1 Invited Player

Year 2***, news about people going missing is not a surprise to anyone anymore. At first, those people who suddenly disappeared once would just bulge out of nowhere after a certain period of time passed. Usually, they'll be just gone for a day or two.

These kind of news spread all over the world. One may say that this could indeed just happen to anyone, with no discrimination at all of their race, gender, or age. But these past recent years, people who suddenly went missing never come back anymore.

The government and some unknown organization did their best to hide this kind of information to everyone. Even if someone tried to report it to the officials, they'll be only given a respond on somewhere along these lines : "We'll do our best to investigate this. Please be rest assured. If they are not been found, we will give you a certain amount of money."

The people who report a case got confuse whenever they heard that kind of response. They started to doubt the officials if they were really doing their job in searching or they might have another ulterior motive out of it.

But before they could even tried to criticize them, they were already been putted into a deep sleep. Their memories got erased. They'll be only get shock at the sight of a large amount of money sitting in front of their house.

A woman with a code name : Stalane , and in-game name : Syton are one of those people who went missing in the middle of the night.

Inside the headquarters of a group of agents, a man who is wearing a black sports coat partnered with a trouser sat beside a woman. The woman is well-known with her skills with her martial arts and marksmanship.

"I heard that it took you 10 days to kill the guy that was assigned to you? What's have gotten into you? Does your skills suddenly get deteriorated?" The man asked as if he's mocking her.

The woman glanced at him before she continued eating her ramen. "You should've took the task instead if you think you could do it better than me" She commented as she finishes her food.

She cleaned her lips with a tissue before she stood up. "The guy is a skilled assassin, by the way. His skills are mirrored with yours and mine. Actually, it might have been much better than ours. It's a good thing that he fell into my trap and decided to kill himself instead"

The man was shocked as how she described her target. He knew that her evaluation was always accurate.

He awkwardly laughed it off, "Well, you did great. I'm gonna go with my team now. See you later, Stalane"

The woman named Stalane ignored him as she directly went to the training ground. She took her gun and shot the target.

After she shot it, the target suddenly lit brightly and a weird array formed on it. Stalane shut her eyes off as she was being engulfed by it.

When Stalane opened her eyes again, she was now in a space where a lot of codes and unknown characters are floating and surrounding the area.

"Welcome to Invitation Questline Area!" A robot-like and a tinge of woman's voice was heard by Stalane through her head.

She furrowed her brows as she was confused on why she was hearing a voice inside of her head. She looked around the area. She saw a woman who is sitting in a chair with a desk in front of her and what is more strange is she is floating!

"You are invited to play Questline. A game created by Unknown. Questline is a rare game played only by players who who were chosen by the Creator. Will you accept the offer?" The woman asked as a hologram screen floats with an option "Yes / No" in front of her.

She was amazed by the things she was seeing and she got confused whether she was dreaming or not. Virtual games are already popular in their world but being suddenly transported without even a notice really surprised her.

"You only have 72 hours to think. The offer will be gone after 72 hours" The woman continued.

She then remembered about the missing people case. Could it be related to this game? It did say that only a certain people could play this game. Besides, she have never heard about the game Questline before.

"I'll think about it, then. How am I gonna go back here to give my answer?" Stalane asked calmly. She was too quick to understand her situation and evaluate what her questions should be.

"Just say 'Invitation Questline Area Travel' and you'll be immediately transported back here" Stalane right wrist suddenly glints after the woman answered her question. She looked at her wrist as she saw a bracelet with a "Invited Player" written on it.

"You're about to transfer back to your world. Please, don't tell to anyone about this invitation or else you will face a big consequence." The woman reminded her. After that, another weird array was formed under her feet. It emits another bright light as it engulfed her once again.

2 seconds passed and she found herself back to the training ground.

She slapped her face with her both hands to check if she was dreaming. She confirmed that it was not a dream because the pain on her cheeks was definitely real. She immediately left the training ground and went to her room. She took a paper and pen. She left a note on it, saying "I'll be doing a secret mission. Please pardon me for my sudden leave. Don't look for me, I'll be gone for a while. I'll be bringing a good news when I return"

She does not know where she should left the letter, thus she look for the man who sat beside her earlier. That guy was not her friend but he is the only person she could ask a favor with.

Luckily, she bumps at him right after she left the room. "Hyero, good timing--"

"I was looking for you. You were not in the training ground. The boss is asking for your presence. It seems like he's about to give the next assignment for you" The man named Hyero cuts what Stalane was about to say.

Stalane opened her mouth as if she was about to say something. Hyero noticed that she seems to be hesitating. "Whats up? Have you already decided to go against the organization and betray the boss's order?"

She sighed at his remark. He is thinking too much. There is no way she could ever betray the organization. "No. I'll be leaving this letter to you. It's up to you if you want to cover up for me or want to ruin my image to our boss. Anyway, I'm going"

Stalane left Hyero dumbfounded before she returns to her room. She immediately say "Questline Invitation Area Travel"

When Hyero opened her room to talk to her, she was already gone!
