Underhang

As they came through the gate, Finn immediately felt less exposed compared to their time in the Precipice. Even though the Precipice had no visible creatures, it was still nerve-racking, as any random vulture could have been enough to knock him and Spearmaster off the bridge connecting Moon and Five Pebbles, and even if that situation that would not typically happen in the normal game due to vultures not spawning in the Precipice, Finn knew better than to compare his new life to the game.

"Stay sharp. There are a lot of ambushers in this area, and the orange lizards are much smarter than any I've ever met," SM warned as Finn followed behind. Just as if to prove the point, a dropwig fell from the ceiling, attempting to snack on Finn. With minimal effort, Finn raised their hands, creating a shield with many jagged, sharp spikes, which the dropwig soon found itself impaled on.

{Point made} Finn said simply, tossing the dropwig's lifeless body aside. Its corpse making an uncomfortable scraping sound against the hard stone beneath his feet.

"Weird, no exp?" Finn wondered to himself as he continued to follow behind Spearmaster. They entered a tunnel that led to a room filled with many pipes and poles. Spearmaster quickly used these structures to navigate upwards towards a vent that would typically be unreachable without the poles, enabling them to climb up to it.

Unfortunately for Finn, after crossing the room and entering the vent, he was faced with the one thing he was beginning to hate the most: platforming. Before him, there was not a solid straight path, but instead a chaotic mess of platforms and pipes that would allow for traversal, although it was much more dangerous.

As Finn was mentally cursing the developer for making their path the equivalent of a challenging game like "Getting Over It," he suddenly noticed a small blue and black creature enter his peripheral vision. This sight brought a smile to his face.

'A grappling worm! Nice!' Finn exclaimed happily as he quickly approached the creature and picked it up with one hand. He gave it a little squeeze, causing a web to shoot out of one end of its tube like body, which was soon retracted as he loosened his grip.

{Are you sure you want to use that?} Spearmaster asked, looking at Finn who had a peculiar smile while holding the worm.

{Of course! Just because you're not good at using them doesn't mean I can't!} Finn retorted. Spearmaster's face scrunched up as he remembered the time he had smashed into a wall when he tried to use a grappling worm, with Finn joking about it for the entire first journey to Moon.

Finn used the grappling worm, swinging across the large gaps, followed closely by Spearmaster, who proved to be a master at platforming. No matter how fast Finn swung, Spearmaster was right behind him, and in some cases, she was even ahead, moving at speeds that you'd only see when a rat is running for its life.

Unfortunately, their journey was occasionally broken up by attacks from packs of orange lizards, which were much larger than the ones in Rain, at least two to three times the size. The biggest group they encountered had 16 lizards, but strangely enough, Finn did not gain a single point of experience, no matter how many of them he slew.

Finn noticed that this phenomenon began only when he entered the exterior and continued even as they left the subregion Underhang. As he climbed up the wall, Finn grew increasingly desperate, slaughtering any and all creatures that appeared. He left little opportunity for Spearmaster to assist, as he crushed, bashed, and skewered any creatures that crossed their path.

'What the hell is going on!' finn screamed mentally as he was told by spearmaster they were half way up the wall which did not do much to soothe to panic in finns heart.
