100th teacup

"Why is it.. in television series, and books, love shines and beams with the colors of happiness.... Why is my love.... so heavy and unpleasant"

As I walk along the streets, through the busy crowds of people. Suddenly a familiar figure has caught my attention. It was her. She stood there, in front of the fountain in the middle of the park. "Ahh.. so pure and serene," I told myself as I watch her from afar. She isn't that pretty, with shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes. But her eyes that speak her feelings and her pureness is not something you see often nowadays. "So she did wear the one piece dress that I mentioned on the phone." I thought to myself as I gaze at her quietly.

**ring** "Hey, what's up?" "Riyuuji! I need your help, ahm you see, we are going to have a date, and I ah.. I'm wondering what to wear? You seem to know more about clothes than me and since your, a guy, ahm your opinion might be much helpful than my girlfriends' opinion. I want to impress him you see." She said stumbling with her words, faint embarrassment detected on her tone. "Well if you ask me, I find one piece dresses suit you a lot with your body figure and slim legs. It's very ladylike too if you ask me, and you need to show her you are a lady coz you're a bit boyish." I replied, laughing and enjoying her grunts. "Riyuuji! I'm seriously in a pinch right now and you're making fun of my situation, you know it's my first time to experience loving someone please take this seriously.. jeez." "Alright, alright, I was just teasing you. The sky blue one-piece dress that we bought together last year is good. Hmm, and try fixing your hair into a ponytail. That look suits you the best." I told her while I imagine her wearing it. "Thank you! I trust your judgment much more than mine, thanks for the time and advise! Oh, my friends are calling me, we're going to have lunch right now, catch you up later!" She said as I hear girls and noise in the background hurrying her up, and heard things falling to the ground, then the call ended. "Such a clumsy girl," I said and a faint smile formed on my lips.

"I knew it. that look suits you the best." I said as I look at her and memorize her image standing there. She looks at her phone from time to time and clutches her hands in front of her chest nervously. The fountain behind her rose and it looks so beautiful that it perfectly accompanied her serene image under the warm sun rays. "A feast to one's eyes on this bright summer day." I thought to myself.

"Hi, I'm sorry if I arrived late. Did you wait that long?" a guy said while running towards her. "No, I only just arrived." She said, and I turned my back and started walking again.

I arrived at the University and quickly made my way to the ceramics department. "Senpai you're here early." a junior schoolmate greeted me and I only nodded in response, to which I gained a quizzical look from her. I quickly sat in front of the wheel throwing and proceeded to make teacups.

"Your concentration is always admirable Riyuuji." Someone spoke which broke my daze. "It's already 6 pm in the evening." My professor smiled at me making me realize it really is getting dark outside. "I'm sorry Sensei I didn't notice," I replied. "I asked you to make teacups as gifts for the alumni meeting but it looks to me like they have enough to take home for their families as well." He said as he turns his head to the lined up teacups. "I ah-- sorry sensei, I didn't notice I already made more than what was required." I quickly stand up and bowed my head in apology. Sensei only looked at me with gentle eyes slowly walking towards the teacups and other students' ceramic works. "Life can sometimes be very tricky. Sometimes it gives you questions which answer you can't find, only to stumble upon them in the most unexpected situations, you may never know maybe you can find an answer on the 100th teacup you will make today." He said as he carefully looks at the teacups. He then walked towards me and gave me a light pat on the shoulder and said. "Just ride with life's way of questioning and challenging you. We are always not given what we wanted, but what is given to us at the moment is surely what we needed." and he proceeded to walk out of the room.

"Well, I guess time to make that 100th teacup then." with a slight smile forming my on my lips, I sat down in front of the wheel throwing and proceeded to make teacups.
