?" He asked, "Home is filled with boundaries, inescapable shackles bound me against my will and you're telling me to go back?" A sigh escaped his lips and let my wrist go. "We're breaking the limits here. I'm not going to be a coward and go back to be a prisoner"

I bit my lower lip, "But what we're doing here is mocking the Mystic Trinity. We can't do this!"

He stood up, "Why not? This is a big achievement for us. By taking the holy blades, I'll be invincible. I can rule the world and kill the people I hate"

My heart is thumping fast in my chest. Fear and anxiety is flowing through me, what has gotten into him?

"But you're going to be in trouble after you steal the blades. It's best to face our fate and be shackled against our will than be seen as thieves, Gusion"

"So what's it gonna be Lesley, Be a bounded prisoner forever or be free like me?" He asked, "Of course I would spare you when I get my hands on the blades because I wouldn't have made it if it wasn't for your help"

I glared at Gusion, "Stop this let's go home and forget about this" then turned around and started walking. "Let's go Gusion.."

"So it's a no then?" He frowned, "Fine. Have it your way then"

With those words, Gusion ran towards the crystal where the Holy Blades are placed. It's the Trinity's spell to make sure no one would steal it, but Gusion is smarter.

Gusion grabbed his dagger and continuously stabbed the glowing crystal until the light turned red. He smirked and threw one more dagger before escaping to hide behind one of the pillars.

I gasped and took cover myself and with wide eyes, I stared at the overflowing crystal in front. Gusion was nowhere to be seen but I know he's around somewhere.

I braced and shielded myself from the shards. The trinity must've known about the news, they must be on their way. "Gusion! Let's go home!"

He smirked and grabbed the Holy Blades, "Home? The world is my home now. I'll kill every person I hate, including my family.. but.."

His words were cut by shackles and chains bounding him. I gasped and made my way towards Gusion but was halted by guards from the Trinity.

"He's dangerous. Stay out of the way" the guard told me. "Run away before the Trinity finds out that you're here"

I took a last look at Gusion, his eyes show no emotions nor fear. He looked at me and glared, mouthing the words, "Get out of here"

It took me my whole strength to leave him behind, but I have to. So I placed my hood on and ran away from the scene.

Minutes away, I heard something explode. So I turned around to see the place where the Gusion was bounded in was filled with ravishing fire. Scared, I tumbled on the ground and tried catching my ragged breathing.

"Gusion.." I whispered and placing my hand on top of my chest, "No.."

As if energy was seeping out of me, I was blacking out. But before I completely lose consciousness, I saw someone hover above me and call me.

"...sis! Hang on! I'll call for help!"

Those were the last words before I completely black out and lose consciousness.
