A quick peace

This system thing is very mysterious, I've seen so many strange things in my life but this was the strangest of them all.

I slowly stand up from the floor.

"Yes, no worries I'm alright" I ligthly pat Alice's head.

"Your not alright bro! what if, you have a terminal brain disease like...like in the movies!"

I gave her a bored look and pulled her cheeks.

"You watched too much tv, i told you I'm fine."

"wo! wets gwo wo wha wospiwal !" Alice bellowed, as she grabbed my hands that was pulling her cheek before trying hard to pull me with her tiny arms.

Staying still,and watched her struggled. she's huffing and puffing as she desperately pull me towards the door.

I poke her cheeks.

"You done yet?"

I smirked.

"Just go you...Duckface!" Alice said as she tried to pull me again the second time with all of her strength, but failed miserably.

"Bhaaa, you worrywart. Fine I'll go to the doctor for a check up."

I lied.

"I'm coming with-"

"No, I'll go on my own"

After few trying to reason with his little girl for a few more time, she finally let him go.

Cooking some food for me and Alice I can't help but be reminded of all the things i went through.

I promised myself that no manner what i wouldn't let that happen again.

Alice and I started eating our breakfast, i watch her while she's eating. I never have thought that something like this could happen, but here i am.

I took a bite from my own food.

My taste for food is back, its been decades since, i ate a normal meal since my ability prevented me from eating anything except mutant meat.

But it will be a matter of time before i lost my ability to eat human food. but lets forget about food for now and lets get my priorities straight.

My mother was working in Ze city, and she's isn't coming soon

I also forgot when day it was when the apocalypse started. i only know it was on this year.

I can't tell her to go home because she's think that I'm talking bullshit, but I remember talking to her in a phone even after two weeks when the mutation occurrences,

So im sure she's alive till then. which means i have two weeks at most to reach Ze city and save mom.

So that leaves me to worry about Alice, I couldn't protect her before. because where in the school. when the apocalypse started.

That means i need be by her side when the apocalypse start, and i need to train this body somehow, to even have to change of saving her. i hope i had time to do that.

Wait, I had practiced my combat skills for years! but, now it looks like this body don't have the muscle memory yet to perfectly execute those battle moves.

It looks like i need to train my skills and my body from the beginning.so I guess I'll start training now.

Close the System interface, I hurriedly ate my breakfast and stand up from the table walked towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Alice suddenly asked.

"Jogging." I answered.

"school?"

Wait, I forgot that I'm currently in my last year of highschool, but whats the use of going to school when the mutants started roaming this world?

"I'm, dropping out" I answered.

Alice looked at me, eyes widen in shock.

"Your, kidding me rigth?"

I shrugged.

"You...Poopy head, I'm going to call mom." Alice hurriedly pulled a phone and called mom.

She's going to call mom? huh.

Oh shit! she's going to call mom!

I tried to take the phone from Alice buy she managed to run away as soon as she saw me walking forward.

"Ma! Ma! Ma! Big Bro is dropping out of School!"

Alice glared at me.

"He just told me!"

"Yes"

Alice then walk near me and handed the phone.

"Ma, has something to say."

Alice gave me a sweet smile.

"Alice, you little!"

"Come on bro, Ma is waiting"

Alice smile grew bigger.

I snatched the phone from her hands. I felt my throat dry as i slowly place the phone in my ears.

"Er...Mom?"

"YURI, WHAT'S THE MEANING OF....bla bla bla bla bla "

I pulled the phone out of my ear.

"Calm down, mom I'm just joking!"

"THIS IS NOT A JOKING MATTER YURI- bla bla bla bla bla"

Pulled out the phone off ears again.

"Fine, sorry i wouldn't say something like that again!"

"WHAT DO YOU THINK WOULD HAPPEN TO YOU... bla bla bla bla."

I glared at Alice angrily.

"Are you happy now?"

Alice only gave me a smug look.

I put the phone back in my ear.

"I got it mom, sorry"

"You better be! get ready and go to school!"

"um..Yes!"

The call ended.

This would be a problem. I don't know when the will Apocalypse start. and I can't stop going to school because my mother would bombard me with her mouth until my ear bleeds.

This second life is already harder that i thought it would be.

I sigh as i scratch my head.

"Did Ma, motivate you enough to go to school now ?" Alice asked grinning ear to ear.

Seeing this, i pinch both of her cheeks in frustration.

"waaaaa, Wet gwo ow we!"

*Boom*

A huge deafening explosion rings to my ear.

"Brother what's that?" Alice asked with shaking voice.

Shit its already starting?

"Pack your things, we need to go!"

"Why?"
