Waking Up

[The boy's gone Odin, Chronos. You can both speak now.] said god as he had his head lowered in serious thought.

[That boy's request will cause a stir once Anubis hears of us granting his request.] stated Odin while speaking into the mind of the God of Light.

[We penalized him harsher than we would like just to make sure we are within rules, that's all that matters. Plus when have any of us been afraid of the Egyptian gods?] The god of light seemed to be agitated at the mention of the opposing gods.

[Never, but they now have Zeus's help, and we all know that he's not to be taken likely in the least bit, Yahweh.] intervened Chronos the God of Time.

[We will worry about that once the contest reaches the next level. For now, we need to see who the winner is between our chosen children.] stated the God of light in a now more agitated manner.

Back on the new Earth, a young man who looks around 12-13 years old is laying in a white bed that looks to be made for patients. His long blonde hair seems unkempt, his face handsome, but rough from a lack of upkeep, and his body thin from malnutrition. This is Michael and he's about to wake up.

"AGHHHHHHHHHH!"

"AHHHHH!!!! "

Michael wakes up in excruciating pain, every cell in his body feels as if it's exploding constantly. He's never felt this much pain in his last life, this frail body of his feels as if it should wither away any minute now.

Nurses make their way quickly to his room to find that he's awoken in a large amount of pain, but before they can panic they see that his eyes have turn a golden hue. They yelp in excitement forgetting about their patient for a minute. In this world, it's a rare occasion for any human to self awaken their talent before the age of fourteen. This is an event you only hear about in the news for children of famous families or children of well-known awakeners.

Coming back to their senses, they administer a drug to calm Michael so he can relax while his body adjusts to his knew talent.

Only if they knew it's take an entire month for his adjustment to complete.

One Month Later,

Michael finally awakens again to find himself in a white hospital room dressed in a gown laid across a typical medical bed. He sees that he's connected to medical equipment, some familiar, and some that look straight out of a fantasy movie.

"What the hell was with that pain! And couldn't he warn me at least?!" Said Michael in a flustered tone. He still recalls the pain from his awakening and couldn't stop himself from thinking out loud.

"First thing you do after being born again is complain?" Asked a white cat sitting at the window.

Michael gets startled and wants to jump up into a defensive stance, it was a mental reflex that he was accustomed to. Unfortunately, Michael isn't in Brandon's body, and the medical wires cause him to be yanked the moment he gets up too quickly, his body is weak so once he's yanked by the wires he falls down dramatically causing the white cat to laugh uncontrollably.

"My father told me you were interesting, who knew you'd be a clown instead of a champion?!" Pftttttttt laughed the cat while Michael crawls back on the bed.

"Why is a talking cat here and who are you"? Asked Michael feeling more and more uneasy. He remembered god speaking about the different races, but he didn't expect to see something so strange the moment he woke up.

"I'm your familiar idiot, did you already forget what my father said? Also, my name is Uriel." Stated the small cat in a proud but adorable manner

"Uriel? As in the Angel?" Michael had an interested expression on his face now.

"Of course, the one and only Archangel Uriel." Uriel felt proud that humans still remembered her name throughout the many different universes, even those with no magic.

"Why is an angel my familiar? I just thought I'd be given some low level assistant."

"This contest of champion is of great importance, all contestants have a familiar that at their peak, are just as powerful as low level gods." Uriel wanted Michael to understand that even if a contestant was trash, they still had the sponsorship of a High level god, and the direct help of an equal to lower level gods.

"So the familiars for the other two contestants?"

"Fenrir of Lord Oden's camp, and the all seeing eye that has accompanied Lord Chronos for eons."

Michael was shocked and left speechless, this information wasn't something he imagined. Fenrir was a famous wolf known to attack gods. He understood that the familiars of his enemies are truly powerful.

"If that is so, then how powerful are you all right now?" Asked Michael as he held his breath waiting on an answer.

"I'm literally a kitten, I'm weaker than you, and as for them, they both have had twelve years to grow, so in this area we I'm the weakest currently. "Also, thank you for that with your unreasonable request by the way human." Uriel began to lick her claws, enjoying the sun shining on her fur through the window as if she had no care in the world.

"He said I'd be at a disadvantage and now I see that. I want to know exactly what type of situation we're in and how bad it is. Can you help me with that?" Michael took a deep breath ready to understand the mountain he has to climb.

Uriel stops licking her claws looking at Michael with a gaze of seriousness.

"I can but I doubt you truly want to hear this. You weren't just put at a disadvantage, you were royalty screwed."

Michael had a blank look spread across his face, he didn't know what to say and was afraid of asking for clarity.

"Well let's get this story started of how it'll be hell just playing catch up for the next two years. You were told that children here awaken as early as twelve, but that was technically wrong. Those rich children train and eat magical medicine for years before they awaken at twelve. That increases their chances of awakening more than one talent, it also helps boost their talent and grade from the moment they awaken. You on the other hand basically died from it and then lost a month."

"Those are just the regular children that I speak of, the heaven blessed individuals on the other hand either reincarnated or transmigrated and were able to practice and awaken much earlier than twelve. On top of that they all have multiple top grade talents that are only slightly inferior to you three champions. Speaking of the other two, they kept their memories at birth, were born in prominent families, awakened much earlier, and have the help of their familiars. You on the other hand, have no family, no support, and had to poop in a bag because you were stuck in a coma."
