I often have flashes of inspiration that form poetry. So no consistent updates,just sporadic bits of fun

I should have known

From the look in your eye

I should have known

From the difference in desire

I should have known

From the chill of your lips on mine

That we were meant to end-

But I wanted to be blind.

I should have known

From the sweet nothing's went missing

I should have known

From the absence of three words in our texts good night

I should have known

From the way I prepared to say goodbye

That we'd go back to being friends-

But I wanted to be blind.

I should have known

From the warmth was fading

I should have known

From our priorities

I should have known

From the pattern in my history

That from cloud nine I would have to descend-

But I wanted to believe

In Us

In You and Me

In the possibilities

I knew I could see the light at the end of the tunnel-

And as I cut the red tie

I wished with all my heart

That I could just be blind.
