Chapter 52: Rings and Crowns

The military of Ransang organized the 21-Gun salute during my father’s funeral alongside Marcial’s.

People may have wondered why Marcial was buried as a hero and not a traitor, but many don’t understand the fact that he might have organized a failed coup d’état yet he was also the reason why the government now returned to normal.

General Randall understood it. Marcial was a brother to him as he was to me even if he made the choices that destroyed him in the end.

I still stayed at the General’s mansion before we get married. Because of my father’s funeral, it will still take six months for another significant event to be permitted to occur as a custom.

During the six months, I was grateful for Madam Andrea, Runi, and Kendra to keep me company especially that I’ve been lying awake at night while still thinking of my father.

The General was also kind enough to visit my father’s and mother’s tombs with me every now and then.
