Mommy

I took my position just in front of the fog wall. Aristia and Oscar are slowly walking towards the other end, awaiting the appearance of the Taurus Demon. As they do so, I prepare my spell.

What to use this time? A huge lance just like with Asylum Demon? A missile? Or perhaps just bombard it with countless Soul Bots? Hmm... Yeah, that'll work.

I raised my catalyst and gathered soul power at the tip. It started as a cluster of blue glowing specks of light, then it slowly took shape. Well, shapes. The specks of light began to cluster together, forming several orbs.

One, three, five... eventually, the number reached a satisfactory thirty. And I began to shape them. The length of a ruler, shaped like a cylinder with a cone on one end. Yep, missiles again. But instead of one, 30 of them.

Five seconds was all it took for 30 missiles to hover around me, awaiting command. At the same time, Aristia and Oscar reached halfway the bridge, triggering the Taurus Demon's appearance.

"Arthur, five seconds!" Aristia yelled before running back. Oscar followed suit.

The Taurus Demon appeared at the top of the other tower. It jumped down, shaking the bridge. I've thought of just destroying the bridge itself to kill it but it'll just be a dumb idea.

Anyways, Taurus Demon looks really ugly. It's pretty much what you'll expect from a Taurus Demon. Actually, calling it a minotaur is much more fitting. It's hairy, bull head, and a big arse axe.

It's definitely a minotaur.

Anyways, Aristia and Oscar managed to gain some distance as the minotaur began to take a step forward. Seeing its actions, Aristia signaled.

"Whoop." And thirty missiles shot out like a rocket.

The speed is quite fast, actually. Since the head of the missiles is a cone, air resistance is reduced. Powered with soul power, it went pretty fucking fast. It didn't even take a second before the missiles bombarded the poor minotaur.

A single one made it stumble back, and wit 29 more it just got outright murdered. Continuous explosions rung out one after another, shaking the bridge yet again. I'm surprised this haven't collapsed yet. Anyways, minotaur got fucking massacred.

An influx of souls and that signals the end of a boss battle. Cool.

"Alright, let's go." Aristia took command yet again and gestured. The body of the minotaur, same as the Asylum Demon, turned to mist. I don't know what's up with that, and I don't think I would try to know. From the spot where it disappeared, a humanity sprite and a homeward bone sat. Aristia took them and we continued our way.

"That is quite a powerful spell, Arthur." As we walked along the bridge, Oscar commented beside me.

"Why, thank you. I spent 20 seconds on it." I replied.

We crossed the bridge, appearing inside the other tower. Going past it, we entered a hallway leading to a stairs leading downward. Aristia hummed before smashing a crate before the stairs. Inside it is a dried-up corpse with a Large Soul of a Lost Undead.

"It fascinates me how she finds those items." Oscar commented.

"Me too." I don't even remember how to go through Darkroot Basin.

We went down the stairs, only to get greeted with another one. So we went down yet again. Exiting the tower, we reached the long, wide bridge.

"Arthur, wanna go meet someone?" Aristia nudged me as I prepare to send a volley of Soul Bolts at the hollows on the bridge.

"Eh? Oh!" A second of confusion, then realization. How could I forgot? It's the best guy in the entire game. Meeting him is essential.

"Someone? An acquaintance of yours, perhaps?" Oscar was confused.

"Well, not really." Aristia scratched her cheek before heading right towards the platform.

Down a set of stairs and we saw an armored man, staring into the sun. A sword rests in its scabbard on his waist, and a circular shield with the emblem of a sun on it laid on the corner.

Though his body seems a bit off. He's not this slender, wasn't he?

Aristia seemed to ignore the difference and went to meet the Astoran. And that's when I realized. I'm in a fanfiction. Of fucking course, it has to be like that.

As Aristia entered Solaire's eyes, the knight turned around. The face is hidden behind a thick head armor, only leaving a gap around the eyes for sight.

"Ah, hello!" The gentle voice of a lady greeted us. Aristia was stumped, and I hit my face with the strongest force my palm could virtually muster.

"You don't look hollow, far from it!" The knight(ess) hummed, seeing our appearance. Oscar just stood on the side, wondering why I'm taking deep breaths.

"I am Solaire of Astora, adherent of the Lord of Sunlight." Solaire greeted us with a gentle voice. It comforts me that the name is still the same. But getting used to a female Solaire is going to take quite an amount of time.

"H-hello. I'm Aristia, a seer." Aristia introduced herself, shaking off the confusion.

"I am Oscar, a knight of Astora. A pleasure to meet a fellow Astoran." Oscar introduced himself next, earning a nod from Solaire.

"I'm Arthur. Resident degenerate creep with a thing for armpits." I introduced myself last, my words earning me a nudge from Aristia.

"Ara ara, nice to meet you."

You know, the thing in anime where characters would hold their chest after witnessing something cute might actually have some truth in them. It felt like getting struck by a 16-wheeler truck in the face.

I can tell Aristia is confused with Solaire's choice of words. How does "ara ara" even became a thing here? Japan doesn't even exist here.

Anyways, I'm going to ignore the bullshit logic that's occurring in front of me. If you like it, just roll with it.

"Might I ask, are you three on a journey?" Solaire asked, tilting her head to the side. At this point, I really want to see her face.

"Yes. We want to break this curse and end suffering for all." Aristia clenched her fist.

I wonder what her decision will be once we reached the kiln. It's going to be hard choosing, but well... I do hope the author of my life can figure something out. Heh.

"Ah, breaking the curse." Solaire hummed before removing her helmet. It seemed to be quite a trouble to remove but she eventually managed to get it off of her he-oh.

"Can you be my mom?"

- - - -

"You're weird." Aristia deadpanned.

"You're just jealous." I retorted, sinking into my mom's thighs.

"This is confusing." Oscar is terribly lost.

"Why would you even agree to his demand?" Aristia sighed.

"He seemed really passionate about it." Solaire responded with a smile before brushing my hair.

Yes, fuck you normies. I'm getting a lap pillow from mommy Solaire and she's even brushing my hair. Speaking of Solaire, she looks quite amazing. Long blonde hair, blue eyes, and just... perfect.

The best girls are always the female version of the homies.

"We really need to go now." Aristia rudely kicked my feet.

"Why?"

"We have to fight a gargoyle atop a church."

"Yeah, but why?"

Another kick.

"Alright I'm standing."

- - - -

We stood before the bridge, Solaire joining us. She said it's fun to go on an adventure. And so, we just added her. Which made me euphoric. I can get lap pillows at bonfires.

"The drake is already there." I mentioned.

"I know. I'm not blind." Aristia quipped.

Okay she's being slightly ruder than usual. My brain is starting to make up some reasons and I will ignore them lest I sound like a narcissist. I should've been dense.

"That will be a problem. It could breathe fire at us." Solaire supplied.

"What shall we do?" Oscar turned towards Aristia.

Hmmm. She won't say anything. Welp, I'll just do shits I guess.

"I'll deal with it." I raised my rod and aimed at the drake perched on top of the shrine.

"I don't believe simple sorcery can deal with the dra-""Soul Lance"

A whoosh. A second delay. An explosion.

An influx of souls later, the drake is nowhere to be seen. The top of the shrine also lost quite a chunk. Fortunately, the roof is still intact.

"Huh?" Solaire dumbly stared at the damage.

Yes yes, be amazed by my amazing prowess!

"That is shocking." Solaire hummed in thought.

"I had the same reaction." Oscar nodded.

Anyways, without a drake, we can comfortably continue on. Aristia took care of the hollows with extreme brutality, which worries me. I did something wrong, and I do hope it's not what I'm thinking of.

After clearing the hollows, we entered the shrine. Aristia quickly went to the bonfire and sat down. Oscar went to the back and stared at the broken statue. Meanwhile, Solaire stood at the entrance, closed eyes and feeling the sun. If that makes sense.

Me? Figuring out how Homing Soulmass works. You know, the homing soul arrows kinda thing. The thought of Homing Soul Missiles makes me aroused. Spiritually.

Welp, experiment time.

- experiment time later-

"FUCK YES!" I exclaimed, pumping my fist in the air.

Around me, a row of Soul Missiles revolved. I had Aristia revive the hollows by resting in bonfire and the missiles automatically sought their target. It was an amazing sight, homing missiles.

Guided Intercontinental Missiles might be a thing soon.

For now, I can have five rings of Soul Missiles revolve around me. And each ring contains 5 missiles. I believe I can do more, but they might bump to each other and just explode in my face.

"Oh, I don't have any defense sorcery."

That's a flaw.

So how do I deal with that. Hardened skin? Lame.

Barriers.

I'm pretty much broken, so making a barrier is child's play. Grab soul power, spread it around me, harden it. Bam.

Soul Barrier.

A translucent blue bubble surrounded me. It follows my body automatically, thankfully. I don't want to deal with forgetting to move my barrier.

Now for tests.

"Oscar, hit me."

"Huh? For what reason?"

"I'm testing a new sorcery. Just try it. Put as much force as you like."

With my assurance, Oscar finally took out his sword. He seemed unsure at first, but then made up his mind and struck me with all he's got.

A clang, and his sword rebounded off my barrier. Not even a ripple.

"Holy shit it worked."

"That's... quite a convenient sorcery." Oscar commented, rubbing his numb hand.

So it works against physical attacks. It surely works with sorceries, but miracles? Hmmmm.

"Solaire, can you use a miracle?" I asked the lady.

"I possess one. Do you require me to demonstrate?"

"Yes please. Try to hit me with it."

Solaire frowned slightly, but eventually went with it. She grabbed a talisman from her pouch and held in in her hand. A breath, and the talisman was raised.

Sparks appeared, converging to form a spear made of electricity. Funny how a thunderbolt is called Sunlight Spear.

Anyways, the spear was formed. With a huff, it was thrown at me. It was fast, really fast. Almost matching the speed of my Soul Bolts, a spell tailored to be fast.

The spear reached my barrier, forming sparks. Taking a lightning bolt to the face is scary. But my barrier withstood the attack and repelled it. The spear of lightning dissipated, leaving only me and my barrier.

That was cool.

"Okay, so it works against miracles too. That's good." I dissipated the barrier.

Offense is broken, defense exists. I just need something for mobility. Then I'll be a full stack mage. Well, I don't really need mobility right now. So I guess I'll just go back to making nukes.

Homing Soulmass but with nukes. Hmmm, good idea. I shall add that to my bucket list, just below genocide. Alright, time for some experimentation.
