RAISING A PROTAGONIST

"Goodness, being the strongest is not as I expected at all. Everything and everyone are too weak and terrified. "My students are scared of me as well?" "Even powerful magic beasts die before I touch them!" "Hmm? Oh, he has the protagonist star but he is too hidden and might not shine. Hehehe, I'll groom this one and make him into the strongest too" Realizing that being the strongest comes with not only power and authority but extremely loneliness and unbearable boredom, vee fakes his death and travel to a far away land to live as a commoner. But just a few years after his retirement, his planet was invaded by a strong force that seek to conquer their home. But vee decides not to act this time and rather watch from the sideline while secretly helping someone else to become the main character in the darkest moment of their planet.

The village head got up after some time, he believed that old man Vee was most likely a very strong magic apprentice who was about to enter the Noble mage rank but he lied about it since the village head had only been an ordinary magic apprentice too. For fifteen years, he had respected the village head despite being stronger and might even be older as well, he had only revealed his true strength when the village was in real danger and had even died to keep them safe.

The village head could not measure that amount of respect that he held for the late old man at this point, he could only promise to look after the village just as the late old man had done.

.....

Back in the capital city of the southern continent, Royal Magic Academy.

Vee was unaware of the heavy atmosphere that his amazing acting skills had caused back in the village, all the villagers would most likely beat him to a pulp if they found out that everything was an act which he had planned out; he had played with their feelings after all.

He was currently following behind Alex, Gustavo, and the others as they headed for the cafeteria. A hoverbus did not come to pick them from class as it had done in the morning so they had to find their own way to their lodge later, it was still noon anyway so there was still a lot of time left before the 10p.m deadline.

The six of them headed for the cafeteria together under the soft ray of sunlight, Alex was grateful that the sun wasn't as scorching as it was yesterday when they had tried to tour the academy.

They met other students who had also closed from class along the way and their group attracted quite an amount of stares from the other students, this was mostly attributed to Gustavo, and Torie due to their looks while those who recognized Alex from the same awakening hall would point at him every now and then.

"Hey! It's you guys!"

A loud voice suddenly came from behind them as they got closer to the cafeteria which happened to be close to the class section.

The six of them turned around and saw that the owner of the voice was the kid who had the height of an adult and had awakened the fire element on the day of their awakening; he was in the same awakening hall with Alex, Vee, Helen, and Torie.

"Oh, it's muscle brain" Helen positioned her glasses and scoffed at the sight of the boy.

The boy's face turned ugly when he heard this and he glared at Helen, he was not alone as there were other two students walking behind him; apparently, the three of them were in the same class.

"Hey! How dare you call me a muscle brain? Believe it or not, I am smarter than you! Just because you wear glasses doesn't mean you are a nerd, humph!" The boy argued, he had been bragging about being friends with Alex in his class and had even gotten two followers, how could he still keep his face if Helen kept calling him a muscle brain!?

"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say…muscle brain" Helen was quite vicious with her words and did not become even a bit nice even though she could tell why this blockhead had two students following behind him.

"Are you looking for a fight?!" The boy was completely infuriated by Helen's lack of cooperation, he stood in front of her and stared down at her with eyes spitting fire.

"Can you guys stop? People are staring at you, and violence between students isn't allowed in the academy" Gustavo stepped in and separated the two.

"Hmph! You are lucky he saved you today, I'll show you who's the muscle brain in the ranking" the boy snorted and brushed past Helen as he moved over to Alex's side, his two followers closely behind him.

"Wow, so you can think?!" Helen exclaimed from behind but the boy did not turn to face her, causing her to click her tongue in dissatisfaction.

Meanwhile, the boy had already reached Alex and Vee.

"Yo, white heads, you look fine in your uniform" the boy said while patting Alex on the shoulder.

Alex only stared at him, not knowing what to say. In the end he could only return the compliment.

"You too," Alex casually said.

"Haha, I know, right! The uniform shows my manly charm, a lot of girls can't bear to look at me too much less they fall in love" the boy burst into laughter as he exaggerated Alex's words.

"Come, come, meet my foll…ahem, I meant to meet my friends. Jerod, and Herod, they are both twins with water and earth elements. Cool, right?" The boy introduced the two people behind him to Alex, Alex awkwardly introduced himself to them too as they exchanged handshakes.

He could not help but feel weird by how passionate the eyes of the two were when they stared at him.

"I said that you were a muscle head. Introducing people to him when he doesn't even know your name" Helen's sarcastic voice came from the side, it seemed like she was bent on tormenting the big guy.

"That's not true, of course Alex knows my name. Right, Alex?" The boy puffed his chest and asked Alex but what came next was silence, he looked down and saw Alex staring at him with an apologetic smile.

The boy immediately broke down and began to weep that Alex had hurt their friendship.

While they were busy introducing each other and forming bonds, Vee spotted something in the sky and the thing seemed to be heading towards them!

His eyes narrowed as he got a proper look at the object in the sky.

'A tamed flying beast? And there's a person riding it'

Vee said inwardly after figuring out what the thing in the sky was, it was still very far though so the others had not noticed it yet but it was approaching at a fast speed and would reach them in a few seconds.

At the same time, the introduction got to him.
