Quest Maker of Soul Land

Willingly dying at the hands of his only teacher to repay all his debt, Jason simultaneously plans his reincarnation and finds himself in the body of an 'evil' cultivator named Ja Sun wanted by one of the three strongest power of the Douluo Continent— Spirit Hall. But hope isn't lost. His trait from his previous life never left his side and now he will make missions in the Douluo Continent and live another life, this time, a life not owed to anybody. *** Note: I do not own the cover art. Timeline: The events of this fanfics take place eleven years before the start of the main novel. Of course, I do not own the Douluo Dalu universe. Since I am writing about the timeline never covered in the major timeline to completion, many things may be a part of the fanfiction but not mentioned in canon. *** Ps: After seeing a few complaints, I realized to add two warnings. The mc is definitely a trained fighter and not innocent since he can kill but he doesn't go around killing that much even when others love to do it. I know, it's strange since it's a cn novel but honestly we have enough men who love to cut roots. And, the character of the individuals from main novel will be slightly AU. For instance, Xiao Wu would only hug and keep chirping Ge, Ge. (Spoilers) The fem mc and others, well, I tried to put more personality, make their tongues sharper but it turned out AU. I accept that and realized that it needed to be mentioned, too. Hope you all enjoy the fanfic. *** Read 60 advance chapters and support the novel @ Patre on.com/Fanharem

"It really scared me..." Liu Erlong had an uncharacteristically pale expression. She shivered somewhat, her shoulders slouched in while her lips pursed together. Her large black eyes were a bit watery, as if she would tear up at a moment's notice.

Ah Yin sat next to her. She felt a little uncomfortable, too. Smudged blood was still visible on her wrist and she seemed utterly disheartened. "It's a disaster... I don't know how she will ever recover," whispered Ah Yin. For this rare moment, Ah Yin and Liu Erlong looked perfectly in sync and quite nervous, Bibi Dong, too, couldn't help but lose her cool, "Can you not frighten the rest of us! If not anything then pray for her safety! Ka-ul, why don't you say—" Bibi Dong turned to Ka-ul only to watch him holding the bridge of his nose between his hands.

His eyes were entirely dead while as he contemplated his life choices.

"I'll speak..." Ja Sun whispered, "You two... I really am sorry if I put you through such... horror."

His tone was ominous as Bibi Dong shook while Ah Yin lowered her head further.

"Please don't scare us more," Tang Yuehua finally sighed.

*Sniff*

*Sniff*

"What a horrible scent of pain," Jun'er already had tears as she hugged a bleak Oscar who didn't look well either.

All of them sat in a narrow hallway. Loud shrieks resounded through one particular door at the moment with horrifying threats and curses being blurted out loud.

"Xan! I'll cut off your penis if you ever— Aaaaaghhhhhhhh!"

"I'm pushing, goddammit! Why don't I impregnate all of you and then keep on chanting push! push! Sons of bitches—"

"It's just the birth of a child. It's a miraculous experience," Qian Daoliu stated calmly as he sat beside Bibi Dong while he was going through the report on the Giant's Forest.

"Miracle?... MIRACLE?!" Liu Erlong gaped at the grandmaster who seemed at ease despite the screams and the utterly horrified team listening to it while previously hoping for things to take a more happy and wholesome turn quickly. Although Ja Sun knew about this, for the most part, this was his first experience, too.

He, who had hoped to have four children each from Ah Yin and possibly Bibi Dong for his future band... felt his hopes crushed as a pit formed in his stomach.

"Yes, a miracle. Many spirit masters try to form life. To tune soul, martial spirit, mental consciousness, and so many other aspects perfectly artificially yet all have met with failure. Compared to that, a night spent in pleasure resulting in life is indeed miraculous," Qian Daoliu explained calmly.

Even Bibi Dong felt a little irritated by Qian Daoliu.

"Master... nobody really asked you to be here," Ja Sun glanced at the man.

"And yet, here I am," Qian Daoliu smiled.

'The sheer... shamelessness,' Tang Yuehua was speechless. She was starting to see a pattern between Ja Sun and his master yet, as Ja Sun's student, even if informal, Yuehua felt she did not even have 10% of their shameless personalities.

"Oh, yeah, the two clans still haven't sent anyone for trade?" Qian Daoliu looked at Yuehua. She joined the group with the condition that if the spirit bone is eventually traded, then her family needed to have a preference on the Nine-headed Giant's Torso Bone. So, of course, she would take the lead, too. There was a conflict of interest but Yuehua knew that taking benefit from her family would need to be balanced with taking something from them, too.

"No... they still haven't. Even I'm not too sure of the situation since I'm usually with Erlong at the southern entrance to keep guard," Yuehua explained.

"Anyway... how long has it been?" Ah Yin inquired.

"9 hours and 27 minutes," Qian Daoliu replied.

"That long..." Jun'er had a fearful expression. She had been trying to get pregnant and Hu Lana's delivery slapped her in the face with reality.

"It only sounds horrible," Qian Daoliu began.

"Ohhhhh Gooooddddddd!"

Hu Lana's scream cut in.

"Well... it hurts a bit, too," the old master's lips twitched.

'A bit?' Everyone gazed at the man dubiously.

Although everyone also wanted to inquire about Qian Xunji since he had yet to reappear, this was neither the time nor the place to ask such questions. Instead, Qian Daoliu steered the conversation towards the details of this particular miracle. The dilation, the crowning—

"Erlong fainted!" Ah Yin interjected and Qian Daoliu pursed his lips.

Ja Sun suddenly gasped, "You didn't reprimand Ah Yin for interrupting... you... you've been unfair to me! And to think I had the perfect gift for you given the circumstances..."

He glanced at Erlong who had lost the color of her face listening to Daoliu's discussion of biology as if she had been defeated in the bloodiest battle.

"She had a good reason to interject. And she's more obedient than you. Of course, she has special rights," Daoliu narrowed his eyes with a strange gleam, "And... what gift?"

Ja Sun nodded and stood up. Walking towards Qian Daoliu, he gave a formal bow, "I wanted Xie Xan to be here... but he was present when I completed this invention so it doesn't matter much... while Hu Lana would simply not appreciate it..."

He sighed and took out an ornate case. It was square-shaped and had attractive carving on its black surface that gave this present a classy charm. Ja Sun had indeed put in quite a great deal of thought. A part of him wanted to thank Qian Daoliu for all his assistance. Even though Qian Daoliu wasn't holding his hand and teaching him like a small kid, the man had provided Ja Sun with quite a bit already. Just the last reward for winning the competition revealed a great secret that Redstar touched upon but knowingly kept a great deal about.

"What is this?" Qian Daoliu stretched his hand as the small case flew and landed on his palm.

Opening the lid of the case revealed a set of packets with a very familiar ring-like indentation as others who stretched their necks to gaze at the present didn't know what to feel. A part of them felt that this was obvious. Another part of them also felt that it was simply wrong to expect any kind of normalcy from Ja Sun in the first place.

"What is this?" Qian Daoliu still gave his disciple the benefit of doubt.

"Magical condoms instilled with arrays that can..."

Ja Sun began explaining with a great deal of eagerness. Once finished, he gazed at Qian Daoliu with an expectant expression, waiting for the reaction.

"Hmm..." Qian Daoliu closed the case and smiled, "My first gift from a disciple. I will treasure it."

"Huh?"

Ah Yin was the first to fall into a daze and then others.

Ja Sun blinked. This was purely made out of comedic purpose yet Qian Daoliu accepted this gift with rather great sincerity.

"Oh... alright," Ja Sun mumbled, a bit disheartened instead. He didn't know what to feel for this short period of time. Hu Lana was screaming bloody mary. Liu Erlong had fainted, and the others were also feeling a bit nervous yet Qian Daoliu's actions easily made him feel the most dejected of them all.

'Was it too much to ask for a good reaction?' He sighed internally, feeling defeated— not in a fight, but in a conversation— much worse of a situation, he now realized.

'Is this how Taiyin felt?'

---

A few hours later, everyone could be seen inside the room. It had been cleaned quite heavily and the air was purified under Jun'er's special request.

On the bed lay Hu Lana, looking peacefully at the crib while Xie Xan adjusted the blanket on her body. On the crib next to her with an infant taking his own rest. Seeing others enter, Xie Xan glanced at them. He still looked a little pale but the hint of happiness in his eyes was undeniable.

"Hey," Xie Xan whispered, "Everyone, meet Xie Yue."

Hu Lana didn't even look at them. Instead, her gaze never left the child in the crib as if she, the enchantress of the group, was entirely enchanted herself.

"Xie Yue," Jun'er was the first to walk up with a hint of excitement. Her nose twitched, but she easily suppressed the internal struggle of the cheap air cleaning and smiled as she gazed at the child with rather substantial hair on his head.

"Here, this should help you," Ah Yin, meanwhile, helped Hu Lana up while a warm stream of energy coursed in her body, lifting her exhaustion and pain and treating her body in a more nurturing manner befitting pure life spirit energy that coursed in her body.

"Thanks..." Hu Lana smiled, "And everyone... thank you for coming. You, too, Grandmaster."

Qian Daoliu shook his head, "I was scheduled to arrive here. Taking the role of Acting Supreme Pontiff is rather annoying."

"He doesn't bite, Erlong," Ja Sun rolled his eyes as Liu Erlong continued to stay just a bit behind him with her fingers latched on his sleeves.

"Yeah, right. He just tears out of a body," Erlong hissed, a bit distressed.

"Come on," Hu Lana was the one to cheer Erlong up with a smile, "You're not going to say that Little Yue wouldn't get to play with his very energetic Aunt Erlong, right?"

"Aunt... Erlong?" Liu Erlong mumbled. Pondering many things at once.

"He's very beautiful, Sister Lana," Yuehua, too, walked closer to the crib and leaned forward. Her eyes were bright.

"Right, to congratulate you both, we decided to gift you something," Bibi Dong attracted the attention of the couple as she flipped her palm, revealing a set of documents, "A three-month vacation for the two of you."

"Finally!"

Xie Xan and Hu Lana pumped their fists before smiling at each other.

"Ehm, I would suggest that you take this period of vacation to have more time for yourself and let your husband take more care of your child, Xie Yue. While the period of cultivation is suppressed during pregnancy, the mother is often rejuvenated naturally for a period. Ordinary women don't have this luxury but you do. Make the best use of it," Qian Daoliu stated with a smile, "As for me, I shall be leaving. Congratulations, both of you."

It was clear that he only stayed this long for the successful delivery. Now that he had met the couple, Qian Daoliu had nothing else to do and took his leave yet his words made Hu Lana pout.

"Cultivate... again? I thought I could finally kick back and enjoy..."

"Enjoy what? Not like you'll feel anything after having that come out of you," Ja Sun scoffed and Hu Lana glared at him.

"Let him be, Lana. We're parents now," Xie Xan smiled mockingly, "Why bother with kids playing make-believe relationships? We have it all now."

"That's right!" She smiled, high-fiving her husband.

"Hey, we can have kids, too," Ja Sun narrowed his eyes.

"With who?" Ah Yin snorted.

"Don't look at me," Bibi Dong stepped away.

"Anyway, I hope that you can come back quickly... all your work is dumped on me," Oscar grumbled before taking a seat as he bit on his recovery tofu to recover his stamina.

The team didn't stay with the couple for long. It was clear that the duo would need a period of adjustment not only for Lana's bodily changes but also to their routines now that they had a child to take care of. But Liu Erlong was excited for another reason.

Once this period of adjustment ends, they would be able to hunt for their spirit rings again. Although she could go out alone, it was others in the group who made her stay since she could get the most benefits with others' help and it wouldn't cost her anything aside from time. Not to mention the fact that most of her cultivated energy would only be stored up and act as a medium of a continuous breakthrough once she gets her spirit ring.

The group had a lot to deal with after this.

The envoys of the Clear Sky Clan and the White Tiger Clan came in the form of Tang Hao and Dai Mu to 'congratulate' the couple but also begin the negotiations for the trade of the spirit bone won in the competition.

The two clans wanted to know if something had changed or if there was any new information on Qian Xunji but this task wasn't accomplished.

The Giant's Forest had turned into the greatest stronghold aside from the main clan ground of the Clear Sky Sect with Ja Sun and Ah Yin keeping tight reigns on the beasts of the forest while Bibi Dong efficiently earned wealth for the team and enhanced her support in the Spirit City.

This was plain accumulation and would need quite a bit of time before it makes Bibi Dong's footing without Qian Xunji firm in the Spirit City. But not many held doubt that this was going to be achieved soon and despite the secret opposition, many were dismayed and envious of the true support Bibi Dong had in the form of her team.

Even potential successors like Yu Xiaogang were left hopeless at this point. Especially him, who had to deal with the fact that his father disappeared mysteriously and Yu Shandian could barely lead the Blue Dragon Clan as the young lord.

The talks of the alliance between the Heaven Dou Empire and the Blue Dragon Clan had also fallen short since the clan no longer had the true might of a Titled Douluo even if they had enough personnel to not let their sources of income get affected.

Without a doubt, a spirit bone can only be traded by another spirit bone. But seeing Yuehua on the other side, Tang Hao couldn't help but smile instead.

By sending Tang Hao, it meant that Clear Sky Clan wanted things to be simple. They did not want to aggravate Spirit City by using cheap ploys, and Bibi Dong also appreciated simpler things even if her life was remotely close to that.

Although the two clans had quite a number of spirit bones themselves, it didn't mean that these bones weren't being used by their members. Ordinarily, factions use Spirit Bones to increase the ability of their geniuses and not many are like Bibi Dong's team, being picky in using the spirit bones, so often, spirit bones are used as quickly as possible.

The delay until now was to find an appropriate spirit bone by venturing into the Star Dou Great Forest and the Sunset Forest regularly alongside other famed and untamed regions in the Star Luo Empire.

After a few rounds of negotiations, the trade was finally settled for a 60000-year-old Hulking Bear's Torso Bone and a 50000-year-old Night Owl Skull Bone.

These two bones were in safeguard with Bibi Dong since they weren't directly useful to the group.

But, Tang Hao and Dai Mu had another reason for coming to the stronghold.

---

"There you are," Ja Sun smiled as he opened the door to the office. The first thing he saw was Liu Erlong lying on the couch without a care with her top slightly lifted up and even seeing Ja Sun enter the office, she seemed wholly unbothered to adjust her clothes and continued to read through a fighting technique which she exchanged with the Spirit Hall for her contributions.

Behind the desk sat Tang Yuehua who was signing a few documents with her mark.

"Brother Ka-ul?" She looked up, a little puzzled.

"What are you doing here?" Liu Erlong mumbled without looking at him.

"Just here to hang out. Ah Yin didn't want me disturbing her cultivation... says she's close to meeting the bottleneck..."

The reality was that Ah Yin had taken a week-long leave to get close to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and reach rank 70. Almost everyone was already meeting their bottlenecks in this final period of peace. Yuehua was no exception either. She was a rank 30 Spirit Grandmaster.

Hu Lana had finally absorbed the other spirit bone she had gained and taken this period of freedom to get her cultivation straightened out, reaching rank 58.

Even Ja Sun couldn't resist the temptation of the 70000-year-old Clone Devil's Right Leg Bone anymore. With the absorption of this spirit bone, Ja Sun now had four spirit bones filled and had become a rank 69 Spirit Emperor.

"She's already becoming rank 70..." Erlong mumbled with a hint of dismay.

"Don't worry. Xie Xan and Hu Lana will be returning in a week or so. We will finally get to go out," Ja Sun heaved a sigh of relief.

"I just came out of the forest and heard about Tang Hao's engagement to Dai Mu," Ja Sun's words caused Yuehua to flinch.

"Oh, yeah, they did say that," Liu Erlong interjected with a yawn as Ja Sun sat down next to her while propping his legs on the glass table in front of him.

"Shut up, I'm talking with Yuehua."

"Why should I shut up? The Southern Entrance belongs to Yuehua and me. You shut up," She scoffed.

Both of them glanced at each other before snorting.

"Cover up your flappy stomach already. It's gross to look at," Ja Sun added.

"Not as gross as your face. Why are you even looking at my stomach in the first place, pervert? Should I tell Sister Dong?" Liu Erlong frowned and Ja Sun narrowed his eyes. Not willing to let the argument go out of control, Yuehua coughed, "Yes, Brother Hao will be marrying Sister Mu once she has enough strength. It is the tradition of the two clans. But their engagement is already set in stone."

"Wouldn't you need some time off? To return to your home and spend time with your family?" Ja Sun questioned.

He didn't particularly worry for Yuehua since she was mature enough and had seen this coming ever since her father tried to push her marriage with Ja Sun but seeing the person one admired and secretly loved being engaged to someone else would surely be a tough cookie to swallow.

Yuehua pursed her lips before shaking her head silently.

"I see... well, I have another purpose for coming here. The first is to congratulate you for reaching your bottleneck and the second is to take you into the forest and see if Clear Phoenix can find a spirit beast to your needs. The quicker you grow, the better. After all, in later stages, rise in spirit rank becomes a very harsh goal and you need all the advantages you can get to catch up with us."

Hearing the purpose of his arrival, Yuehua straightened her back and nodded.

"Thank you for everything, Brother Ka-ul."

"He doesn't really deserve that much respect..." Erlong mumbled.

*Slap*

Ja Sun suddenly slapped Erlong's stomach with a large fleshy sound escaping. Liu Erlong bit her lips but before she could kick, Ja Sun had already retreated outside of the room with only his voice remaining.

"Better luck next time. I slap as quickly as I steal kills!"

Liu Erlong gritted her jaws in frustration.

"You know that I had it in the bag!" She shouted and snorted before turning to her sides while grumbling under her breath.

Speechless, Yuehua completed a few matters before preparing for the trip.
