Fate Bestows A White Haired Girl

How did it end up being like this?

Fang sat quietly on the wet ground inside his steel cage. He was put in the middle of what looked like your average town square and had eyes that already seemed dead. His mouth was open unconsciously with a string of saliva coming dripping down slowly.

It'd been months since he was last able to clean himself. His pale body was dirty—covered in different kinds of red bruises and blemishes. His black hair was unkempt and nasty.

Day after day, civilians would walk in the town square and past Fang, muttering harsh words while laughing under their breaths as they looked at him. He was there to be humiliated.

Fang suddenly lifted his head up. He looked around his cage before rubbing his sky-blue eyes with his dirty hands and putting his arms in the air, letting out a loud, lasting yawn. He'd learned how to sleep with his eyes half open as a defense mechanism in case people at night came to harm him, but this also ended up making him more tired than he needed to be.

"Today marks the fourth month of being in this hellhole cage."

All this time, Fang had been keeping track of his days inside his small prison.

Fang wiped the drool off his face with his forearm and crawled over to the bars of his cage. He sat down on his knees, looking up at the blue sky as if he was stuck in a trance.

"If I kept track properly, I turn 15 today."

Fang looked down at the stone pavement outside his cage trying not to cry, clenching his fist. He gripped the metal bars of the cage, and a single tear ran down his cheek and onto the floor.

"I miss you, mother."

His mother had been out of his life for several years now, but he still felt depressed. It was nearly impossible to move on. She was the only person who truly cared for Fang, ever. Losing her was like losing a part of himself.

A single moment of a dream he constantly had filled his mind, haunting him. It was a nightmare that felt so real. Filled with the screams of children and men, he wished it would just go away.

Fang let go of the bars and closed his eyes.

"Oh, Virtue of Hope Elpis, let my night become morning soon."

As soon as Fang ended his wish, he sat back down in his cage, leaning against the wall. He spotted a green, horned beetle with red polka dots on its back. It was called a langris beetle, and it began making its way into the cage, crawling around freely.

The Langris Beetle eventually stopped in front of Fang's feet and began nibbling on the dead skin peeling off of him.

Fang lifted his foot in the air and brought it down on the Langris Beetle, crushing it. The Langris Beetle left a small pool of its blue blood, staining the ground. Once it'd died, Fang picked up the Langris Beetle by the horn, dropping it into his mouth.

Fang plugged his nose and began chewing on the Langris Beetle. The exoskeleton of the beetle was crunchy, and the meat tasted bitter. Its blue blood squirted inside his mouth, giving a sour taste. Fang swallowed the beetle and gagged, almost throwing it back up.

"At least it tastes better than the spoils the civilians throw at me..."

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps began approaching his cage.

"Look at the monster!" cried a voice.

Fang moved his eyes up, just barely being able to see who was talking.

An obese, towering, and unappealing woman holding a bucket began to approach Fang. The woman wore a tight white dress that barely fit her and had thick white hair with a face buried deep in makeup. Accompanying the large woman was a young girl around the same age as Fang.

The large woman placed the bucket she was holding on the ground and looked at Fang with a sick face. She grabbed the shoulders of the young girl beside her, making sure she saw Fang in his cage.

The girl was the complete opposite of the big lady. She looked into Fang's cage with a neutral face.

She had very fair skin and wore a long snow-white blouse and skirt with sandals. Her straight waist-length hair matched her outfit and was so white it could reflect all light. She had squinty purple eyes, as well as tiny lips, making her face look small.

Fang's mind felt captivated by her beauty as if staring at a goddess.

The young girl waved. "Greetings."

Fang looked up at her, dumbfounded. It was the first time in a very long while that someone had interacted with him without being scared or disgusted.

"Salika, this is the thing that almost destroyed this town!" The large lady said sternly.

"Salika is her name?" Fang thought to himself.

Salika stared deeply into Fang's eyes with her expressionless face as if glaring straight into his soul. This caused Fang to avert his eyes from her out of discomfort.

"The Kratian Royal Family should've eradicated the entirety of your filthy race," the large lady said. Spit flew out of her mouth as she spoke, with some of it landing inside the cage. "If it hadn't been for you, this town wouldn't have had to lose so many people!"

Fang looked at the large lady's face, surprised at what she had said. It was like a spark had lit a fuse in his head.

Fang stood up in his cage and grabbed the bars, gripping them intensely as if trying to rip them out. "You know nothing about me, fatass-"

Before Fang could finish, the large lady picked up the bucket from the ground and threw the contents inside at him. Water splashed all over Fang, leaving his hair and body completely drenched.

Fang fell back down on the floor, letting go of the cage's bars. The freezing water gave his body a shock, stunning him momentarily.

"You Ceruleans are always so rude," the large lady smugly said. "Warrior race my ass, you're all just barbarians and peasants, lower than dirt. It's no wonder your kind perished!"

Fang clenched his teeth in anger but stopped. He knew that anything he did was useless as long as he was in the cage.

"Porch, perhaps you're going too far," Salika said abruptly. "You weren't even there when the events in the village happened, so don't play the victim here."

The large lady darted her head down at Salika and raised her eyebrow at her in annoyance.

Fang looked up at Salika, still dazed. "Why is she defending me?" He thought.

Salika brought her right arm out to her side and opened her palm. Just then, it began to sparkle with a blinding yellow light.

Small pieces of white wood were summoned, coming together to form a wand in her hand.

"Calor koo," Salika said.

A small and bright red sphere of energy was summoned at the tip of the wand. The red sphere of energy sparked and crackled like a firework. It began growing larger and larger until it grew to the size of an apple.

Madam Porch smiled smugly. "Yes!" She shouted. "Blast that foul Cerulean with your magic, Salika! Show it no mercy!"

The red sparking sphere of energy tore itself off from the tip of the wand and began to float aimlessly in the air like a bubble. It suddenly froze in the air before moving again, this time straight toward Fang. It made its way into him, entering his body.

"What in the world…" Fang murmured.

It felt like his body was in a relaxing sauna. His wet body caused by Madam Porch started to dry up quickly, along with his wet rags.

"What do you mean 'what in the world,'" Salika said. "It's obvious I'm using magic to dry you up after my ignorant older sister poured water on you."

Porch mumbled something under her breath. "Tsk, dumb bitch, you shouldn't bother helping that murderous thing."

"Shut your mouth, Porch," Salika said blankly. She redirected her white wand from Fang and pointed It at her sister.

Madam Porch flinched, putting her hands up and in front of her, taking a step back away from Salika. "Don't point that thing at me, that's dangerous!"

"I would hope it'd seem that way," Salika said, putting down her wand. "Keep your mouth shut from now on. You've embarrassed me in front of the Cerulean enough."

Fang watched quietly and confused as the sisters quarreled with one another.

"You dare talk to your eldest sister like that!" Madam Porch shouted at the top of her lungs. "How can you say that I've embarrassed you when all you do is try to embarrass me yourself!?"

Fang moved his hands up to his ears and covered them. He tried suppressing the irritating sound of Porch's loud voice.

"I hope you know you will get heavily punished for disrespecting those above you-"

Salika pointed her wand back at Madam Porch's face causing her to suddenly stop rambling. "Mua de,"

A tiny blue magic circle appeared at the tip of Salika's wand. It released a hose of water at Madam Porch's mouth.

"That should finally make you quiet," Salika said.

Fang watched as the water that came out from the tip of Salika's wand spread itself like a blanket around Madam Porch's mouth. She tried flurrying at the water, trying to get it away, but couldn't stop it.

"Blub blub How dare you! Blub blub," Madam Porch shouted inaudibly.

Salika put her wand back down beside her and pulled her long skirt up so she could sit down on her knees in front of Fang.

"You're quite the handsome one," Salika said. Her squinty purple eyes stared straight into Fang's.

Fang crawled back nervously. It was his first time receiving a compliment.

"I sincerely apologize for my older sister," Salika said. She looked behind her shoulder to find her sister still struggling and trying to shout, before turning back to Fang. "She's got quite the goblin's mouth."

Goblins mouth was correct. Goblins tended to ramble and shout obscene things as they terrorized their victims, showing no restraint whatsoever.

"No issue…" Fang said cautiously. "I'm used to insults like the ones your sister said... I'm Cerulean after all, so it's natural."

Even before being imprisoned, the small race of Ceruleans that Fang belonged to faced heavy racism and discrimination from just about every other race. These races included humans, elves, dwarves, lizardmen, and beastmen. Because of their history in the past as ruthless, mana-less warriors, they gained a bad reputation for themselves.

Salika tilted her head slightly to the right. "Why are you backing away from me? I'm not going to hurt you."

A shiver went down Fang's spine. Something about her words set off alarms in his head.

"T-This distance is fine, isn't it?" Fang asked, his voice trembling. His knees began to fidget up and down.

Salika put her wand away and leaned forward against the cage.

Fang looked at her, confused. "What are you doing-"

Suddenly, Salika drove her right arm in between the cage's bars. She stretched her arm inside the cage as much as possible, trying to get closer to Fang like a hungry beast.

"Come," she said in her monotone voice, wiggling her fingers.

"What the hell!" The sudden and frightening actions of Salika caused Fang's eyes to widen in fear. He quickly pushed his back harder against the cage's walls, trying to keep away as far away as possible.

"You're doing the opposite of what I'm telling you," Salika said, still persisting.

"You don't think I know that?!" Fang shouted back.

Salika's fingers began to shake as she tried reaching even further. "Quit being stubborn, come forward, now."

"Get your arm away from me and I'll consider it!" Fang contested. His heart began to race intensely.

"No way I can do that," Salika replied plainly.

"Yes way you can do that!"

"You're making this harder for the both of us."

"I'm pretty sure it's just you!"

"I'll give you a treat if you come to me."

"Don't treat me like a pet!"

Salika looked down in disappointment and sighed. She slowly removed her arm from out the cage and rested her hands on her thighs.

"I have a proposal for you, so please," Salika said.

"If you had a proposal you didn't have to reach your entire arm inside the cage!" Fang said. He calmed down for a bit before speaking again. "What's the proposal you have to tell me so badly then...?"

"Come closer and I'll tell you," Salika responded, patting her thighs.

Fang gulped. He crawled slowly towards the front of the cage and towards Salika, wary of any strange actions she might do next. His heart raced. He was starting to have second thoughts, but he was already too deep in to turn back.

"Very good," Salika said, smiling. She had finally shown her first emotion that wasn't bland.

Salika's already squinty eyes became even more squinty as she smiled, making them appear as if they were shut.

"Tell me about this proposal you were so insistent on telling me about," Fang said nervously.

Things couldn't get any worse for Fang. Hearing out Salika couldn't make his experience in his cage any worse than it was now.

Salika put her right index finger up and paused for a second before finally speaking.

Salika smiled widely, beaming with joy. "I think you should become my servant, how does that sound?"

"Wait, what?" Fang said dumbfounded. "Be your servant-"

"Oh right, I'm so rude," Salika said, smiling lightly now. "Tell me about yourself first, before you become my servant~"

The sudden change from plain and cool to excited and happy made Fang confused. "What do you mean tell me about myself?" He replied. He had no idea where the conversation was headed.

Salika sighed. "It's exactly as it sounds. If you're going to become my servant, I should at least become familiar with who you are. Not only that, but since you're a Cerulean, you don't have any records that document your existence or background."

Fang looked in the air, thinking about it for a second before finally realizing what she meant. "Wait a minute, I didn't agree on being your servant in the first place-"

Salika shot her right hand into the cage and shushed Fang's lips with her finger.

"I forgot to mention something," Salika said, smiling even harder. "Saying 'no' is never an answer for me."

Fang froze in place, surprised by Salika's finger against his lips. Although he was on guard and prepared for anything to happen, he somehow wasn't fast enough to react to her sudden movements.

Salika looked down at the stone-tiled ground and began snickering. Her left hand hovered over her mouth, trying to conceal her laughter.

"From what I can predict, it seems like you're going to be difficult," Salika said, shaking from trying to hold in her laughter. "I can't help it anymore; this is the only way."

Fang finally moved his head back from Salika's finger, not realizing that Salika was one step ahead, and her prediction was true.

Leaning forward, she hastily shoved her arm into the cage again. This time she grabbed the back of Fang's head and pulled him back to the front of the cage.

In the blink of an eye, Salika made her finger stick out straight, and shoved it inside Fang's mouth.

She swirled her fingers against the walls of Fang's wet fleshy cheeks and scraped his rough tongue gently with her nail. Her finger became slimy and wet with Fang's saliva. All of this happened in less than a second.

"Get the hell away from me!" Fang yelled out, slapping Salika's hand away from him and pulling away from her grip on his hair.

Salika quickly retracted her arm from out of the cage and sat back down on her knees as though nothing happened. "Feisty, aren't you?"

Fang wiped his lips with his forearm and spat out the saliva created from her finger inside his mouth. "Are you crazy! What's wrong with you?!"

Salika ignored Fang and stared at her glistening finger covered in his saliva.

"This is how we're going to form our master-servant contract," Salika said, smiling innocently. "I just chose to do it the special way."

Fang began letting out deep and heavy breaths. His mind was cluttered with thoughts. "Contract? Master and Servant? Why did she put her finger in my mouth? Is this girl insane?"

"Master-servant contracts are made through the mixture of DNA of the to-be master and to-be servant," Salika said, staring euphorically at her saliva-covered finger. "There are other means of forming these contracts, such as blood exchanges where two open wounds between two willing individuals touch causing their blood to mix together, or having a talented shaman connect the souls together."

Fang fell on his knees still trying to spit out and rid of the taste of Salika's finger. "Then why in the world would you choose the weirdest one?! Plus, I didn't even agree on becoming your servant!"

"I am a very talented shaman," Salika said. "I'm capable of many extraordinary things that you couldn't even fathom."

Salika stuck her saliva-coated finger inside her mouth, placing it on her tongue and tasting it. "It's not such an odd thing, what you make it out to be, whether good or bad, is your own fault."

As Fang finished spitting out the taste of Salika's finger, he felt a burning sensation against the right side of his neck.

Two sets of intertwined rings suddenly appeared, levitating in front of Fang and Salika's faces. Salika's rings had one ring that was colored gold and the other colored silver, whilst Fang's rings were both colored silver.

"And so, it commences," Salika said, closing her eyes.

The part where Fang's neck was burning began to light up and glow the color white. The rings that were in floating front of him shot at the light.

As the rings came in contact with the light, they began to burrow themselves inside Fang, piercing through his skin and causing blood to leak out.

The rings felt like heated-up pieces of metal scoring skin and brought Fang excruciating pain. He grabbed onto his neck and squirmed on the ground.

"Help me... Please..." Fang begged; his voice sounded like he was dying. His face was turning red and his body sprawled on the floor.

"Bear with it, Cerulean..." Salika said, gritting her teeth and sweating. "This is nothing..."

Salika's right-hand palm was glowing just like how Fang's neck was. They were both going through a similar process of the rings embedding themselves within them.

The rings, once completely under the skin, suddenly disappeared along with the pain. The wounds caused by the rings pushing through Fang and Salika's skin healed immediately, causing them to disappear. The healed wounds on either their neck or palm were then replaced by a brand of the intertwined rings instead.

Fang lay on the ground in defeat. His arms fell to his side as he took exhausted breaths before passing out.

"And just like that, the contract has been made official," Salika said, holding on tightly to her wrist and sweating.

"You belong to me now."
