Chapter 7: Free Money

The storage room is at the end of the property (Mansion) of Hao Jiazhi and has few more rooms in front

Also, the storage room had various objects that could block noise from traveling outside, thus no matter how much Liu Lim screamed… Nothing happened

Also, Hao Jiazhi had first thought to create a simple team with fighters but during his small training for swordsmanship, he learned that in this world there are people who excel in a different field and it's better to have more people who excel in their particular field rather than having one person excel in all field

Thus, he creates this name "5 Shadows" as there will be 5 heads or leaders who will excel in their particular field and also help each other to get the job done

This included Fighter's and Archer's, Assassination, Poison/medical, Blacksmith and Administrator/information collector team

Each team will help others to make sure that every objective they make or create, it is finished with a minimal amount of time and damage

Let's get back to the story now-

Mao Xue has chosen to take the position of Main Fighters as he has a good amount of fighting experience because he had some rough life, thus he is the 1st shadow

Fu Yu has decided to take the poison head position as he had worked in the medical field so he knows a little bit about poison and medicine stuff, thus he became the 3rd shadow

As for Meng Bai, his family works in the blacksmith field so he had taken the blacksmith position, becoming 4th shadow

And this is the reason why Hao Jiazhi said that these people are sent by gods as each person had one unique skill in them

Making his work easier than he could ask for

Now he only needs to find someone who has good administrator skill and also find a person who excels in the field of assassinations

"I am really enjoying this world" Hao Jiazhi said as he steps out of the storage room after explaining what they (his team) have to do in future

Hao Jiazhi is really happy right now, though he still misses his old days on earth as there he only had to use guns to get the job done, here he really needs some skill to pull things off

Still, the harder things get, the more Hao Jiazhi enjoys as the end result will surely taste good to him

Morning time-

Hao Jiazhi left the mansion with Han Yachun to take a stroll and left his 2 guards to stay inside the mansion

The reason for this is because, Hao Jiazhi wanted to create a scene where he will leave the place and from his behind, those 3 men will leave

And because those spies only keep eye on him, they won't think much about those 3 men or more particularly about the 4th person who is no longer in this world

After the stroll, Hao Jiazhi came back and as planned the guards came and told him that those 4 men have left the place after eating food

With a smile, Hao Jiazhi goes back to his room

Inside-

Hao Jiazhi sits on his seat, near the study table, and opens up a scroll/map

And looks at the place where he had marked in the very beginning of his plan, Jinyi

Jinyi is the biggest district (city/place, I will use the district rather than the city) in the whole province of Jinmen and this is the place where all food comes from

It's a BIG village area where almost 90% of the population only relies on farming and the other 10% have their own small business

What Hao Jiazhi plans is to send his men (those 3 men) with their team to bully those farmers and then take money in the name of protection fees

He had given them 6000 ban liang for gathering men and also equipment's to boost the morale of their men

As for the tax, he will be collecting, for farmers, it will be only 10 ban liang and for merchants, it will be 20 ban liang

The reason why he made the extortion money so small is that he doesn't want to make farmers scare to death and let them make any report to the local officers

It will be dangerous as he doesn't hold any power or connection so far, thus he only put small fear of those people and let them feel that they can get away by just paying a small amount

And human psychology will play the rest of the role

What is that?

Well, who wants to get into the mess of thugs and cops?

No one…

A common man just wants to live a happy life with no trouble, thus those people will surely think to solve the problem by just paying a small amount of money

No doubt, many will still hate it as they have very low income, eg. small farmers, but they won't do anything stupid as they fear the worst

Also, the amount of money may seem small as the tax will be collected only once in a month (not every day or week because he doesn't want to steer some problems in his first area where he will rule) because of the population

The farmer's population is more than 1000, and those merchants population is around 100 or so

Now, let's do the calculation, 100 x 20 = 2000

And, 1000 x 10 = 10,000

Total = 12,000 ban liang every month (its free money and don't forget, 100 ban liang is enough for a small family to survive as a basic necessity are cheap)

One thing Hao Jiazhi is really happy about is the military or law of this whole kingdom, as there are not many gangs of thugs around the place

Though there are bandits around the kingdom, but they rarely appear so…

He is free to do what he wants till he stays low-key and if he wants to make an appearance or show his organization, he has to make sure that he has enough power to hold the ground against all odds

"12,000 ban liang?....

Free money is always good" Hao Jiazhi said as he looks at the map and the future
