Unexpected Enemy
Arthur had just finished putting the 8 wild rabbits' corpses in his [Inventory]. He sheathed his sword and began walking back to the village until he heard a roar
*ROOOAAAR!*
Arthur snapped his neck to the source of the sound and saw a large boar. It was only slightly taller than Arthur but was a lot heavier.
The boar glared at Arthur with red eyes, and a face with scars on it. It also had very thick fur.
The boar grunted and got into a charging position as if it was waiting for Arthur to make a move.
Seeing this, Arthur quickly took out his sword and also took a stance.
After about a few moments of them staring at each other, they both took off.
They got closer and closer until Arthur dodged to the right and jumped to slash the boar.
Unfortunately, it only left a flesh wound.
'Tch...This one isn't as easy as the rabbi-' Arthur was thinking before noticing the boar turning around fast and sprinting towards him.
"Fast!" Arthur said as he was getting ready to land but was soon hit by the Boar.
*BOOM!*
Arthur's body flew like a ragdoll, breaking numerous trees from the hit that he's just taken. After breaking 11 trees, he was stopped on the 12th as his body came to a stop and fell on the ground.
"PUHhh" Arthur coughed up a mouthful of blood.
....
[You've lost 300 HP]
....
"...T-This pain is too much" Arthur exclaimed.
The boar was several feet away from Arthur and noticed that Arthur was very much weaker than it.
....
[Before the fight started]
The boar was roaming around before this, being very bored. He was looking for something to fight but ended up only meeting rabbits, foxes, and snakes.
Fortunately, he stumbled upon a human who expertly took down 8 wild rabbits like it was nothing.
He got excited and challenged the human, hoping for a decent fight.
However, the human wasn't much of a challenge. He was about to get angry at the human but thought he should toy with him before killing him.
Several feet away from the human, the boar waited until he was up and ready.
....
'This boar is a lot stronger than the rabbits I've fought before. Its skin is incredibly tough. Even if I put all my points in the [Strength] stat, I doubt I can kill it before getting hit again.
Not only is he very strong, and durable, he's very fast too. I doubt he'll let me escape, and knowing that this is a game, I can't log out since I'm in combat.
I need to think of a way to beat him, without getting hit' Arthur thought as he stood up and decided to use his [AP].

[+2 Strength]
[+2 Agility]
....
Arthur felt his body becoming stronger and lighter. It felt much better than a few minutes ago.
'I put all of my points in Strength and Agility. I can now, to an extent, do a little damage while being a bit faster' Arthur thought and looked at the beast.
Arthur stretched and was getting ready for round 2.
'This boar probably doesn't have the best sight so I can completely destroy his eyes. I don't have anything to destroy his other senses, so this is my best option' Arthur decided.
Arthur then slowly walked towards the boar, while it did the same.
As they walked to each other, they gradually began to increase their speed until they were fully sprinting toward each other.
They were really close now, and the boar tried to ram Arthur a second time, but couldn't because Arthur jumped and turned his body, slashing its eyes.
*Slash! Slash!*
Arthur landed and could hear the roars of pain from the boar
*ROOOAAR!*
Arthur turned around and saw the boar ram into a boulder, which stunned him for a few moments.
Using this time, Arthur had a thought
'If I can't do damage on the outside of his body, that doesn't mean I can't do it within'
Arthur had a plan, while the boar was still stunned.
Arthur started running at the boar, running as fast as he could, and managed to do a lot of damage
*Pierce!*
*ROOOOOOOOOOAR!*
....
[Your proficiency has increased to level 4]
....
Arthur pierced through a place where his tough skin wouldn't protect, and that was his rear.
The boar dropped to the floor, screeching in pain as it dragged its body away from Arthur.
Both Arthur and the Boar made a mistake today, and that was to underestimate each other.
Arthur closed the blue screen and slowly walked to the Boar, letting it have its last struggle as he kept dragging his body.
Arthur walked in front of the boar and looked into its eyes and sarcastically said
"That was a little cruel of me to end you like that. You were kind enough to let me get up and get ready, but this was the only way I could beat you in my current condition. I'm sorry"
The Boar glared at Arthur with immense hate and grunted and roared
*Pierce*
That was the Boar's final moments before his life came to an end.

As Arthur killed the Boar, he sat down in the pool of blood, catching his breath.
Arthur didn't even care about the blue screen that appeared in front of him. The only thing that was on his mind right now was to catch his breath, process the fight, and store the boar in his [Inventory].
'I got cocky just because I defeated measly wild rabbits...what a joke' Arthur scoffed at himself as he shook his head.
Arthur was very kind, while also competitive. He always tried to better himself in anything, no matter what it was.
When it came to his family, he took everything seriously, but this is the first time he let his guard down from overestimating himself, which caused him to take a backlash.
Arthur didn't know what the consequences of dying were. Arthur didn't want to get left behind by the others, even though he knew that he still had to go to work on the weekdays.
"Sigh...moping around won't get me anywhere, the only thing I can do is learn from it and move on" Arthur cheered himself up and put his hand on the boar.

[Would you like to store [x1 Tier-1 Wild Boar] in your [Inventory]?]
[Yes/No]
....
Arthur took a deep breath and said, "Yes"
The Boar disappeared from Arthur's view, turning into pixels.
Arthur stood up and flicked his sword to remove the coated blood, then sheathed it in his scabbard.
Arthur was a bit curious about what his stats looked as of now so he decided to bring up his status board
"Status"

(A/N: As I said before, starting this chapter I would simplify the status board to only show what has been changed. I'll post his whole status board at the bottom of the chapter for those who are interested in seeing it).

"Although it was a tough ending, the rewards were nice" Arthur said to himself as he looked at his status.
"I think if I put 1 AP into Agility, it'll change the SP value by 50" Arthur deduced from seeing the changes.
"If [Agility] changes my [SP] value, then my [Vitality] will change my [HP], and [Intelligence] would change my [MP]" Arthur thought aloud.
Being satisfied with the current changes, he closed the status board and took a deep breath, and said
"I think it's finally time I turn in the quest"
