Arc II: A Dragon’s Trial: chapter 1 “A Dragon’s Call”

I woke up feeling a burning secession in my chest.

"The one who is worthy of seeking me out, undergo my test and take what is rightfully yours!!!" Said a loud stern voice.

I ran down the hall to my partner's room at the inn and through the door open.

"Did you hear that?"

"Hear what?"She asked half asleep.

Her eyes shot open and I realized she was naked. As the blood start leaking from my nose. The next thing I know the nightstand that was next to her bed was slammed into my face.

>"Ever hear of knocking on the door pervert?!?!"<

"Sorry, sorry, please don't kill me." I said laying in the hallway within the growing pool of my own blood on the floor.

><SLAME><

The door was now closed.

"Let me get dressed and then we can talk."

A few moments later

"I don't believe you ever told me your name, I'm Will, I can't believe we've been in the same party without knowing each other's names for 2 days."

"Wow, it's been 2 days already, time flys, as for my name you'll have to beg."

I got down on the floor ready to beg.

"Wow I was just kidding we're party members so we stand on equal ground, my name is Rin, so what were you talking? I didn't hear anything."

"Really, it was louder than thunder, and I like your name it's quite short but memorable."

Rin looks away blushing.

"So what did it say?"

"Something about I am worthy of seeking out the voice and undergoing a test to take what is rightfully mine."

"It sounds like a dragon is communicating with you through soul speech."

(soul speech is a skill unique to GOD level creatures like ancient dragons, Celestials, and monster who have been given a job to protect sacred places for example Yetis guarding the portal to the realm of Gods.)

"Okay so an ancient dragon wants me to seek him out, sounds like a fun first quest for our party's debut."

"First seek the one know as The Greatest Beast Tamer they will help you find your way to me." The dragon's voice roared in my head.

"The dragon said the one known as The Greatest Beast Tamer will help us on our quest," I say with no clue who the dragon is talking about.

"Oh, I've heard of her she lives in Prometheus the 2nd largest city in all of The Kingdom of Titan.

"Woof, woof," the hellhound we had named Alexander-Nina or Fusion for short barked excitedly with his tail wagging.

"Do you want to come too boy?" Rin said while playing with Fusion.

"Before we go we should get some new gear," I said looking at our trashed light armor.

"That is true," Rin replied quickly.

We headed to the armor-smith to get some new light armor as ours was on the verge of becoming dust.

We had to drop Fusion off with the Guild worker who was the only one who would watch him, because Animals and monsters are not allowed in stores in Atlas.

"Hey youz got any money punk?" Asked a red faced man.

"Yes but I don't support alcoholism," I retort.

The man grabbed Rin and pointed a sword at me.

"Youz pay or she dies."

"Alright here's your money," I say before throwing a sack of coin at his face while grabbing my knife.

His hand hit the ground along with his sword.

"You little shit... die!" the drunken man yelled at the top of his lungs while running at me with his one fist clenched.

I then proceed to punch the side of his head knocking him out.

"I don't need your death on my hands," I say in a cold tone of voice.

"Rin are you alright?" I ask.

"Yes just a bit surprised I've never seen you in action before, I must say you've got skills."

We proceeded to the armor-smith to finish what we came here to do.
