The ghost of you lies everywhere

Three days past

The heart I gave away

Returned to me unharmed

No hole like in the stories

No emptiness hidden inside

Nothing to fill, I'm quite alright

But like a chipped plate I feel imperfect

A tiny fracture I left behind

I feel lost when I keep my distance

I have to remind myself

We both need time to heal

The event was so recent

It feels all too real

I see you in the goodnight texts we no longer send

I see your face when I think of my best friends

I see you in your favorite colors

The awkwardness will haunt us

For quite a bit of time
