3 Chapter 3: Underlings and Evolution

It has been a few days ever since my system became fully functional and I got my spirit ring as well as my skills. During this period of time our group has had a number of successful hunts while steadily growing stronger. Our current levels ordered from highest to lowest are Rou at 87, Me at 84, Kichi at 77 and Mi at 54. My spirit eyes were a great help as they would allow me to either support at a range or fight up close. Along side my brother's leadership we managed to defeat enemies that normal goblins could dream of. One such enemy was a snake that my brother referred to as a night viper. After eating it Rou gained the ability to create poison as well as a few others. Although I was really curious what they were I opted out on asking because I haven't told him all of my abilities. Another foe we faced were a group of only two orcs. The battle almost ended with our lost but luckily after I used my spirit sharing with my brother. He found way for us to be victorious even if narrowly,

Once our fierce struggle was over my brother pulled me to the side so we can talk about everything we hid from each other. As it urns out that not only were my guesses correct but he had the same feeling as me. He also explained about his previous world and absorption. Like I guessed it allowed him gain abilities and strength from things he have eaten. I also explained my system for the most part but choose to leave out the part about mister mysterious voice. Still when he heard about my system he went into a deep thought before saying we should explore it some more. I of course wholeheartedly agree with him. As our talk went on the sun soon set so we put the rest off for later to go to sleep. Later on as I was sleeping my senses alerted to me that there were a few presents making their to me and my brother. Before they had a chance to do anything to us, both of us struck first. Rou used his trusty horned rabbit horn to stab one of them in chest thus allowing poison to enter their blood. While on my side I simply opened my eyes to use spirit shock which blew my target's head up. The others took a step back after seeing what happened. We then went on to incapacitate the others so we can hear the reason why they attacked us.

As it turns out they were jealous of our successful hunts so they planed to capture us to make us hunt for them. Hearing their plan I could not help but feel both impressed and stunned at the same time. In a way the idea showed initiative but it was still foolish to think they can pull it off without coming up with a better method. After all the two of us have defeated more powerful enemies on a near constant basis.

Gobohou: Let me get this straight you guys thought that rather than asking us for help you thought it would be better to attack us.

My words seems to have hit a sore spot because I could see all of our attackers hanging their heads in shame. Rou on the other hand stood next to me in silence as his mind seemed to be moving a mile a minute. Finally he decided that we will go out to get enough food to feed everyone in the community. Even though I had some complaints about help these idiots one look form my bro changed my mind. At long last after a day of running around it was finally time to get some rest at least it was for everyone else. I instead have to look over the rewards I received for completing a hidden quest. The first thing I got was 5000 soul points to be used in either the store or gacha. Next was an increase to my soul power by two whole levels which brought me to a grand total of about 15. Lastly and perhaps best of all I received a random gacha ticket that gave any one random thing from any shop.

For now I decide to save all of my rewards for later so that I can use them in the best way possible. Thus I opted to meditate instead so I can improve my soul power. So far I still haven't bought a cultivation technique for now because according to the system it is unnecessary. Currently I simply need run my spirit power and the system will correct any mistakes. A while later I felt like I made enough progress so I decided to go to sleep for the night. While I slept a mechanical voice that sounded different from the system played in my head.

The last thing I can remember before I fell into a deep sleep was me selecting yes. The next morning I awake to find that not only did I evolve but did my brother and Goblin Kichi. While all three of us became hobgoblins there were some differences between. For example Goblin Kichi turned out like a normal hobgoblin but me and Rou were different. My brother's skin turned a pit black and my own turned a deep red. When we asked Goblin gramps about it he told us it is because we received blessings.

Rou was blessed by the great god of origin and demise who is said to be represented by the color black. My blessing came from the great god of nature and souls thus I turned red. Another thing that came from my evolution was that my soul power has increased even further. Now I have reached level 18 meaning I am only two levels away from my second ring.
