Chapter 1 - Know it all

It was 12 am, the taxi stopped behind the building, the weather was very cold and all foggy. The street looked scary even the street lights were not working. Allysa was about to open the taxi door, when the driver said her something strange " Mam be aware of the snakes, you will find so many of them in this season. " Alyssa was bit taken aback about what the driver had said her she got off the taxi wondering why would he say something like that and also it was not summer or the rainy season it was winters, the month of January, it was too cold in Delhi for the reptiles to come out, when all the reptiles and amphibians hibernate. plus the locality she lived in did not have any cases of snakes from the past 2 years. She thought the driver must be just joking with her. But it was bit scary, it had never been too dark and it was a moonless night. She had often returned from her office late as she was a news reporter- A journalist, her job was hectic and very dangerous one. She was a very well known journalist and people often recognised her, because her way of working was different , she was very good at her job many people took her as their role model but many people hated her for her honesty and upright behaviour, currently she was working on a very big case that was not disclosed to anyone yet. It was carried out in secret, she had to go from one place to another because of this case and so was extremely tired. Right now what she was thinking about was taking a shower and having a can of beer and then just lie down on bed, her heels were already killing her. She had too walk fifteen min more as in front their building construction was going on so they had to enter through the back gate and it was a fifteen min walk from the taxi stand of the main road. As she was walking she saw a man with an umbrella, she felt bit strange because it was not raining at all and today's weather news also did not show any trace of rain it was just foggy. As they approached closer to each other, their eyes met, he had covered his face with a muffler so she could not see his face. As she was about to reach her building she got a message, it must be jay she thought because she had asked him to send backup files of a case that had killed various people in a fire and no one knows how the fire got caught. Tomorrow she had to interview the family of the victims. But it was not from Jay. As she clicked on the message the text read- YOU Look BEAUTIFUL IN THIS BROWN COAT. What the fuck she thought to herself who on earth was it. Was someone stalking her? She was wearing a brown coat but then she thought lot of people might have seen her on the news today with the same coat so someone might just be screwing around . And then there was another message - DON'T TRY TO RUN AWAY. THERE IS NO WAY TO ESCAPE. A chill ran down her spine she started walking faster but then suddenly someone grabbed her by her hair. The person was whistling, it was a man. He moved closer to her and grabbed her both the hands behind. She tried to push him away but he appeared to be very strong. Struggling to get out of his grip she asks him " Who are you ? What the hell do you want"

The man did not say anything and was just whistling.

She tried to ask for help screaming but it was of no use the people might be sleeping and the gate man had gone to check on the front gate. " Why aren't you answering me ? " saying this she looked behind, it was the same man with the umbrella his face still covered. He seemed very familiar to her.

" Do i know you ? " she asked.

but still no reply

She again tries to scream for help but this time the man grabbed her mouth. He stepped closer and whispered in her ear " Everyone is sleeping. You should not scream so loudly, its of no use no one can listen you or hear you. "

After two minutes of silence he finally spoke again " I guess it would rain today. Don't you think so too ."

Alyssa immediately knew who he was, it was like the floor swept under her feet. And before she could do or say anything further she felt a sting behind her neck, like someone bit her. Everything around her became dark black and it started raining heavily very heavily.
