1 0-1 The world where it all started

[Congratulations, host! You have completed the second world, and have been rewarded 5 points!]

Yu Qingyu opened his eyes as he felt his senses connect to the new body.

He was standing in a medium-sized, futuristic bedroom, with metallic walls and no windows. It looked as if it was a room on a spaceship, or some sort of secret base. It was pretty empty, with just a bed, a desk, a chair, a closet, and two doors, one probably leading to the bathroom, and the other outside.

'5 points? So I have 10 now, right?' He asked the system.

[That is correct.]

'And how many did I need again?'

[To complete the transmigrations you need to earn 1000 points in total.]

Yu Qingyu momentarily froze in place. '1000… Does that mean I need to complete at least 200 missions?' he quickly calculated.

[No, that would be impossible. Future worlds will be worth more points. For example, completing this one perfectly will be rewarded with 10 points. The next one might be even more.]

Yu Qingyu sighed, relieved, and threw himself on the bed. He immediately regretted his decision. The bed was as hard as a stone.

It hasn't been long since he started transmigrating to different worlds to complete missions. It seemed it was only yesterday when he was still your average 26-year-old, living a perfectly normal, average life. He was just on his way home from work, crossing the street on the green light, when suddenly, he was hit by a truck. And everything went black.

As his consciousness was floating in the abyss, a system, calling itself 520, appeared before him. It offered him a deal - transmigrate into different worlds, complete missions, and once you collect enough points, time will be reversed and you can live again!

Yu Qingyu has never been the one to seek thrills. He was happy with his normal, unremarkable life. Well, except for his lack of luck when it came to finding love, but he was still young enough, so not all hope was lost. He read many stories about transmigration, and although they were interesting, he never wished for it to happen to him.

But, what choice did he have? He didn't want to die! So naturally, he agreed.

And so far, he completed two worlds without any issues.

'Alright then, 520, fill me in on the new one.' Yu Qinqyu got up from bed, massaging his back.

[Of course. Your current identity is Chen Rumin, a 19-year-old trusted subordinate of Liu Wei. Liu Wei is a powerful villain of this world, his goal is to destroy Chuxi city. Your mission is to make contact with the city council, and help them capture Liu Wei.]

'A powerful villain? Like some superpowers or something?' He continued questioning 520 while scouting the room. He was currently going through the closet, filled with rather plain black clothes made from unfamiliar materials.

[That is correct. This world is a post-apocalyptic futuristic setting, where all the living organisms mutated due to a virus. Liu Wei has been affected harshly in his childhood, almost dying in the process, and as a result, his powers are above everyone else.]

A deep frown appeared on Yu Qingyu's face. He didn't like the setting at all. The previous two worlds were similar to his own, so why was he suddenly thrown into such an unfamiliar one? And the mission was only worth 10 points? Seemed a bit unfair to him.

But he knew there was no point arguing.

'So where am I now? Liu Wei's secret base or something?'

[Correct. It is a secret underground base, where Liu Wei and Chen Rumin live. No one else knows the location.]

Something felt odd about this. 'Didn't you say he's a powerful villain? How come he only has one subordinate?'

[He has plenty of subordinates. But only Chen Rumin is trusted enough to enter his secret hideout.]

Yu Qingyu paused. He did not like this mission at all.

So his goal was to stop the villain who wanted to destroy the city, and possibly kill everyone there. That much was understandable. But the fact that he had to do it as the only person said villain trusted made him slightly sick. He didn't like such betrayal.

Yu Qingyu shook his head energetically, trying to get rid of such thoughts from his head. He took a deep breath, straightened up, and closed the closet.

There was no point in overthinking. He was not Chen Rumin. He was not even from this world. It was his mission, he had to complete it in order to live.

Moreover, Liu Wei was the villain. He undoubtedly deserved to be betrayed and captured. That was the right thing to do. It must have been.

'Alright. Is there any time limit?'

[You need to lead to Liu Wei's capture before he destroys Chuxi. He is planning his attack in a month. You need to either finish the mission in this time frame, or make him postpone the attack.]

'A month it is then.' Yu Qingyu had no intention of staying in this world any longer than needed.

Having finished searching the room, he went to check the bathroom.

It was small, with just a sink, a toilet, a shower, and a cupboard squeezed in. There was a small mirror on the wall, allowing him to see his new face.

It was quite cute, with big, brown eyes and messy black hair. His skin was a bit tanned, suggesting he didn't spend his whole time cupped up in the underground hideout. His body was slim and lean, but it didn't lack some muscle definition. He wasn't particularly tall, but still taller than his original body. Overall, it was a nice body to be in.

'Too bad I won't be staying in it for too long…' Yu Qinqyu thought to himself with a hint of regret, admiring his features in the mirror.

He sighed, washed his face, and headed over to the other door, leading out of the bedroom.

'By the way,' he addressed 520 again, 'you said that people mutated, right? Does Chen Rumin have any superpowers, then?'

520 immediately responded.

[Boosted intelligence. He is responsible for all the technology, including the base's security system. You can use his ability as well, although probably not as efficiently as he did. I can also transfer his technological knowledge to you, as it is included in the essential skill package.]

A small smile appeared on Yu Qingyu's face for the first time in this world. 'Not bad.'

That was quite a useful ability to have.

Steeling himself, he reached to the panel on the door and pressed it.

It was time to go meet the villain.
