1 Love or Life? (1)

The universe is assumed to be at least 10 billion light-years in diameter and contains an enormous range of galaxies. There are numerous theories surrounding its advents like the big bang and different cosmological theories.

Some other theory referred to as 'String theory Multiverse,' is a hypothetical group of multiple universes. The universe is stated to be spatially limitless, and maybe the universe we believed as massive could also be just one of a countless variety of universes.

Beneath the said idea is the parallel worlds. The notion of parallel worlds is the universe is bottomless and there's this high chance that there may be every other 'you' living in those worlds.

Even though those parallel worlds are light years apart, occasionally they could slam on each other and this can affect the other worlds on the minimum. Worst is that they could change the drift of the void, or they can collapse. Once a parallel world becomes destroyed, this will retain like a domino effect, wreaking havoc constantly; albeit the odd for this to occur is close to zero, however that does not suggest that it'll never manifest.

System 008: "Alas, the domino effect happened. And it only affected your existence."

"On the first place, why did they slam on each other?"

System 008: "Because your existence created an imbalance to their world causing the parallel worlds to auto-fill a bug. And your existence to different worlds is slowly being eradicated by means of the implanted bug to sustain the stability. If the bug keeps eradicating you, your complete existence may be forgotten and your memory to other people will vanish. Not only to your world but additionally in the complete multiverse."

Xi Sheng hummed and asked: "However I'm already dead, are not I?"

System 008 nodded as a sign of settlement and said: "Yes, you're already dead. And you created numerous messes on other worlds as well. Fortunately, 'He' gave us one extra chance and turn the time back earlier than your death."

"He? Who?"

A mechanical voice replied to her.

[Host No. 4 has no authority to inquire the answer.]

After receiving the cold response, she didn't ask any further, instead ask other questions that were also rejected by the heartless voice.

"Why do you need my assistance if my existence can only affect the alternative worlds in subtle ways?"

[Host No. 4 has no authority to inquire the answer.]

"Is this the afterlife?"

[Host No. 4 has no authority to inquire the answer.]

"Am I the only one stuck up on this mess? Or there are different human beings?"

[Host No. 4 has no authority to inquire the answer.]

"Who is your boss?"

[Host No. 4 has no authority to inquire the answer.]

"How're your profits?"

[Host No. 4 has no authority to inquire the answer.]

"What is the name of your business enterprise? In which is it placed? How do they rent their employees?...."

System 008 stood in the nook and watches how Xi Sheng's questions being turned down by the mechanical voice. After watching enough, he warned her that she could only ask one essential question, and after that, he will discuss the mechanics of the framework.

Xi Sheng became stern and stoic. The mechanical voice and 008 thought that she's going to ask a significant one....but expectation is different from reality.

She looked brazenly straight into 008's eyes.

"... How's the state of it? Can it still carry your family lineage? [1]"

The mechanical voice was baffled. What 'it' is she speaking about? Did he miss something?

At first, 008 became also confused. He contemplated for some time and unexpectedly understood her meaning. His eyes carried a mixture of chagrin and barely contained anger.

008 closed his eyes and stated nonchalantly:"....please ask an important one." I believe the state of my lower half is none of your business.

Xi Sheng widened her eyes, as though 008's reply greatly stunned her: "You deem your future children, your bloodline's carrier as irrelevant?! How heartless!"

[How heartless indeed.] The mechanical voice has also entered the fun.

System 008 stated no more:"..." I believe that neither both of you is the one that will carry my ancestry. So, shut up and thank you very much.

....

Xi Sheng ceased her teasing, a mild smile surfaced in her lips: "What is our objective?"

System 008: "Each world has its own kismet. It cannot be bent nor destroyed. In order for the set of words to flow harmoniously, the administrators decided to place a leash on them. Every world has its very own predetermined fates that differ from each other to ensure that they'll circulate differently and evade each other. However, because of some 'unexpected development' they collided on each other, for that reason the destiny of every world was ruined."

008's eyes wandered on the body of the 'unexpected development.' Xi Sheng took a stance of a dedicated scholar ignoring the suspicious eyes given by the system.

"Our objective is to make certain that each world will end at their predetermined outcome. So that, nothing like an 'unexpected death' as a result of a flying bullet will occur and the world will function smoothly once more."

Xi Sheng's eyes flickered with disdain: "System, you should not make fun of a dead person. It is rude, you know."

008 shot her a surprise and unrelenting stare, his high-pitched voice full of sarcasm: "What? Don't tell me you are that silly person whose sudden death caused by a flying bullet?!"

Xi Sheng's eyes twitched: "System... Your true colours are showing. [2]"

008 switched back to his formal expression: "Look at my skin."

Xi Sheng, this idiot, really did look at system 008's skin.

System 008: "My skin colour is virtually white. You recognize what white means?"

008 paused and with astute gaze, he continued no matter how audacious his next words were: "It means purity."

Xi Sheng cast a sceptical glance on 008, her words stuck on her throat:"..."

Even the owner of the cold and heartless mechanical voice can't help but to shut his mouth and own the misgivings in his heart:[...]

008, you're quite shameless.

[1] "Can it still carry your family lineage?"-this phrase is referring to the previous chapter where Xi Sheng unconsciously kicked his *ahem*. So she was asking if it's okay and still usable...

[2] "Your true colours are showing" - the kind of person someone really is rather than what the person seems to be.
