rare connection

Life is given for free but happiness comes with a cost that many can't afford to pay. *********** Even with the dark grey clouds that hovered over the vast sky and the dim light provided by the fire torch that was on the verge of being blown off by the wind, he could still see the glimmer in her eyes. The very same glimmer that appeared in those brown eyes everytime she was happy and for some reason, tonight he was unable to resist hir urges to steal a part of her. She was still standing by the door waiting for him to leave but he had not taken more than three steps before he halted and turned. His features were darker in contrast to the white shirt that he wore and the look on his face was a predatory one. Instead of getting scared, she watched him take the three stairs that led to her room's door and he was a few inches away from her, he finally spoke up. "If there is one thing that I hate, it's having regrets and I know that I will regret if I do not do this." A part of her was confused by his words and another part felt like she knew what he meant by those words. Before she even had a chance to contemplate on what he had just said, he leaned closer, curled his index finger on her pointed chin and tilted her in an angle such that she could feel his cold breath on her face that caused a shiver to run down her spine. Like she had been hypnotized, all she could do was to stare in those obsidian eyes that had held her captive. "This is a mistake that I want to commit again and again." His breath fanned on her face and goosebumps formed on her skin. Not because of the wind, but because of the effect he had on her. If it was some time before, she would have probably pushed him away or maybe escaped but as time had passed by, her feelings towards him had changed...

spring gala

In the midst of the crowd, Richard and princess Lilith walked hand in hand until they came to stand in a place that was not much crowded where there were couples swinging and Richard turned to look at the princess who was fascinated by what she was seeing.

"You want to swing?"

"Isn't it meant for children?" She asked back even though she could see adults swinging. "Come on." Richard tugged her towards on of the empty swing and once she sat on the swim_ set, he pushed her without head's up. "....aah!" It was exhilarating and at the same point she could feel her heart slip out of her chest every time he pushed her away.

After some minutes, they walked away from there but not before paying a silver coin to the man who had organized this. Every experience that Richard gave her was nothing like she never felt as he made sure that she could have a taste of all of it.

With all the excitement that she received, she had already let her guard down forgetting that she was a princess who was supposed to behave in a certain manner. She had had a chance to eat some foods that she had never eaten before and the last taste that still lingered in her mouth was that one of a grilled meat.

There were gazes on them everywhere they went. Most people were curious about this new pair that they had never seen before but no one attempted to talk to them. Princess Lilith was tired from all the walking and talking not to forget that her engagement happened earlier today but she did not complain with hope that all this would not end.

The haunted house was the last place they visited and when they came out, princess Lilith who was really scared was holding Richard's arm but when she realized what she was doing she let him go. On their way to the exit, there was an old man who was selling jewelry and something caught Richard's eye.

"You want to buy this for your wife." Before princess Lilith had a chance to clarify their realationship, Richard bit her to it. "Yes. Give me that one that has the blue stones." It was a golden bracelet that could attract anyone from afar and he was not willing to leave it behind.

"It's five gold coins."

Handing out the money, they exited and headed to an isolated area where they varnished .

"Thank you for tonight." She sencerely said while creating a space between them. Her hair was all messy and she tried to tame it with her fingers. Richard who saw her subtle movements took a step closer to her and took her hand in his where he ran his fingers in her inner wrist and his small action made her heart skip.

"It looks good on you." He commented after putting the bracelet on her wrist. And princess Lilith's hand moved to touch the stones that decorated it. "I can't take this."He had expected her to reduce but that did not mean that he would not coax her into accepting. "A thank you cannot suffice, maybe a kiss on the lips would do." He remarked while holding her captive under his gaze.

"I will keep this." She quickly evaded his request. "There is one more thing. I want you to thank me while using my name. Say, thank you Ricky...Go on." He coaxed her and after gathering her courage she repeated what he had said. "Thank you Ricky." She awkwardly said and those words brought a satisfied smile on his face.

"I will leave you to rest. Good night princess." Unlike how he got into her room, this time he stepped out of the room through the window and immediately he left, she closed the windows and stood there while admiring the bracelet that adorned her wrist.

It had been a long day for her and so many things had happened in a single day and most of them made her happy. She had met him today and yet it felt like he knew what she had been yearning for which made her let out a laugh as she recalled all the crazy things that they had done.

The first thing that she did was to take a bath and once she had put on her night gown, she placed the blue dress that she had been wearing on a small drawer that was on her bedside table.

When she slipped her body into the blankets, sleep much quicker than it usually did and she dived into the darkness that brought her good dreams.

Richard who was now seated at the fireplace in his room that brought warmth in the dimly lit room had already drunk two glasses of blood but it did not fill his hunger and as his eyes stared at the fire continued to blaze unceasingly, his memory went back to her neck that he had lightly touched and he could still recall how her pulse felt underneath his hand which made his fangs ache. He had been women before but none of them elicited this kinds of feelings that were really hard to control.

Not able to take it anymore, he took his coat that was on his bed and left the mansion. His eyes had darkened and his fangs ached with the need to sink into something warm. He had always thought that he was in control but he could now feel that wall crumbling at the mere thought of her. As he continued to walk through the lonely path, his ears tried to pick any slight movements and when he heard something move, his lips curled into a devious smile before he apparated from there.
