Tests

She flipped open the new file and took hold of her pen before looking at Vee.

"Name?" She asked.

"Alex" Vee responded.

She stared at Vee for a few seconds before opening her mouth.

"I meant your full name" she stated in annoyance.

"Oh, Alex…crimson" Vee replied with a bit of hesitation.

The woman looked at him for a few more seconds before shaking her head and writing it down on the file in front of her. She felt that Vee was refusing to state his real name but she didn't care as long as he gave her something to work with.

" Age?"

" 21"

" Element?"

"Lightning"

" Rank?"

" Nebula mage rank"

" Origin?"

".....

They continued the question/answer session for a few more minutes with the woman writing all the information she got from Vee on the file.

Five minutes passed before the woman finally stopped asking Vee questions, Vee had been left stunned by how different the process of registering as a hunter had become compared to back them. The woman had even asked if he had worked somehow before if he had any relatives here, and how he had gotten to his current rank.

Of course, Vee had been able to provide answers to every of her questions and did not leave any place for her to suspect him but he was still left speechless at how many questions were asked.

'Or is it just different in every continent?' he asked inwardly.

The woman had just closed the file when she suddenly remembered something, she quickly reopened it.

"Would you want to use your actual name to register or do you like to create an alias?" The woman asked.

Vee chose to create an alias, his alias would be crismon which would be his identity as far as the guild was concerned and he was a hunter.

The woman stood up from her chair and moved towards the door.

Vee just sat there, not knowing what to do.

" Come with me" the woman's voice sounded from behind Vee when she realized that he was not following her.

The both of them exited the office and headed for the elevator, they continued to the 40th floor.

Following behind the red-haired woman, Vee was brought to a hall on the 40th floor. The hall was more of a multi-sectioned space with a barrier separating each space and different equipment could be found here.

Seeing Vee staring at the different space in confusion, the red-haired woman cleared her throat before explaining.

"This is the testing ground where you will undergo some tests which will further help with your registration and will determine your grade, that space with the metal puppets is the strength test which will test the strength of your element. Over there you can see the puppet in the defense test section that will test the defense of your element, well your element isn't a defensive element but you will still have to take the test regardless.

Over there with the track is the speed test section which will test your reaction speed and your movement speed. Don't worry about the size, you will understand when you go in. And finally, that is a reality capsule. You'll find out what it does later. Anyway, you can pick the one to try first" the woman finished explaining and went to stand on the side with the file and a pen in hand, ready to write down the results of Vee's tests.

Vee stared at the various spaces with surprised eyes, all of these were new to him and he was quite anticipating to try them out.

'Will they be able to measure my actual strength as well?' Vee thought to himself as he walked towards the strength test section.

He felt his body suddenly go through a strange twist in space, in front of him were the five puppets that he had seen from outside but behind him had changed. He could no longer see outside or the red-haired woman and all around him were gray walls. His eyes changed colors faintly and he was finally able to see the red-haired woman who was now holding something that looked like a large communication device, he remembered one of the kids in the academy calling one of those an…Epad?

And she seemed to be taping something on the screen of the Epad.

Vee moved his sight from her as his eyes returned to their original color and he could no longer see outside.

' Hmm, a space-bending formation? Interesting' Vee thought to himself.

"Crismon, can you hear me?"

The voice of the woman suddenly sounded in the space, it was as if she was everywhere and Vee could not tell exactly where her voice was coming from; that's because he didn't bother looking for how she was able to talk in this space, he waved his hand to show that he could hear her.

"Good, I haven't done this in a while so I needed to make sure it still works. Alright, I have made adjustments to the defense level of the puppets so you should be able to handle them. All you need to do is to destroy all the puppets, there is no time limit and no restrictions. The only requirement is that you use your elements and no external assistance. You may begin"

The instant the voice of the woman fell, Vee saw the five metal puppets tremble slightly while making strange sounds. The two eyes on each of the puppets glowed green as they came to life, strange formations began to appear on their metal bodies and they began to move towards Vee.

Each of the puppets was as tall as a full-grown man and each of their metal arms was as thick as three people's arms joined together as they slowly moved toward Vee.

Vee did not move for a while as he studied the five puppets, his eyes shining with amazement.

'The formations on their bodies, if adjusted to the Transcended rank, should be able to withstand my attacks, right?' Vee thought to himself.

"Ah, I'll think about that later. Let me deal with them first" Vee said out loud as a smirk formed on his face.

He was about to toss out a Nebula-level lightning attack when he remembered that he was being watched.
