11 Trapped in a virtual world....

The two left the large gathering, Tenkin had other things in mind and wasn’t planning on wasting any more time in the place.

As the two stepped out of the large fort of the red skull faction, they were once again welcomed by the naturally beautiful scenery of Modern city.

“What’s your plan now?” Allison decided to break the awkward silence, as she soon started feeling left out by her somewhat strange partner.

“Well, nothing much really but we need to go kill some beast and gather enough resources to establish our own fort too” Tenkin replied, his eyes darting all around him for any unwanted followers.

“What are you doing?” Allison asked curiously, finding his reaction a bit strange.

“Sorry, it’s kind of a bad habit, you never know when someone can just decide to come up from no where” He replied with a wryly smile.

The two were still tied in the awkward scene when suddenly a loud recognizable voice resounded through the background.

[The NPC’s (non-player characters) have been activated and have been given their various functions. Official role has been unlocked]

All the players in the game could see the notification clearly being displayed in the bright blue sky. Many had terrified looks on their faces, having no idea what was going on. Wishing they had never purchased the VR set in the first place.

Tenkin looked at the notification again, trying to make meaning out of it but nothing was coming to mind.

He was sure that if something like this had appeared during the test program that he would have an idea what information the world system was trying to pass on, but as things were at the moment this was just another fact to show how much difference there was between the test program and the game they were currently playing.

Looking around he suddenly noticed that non of the NPC’s were moving. “Grenia, did you notice that?” He asked to be certain, before it’d look like he was daydreaming.

Allison surely hated the formality, but she couldn’t force the latter to call her by her real name, “Of course I did,” She replied

Thinking about it for a while he decided to shove it in the back of his mind. “Maybe they are trying to fix the situation on the outside, twenty two hours should have been enough for them to notice that things were amiss” He said although in doubts but he probably couldn’t share all his thoughts else he’d become too much of a talkative.

And he couldn’t risk letting her know too much, who knows when she’d decide to backstab him, only time would tell if she was a true partner or a one-time person. He was quite a practical person when it came to choosing a team mate for him it relied on two things, firstly if he was able to trust you and second if you will be a liability to his overall success.

That was why he’d never call her by her name till he was sure he could trust her and that she wasn’t a leech, sticking to him for protection.

“Grenia!!!” He suddenly raised his voice startling her, but he didn’t wait for her to react as he dashed towards her pushing her to the side.

As Allison fell to the ground a bullet flew past the spot where she once stood causing a huge dent in the smooth rock ground.

“Huh, what just happened?.. “ Allison who was still stunned by the sudden attack asked, with dread clearly written on her face.

“I don’t know, but keep your guard up. I believe we have uninvited guests” Tenkin mumbled his words, as he didn’t want his enemy to hear what he had said. In sync a staff surfaced and he held it firmly on his hands.

He made a few swings before putting it behind his back, paying keen attention to his surroundings. Allison stood up, a white glow enshrouded her hands and following that two small daggers emerged in both her hands.

The structures around were quite much, giving his opponents an upper hand as they could attack stealthily from the dark.

“This is fucked up” he cursed under his breath.

Williams wasn't in a slightest happy with the news he'd just seen. His heart was racing, Allison was the only daughter he had, he couldn't let anything happen to her at all.

With urgency he stood up from the chair heading out through the stairs leading to the hallway. Down the stairs he crossed paths with Stephen.

"Sir I have prepared your te..." He started but wasn't given the chance to complete his statement as William zoomed past him, not even sparing him a glance.

He quickly returned back to the sitting room where he'd met Tank earlier that morning and thankfully the latter was still there.

"Prepare the limousine, I'm heading out now" He said with the urgency clearly engraved into his words.

"What happen..."

William left the sitting room heading back to his large sized bed room to have a change of clothes.

He was going to go talk to the CEO of the company, he needed solutions to the problem instantly.

In a flash he was already prepared to leave, stepping out of the mansion he could see the limousine upfront, clearly parked in wait for him.

Stephen stood in front, his tall firm stature standing straight. He had his black suite on with a matching pair of black trouser, and topped it off with a deep dark sun glasses that made it near impossible for anyone to see his eyes.

As William neared the car, he pulled the door open gesturing him to enter. Inside the car, Tank was already seated waiting for him.

He entered inside resting his back on the thick black leathery seat cover, still in deep thought. Stephen closed the door and went round to take the driver's seat.

"What's going on" Tank didn't waste time to ask his questions from earlier again.

"I saw the news this morning and it was saying something about the VR game Allison and Nolan purchased.

They said there was some kind of system operation failure and those that have entered the game already can't come out anymore" He said fumbling with his fingers, probably thinking of what to do next.

"Stephen, put on the digital display" he added.

An interface suddenly appeared in front of the two, displaying the news.

".......With us here now is the CEO of the Star fire company, Mr Claven

-Sir please can you tell us what brought about the system failure? And possibly what can be done to stop this? The news reporter asked.

Mhm, he cleared his thought, sitting up straight not to rumple his white Giorgio Armani tuxedo.

-Well, honestly speaking I have no idea what brought about the sudden system failure but my research team just found it to be a glitch.

As for the possible solutions to the problem, we have nothing. on the table I don't think anything can be done about it.....

Listening to the man speak arrogantly like it had nothing to do with him annoyed William so much, he hated people like these who always thought they were on top of the world.

Pulling out his phone he made a quick dial. "Mario." he said through the phone.

"Senator Williams, what a pleasant surprise. To what do I owe this sudden call?" Mario replied with a surprised voice.

"Send out a troupe to WWN headquarters, I need you to take Claven .A. Arrington CEO of the Starfire industry into custody now!" William said with anger clearly written in his voice.

He didn't like the latter's nonchalant behavior towards the life of billions he had endangered.

-Please, I will urge that you all bear with me for the main time, our research team will quickly get back to you. However, please do not try to remove the VR set from the players while they are still in the game it might cause serious issues for us.

-Still in WWN; you have heard from Mr Claven. We will be right back to give you the best of the news.

Going on a short break, stay tuned the reporter said cutting off the sever.

William on the other hand was already on his way to the WWN headquarters, and the news had just whipped up every ounce of mercy he wanted to show the bastard.
