179 The lair

As the dark vortex subsided, the two new figures stood before Kaden, their forms solidifying from the shadows. 

The first to emerge was a towering humanoid entity, its stature imposing and covered in armor that seemed to absorb the light around it, not reflecting but swallowing the brightness into its dark surface. 

Its head was also covered by pitch-black armor so it was not possible to discern the creature's face beneath the mask. Its eyes, however, glowed with a fierce, inner fire, promising devastation to any who dared cross its path.

Kaden hurriedly checked its special skill and saw that the Guardian was a formidable defender with the ability to absorb and redirect damage back to its attackers. He had gotten an upgraded tank!
