Let's Get Down To Business

[Day 17]

It was a peaceful day- not, Winter Lily decided to train together, forming teams based on occupations.

The Scholars are divided into two groups, Team A, MincyKate and me, Team B consisted of BaekGi, Niira, and Chubs. The Physicians also formed a team with Arianel and Minchin while Vasi and Syane formed one because there is no one with the same occupation.

Team B practiced long-range attacks, the Physicians team is training different types of paralysis spell with the fishes we caught by the river, Vasi and Syane are testing who has higher defensive force by being the Team B's practice target.

Team A, however, is practicing accuracy, it was Mincy's idea but it seems funnier than immobilizing a fish. We are using the wind type magic Puff to clean up the scattered leaves and put them in a basket.

Minzie: "How much longer do we need to do this Mincy?"

Mincy: "Until we clean off all the leaves Min"

Minzie: "But the trees are still shedding their leaves"

Mincy: "You can't fight nature after all"

I just sighed and focused on our training, making sure not to get distracted by the fun training of Team B.

My shoulders were sore after the leaves stopped falling down the branches.

The other teams were still on their training, Team B is taking turns on hitting the targets. Surprisingly, both Syane and Vasi are still standing strong on their spot.

Minch: "You two, aren't you tired yet?"

Syane: "Not until Vasi gives up first"

Vasi: "Don't push yourself too hard Syane, you just recovered from the last battle you were in"

Syane: "Just give up then if you're worried about me"

Minzie: "Syane don't use such dirty tactics"

Vasi raised both her hands signaling that she's quitting.

Vasi: "Syane is persistent, he won't stop till I get defeated, let's end this here"

Syane: "Yes! I won, you just realized you won't win against me Vasi"

Syane laughed to his heart's content with the feeling of pride from supposedly winning against Vasi.

I went over to Arinael and checked on her progress.

Minzie: "Arianel, how is the training?"

Arinael: "It was harder than I expected, I mean how can paralyzing a fish be harder than paralyzing Syane, Min?"

She pouted and hugged me, but due to our height difference, my face landed on her chest. I patted her back gently and she released me.

Minzie: "This just proves that Syane is a lower being than a fish, it is not your fault so don't worry Arinael"

Arinael: "Are you sure?"

Minchin hearing our talk walked towards us with her arms crossed.

Minch: "As much as I don't wanna spoil your fun, Arinael please keep on practicing or else you'll become like that fish you're trying to paralyze since an hour ago"

Arinael: "Understood ma'am"

Minch: "And Min, be a little more lenient on insulting Syane, if some other students hear you it might become a bad thing for your reputation"

Minzie: "Okay..."

Minch: "I prepared lemonade, go get some I'm sure you're thirsty"

Arinael: "Alright"

Minzie: "Thank you"

After we've freshened up we decided to form a circle and take note of what we learned per team.

The physicians' team went first, Arinael stood up in the middle and smiled proudly.

Arinael: "Ahem, back then when a Bean Mouse was attacking Min, I actually tried to paralyze it but it didn't work because I usually stay away from practicing my skills on small critters like rats, but today Minch made me practice with a slimy fish, at first I totally hated the idea of it but gradually I learned to appreciate what she was trying to make me realize. When you're faced with an undesirable situation you can't just turn your back on it, you have to face it head-on. Being afraid is okay but giving up without trying is not."

After her speech, she looked in my direction.

Arinael: "From now on no one can bully my Min, not even that filthy mouse"

Chubs: "You do realize Min is the one bullying us from time to time tho?"

Arinael: "Yes, but all is fine I can tolerate that much for our youngest member, that is how much I love you Min~"

She went over to me and cuddled me, once again the height difference is showcased.

Syane: "Stop spoiling the kid"

Minzie: "You act more like a kid than I do"

Syane: "This is an unfair treatment you know, I should be considered a Harem King"

Chubs: "Unfortunately for you, we have Mr. Yi as our faction's supervisor"

Minzie: "The moon is always outshined by the sun"

Mincy: "And the moon gets its light from the sun, so without the sun the moon is a stone"

Syane: "Gahh! everyone is against me now, Min you're so evil enticing even the new members to your side"

Our bickering was interrupted when BaekGi cleared her throat. Arinael went back to her spot and Niira then stood in the middle.

Niira: "Today our team practiced various magic spells that we normally wouldn't do, Baek used electric type attacks, Chubs tried fire, and I went with earth-based magic. This just showcases how vast the world of magic is"

Chubs suddenly raised her hands which caught all of our attention.

Chubs: "In addition to that, we also learned that Syane, as much as he loves using fire-based attacks, he hates receiving them"

Syane: "No one wants to get burned by fire attacks"

Vasi: "Then why do you use fire type spells?"

Syane: "Because fire reflects my burning passion for training hard"

Syane put his hands on his waist and pointed his nose proudly upwards and everyone just sighed in defeat.

Niira sat back down on her place and Vasi stood up next.

Vasi: "Today Syane and I really couldn't train as much as the other teams but we did get to experience a long term defense mode"

Syane: "And you lost against me"

Minch: "Actually, Vasi's defense was better than you Syane"

Syane: "I'll just go and cry on a corner"

Vasi: "Don't worry Syane it just means that you can still improved"

Syane suddenly stood up and clasped both of Vasi's hand.

Syane: "Vasi you're an angel"

Vasi: "Uh, I just said the truth Syane"

Without realizing it, I flicked a pebble that I found on the ground to Syane's hand which made him flinch and release Vasi's hands.

Minzie: "Get away from her"

I glared at Syane and he stared back at me and when we didn't show any sign of stopping, Minch clapped to catch our attention.

Minch: "I believe it's time to move on"

Syane: "Right"

Minzie: "Mm..."

Syane and Vasi got back to their sits and I stood up to take the center spot.

Minzie: "Today we only practiced accuracy by using a simple wind spell to gather all the leaves, at first I thought it was no fun but now I think it paid off since I easily hit Syane's hand with a pebble"

Syane: "Hey, that's not the point of our training now is it?"

Minzie: "A pebble is useful on its own way, like we've seen earlier it can drive off perverts"

Syane: "I'm not a pervert!"

Chubs: "Should I tell them what I found in the book you lent me?"

Syane: "Gah! don't be a traitor, we're classmates"

Minch: "When will these kids stopping arguing?"

BaekGi: "You'll get used to it"

Mincy: "They seem to be having a lot of fun though"

And we spent the rest of the day arguing instead of training.
