Chapter 60

|3rd POV|

The fight started with a bang. Both swords meet in the middle of the arena. The sound of metal meeting another metal can be heard throughout the arena.

"Good! Good! You can keep up with me! Now show me! Show me the famous Feitas River Dance!"

"With pleasure!"

The audience can hear their words, and they get even more excited. The already intense opening gets even more intense when Jacob starts his dance. Jacob starts to make his move, and with each lock to make his opponent follow his rhythm, Julian welcomes it with a grin on his face.

"Great! Great! I will be your dance partner."

Julian starts to push back the dance by stopping Jacob from controlling his movement and swing. This is one of the few weaknesses of the Feitas River Dance. It cannot be done when someone knows when to push and use their superior strength to counter the attack.

In the next three minutes, Jacob is still the one controlling the rhythm, but Julian can keep up and even do his own counterattack. Both of them move at very high speed, and each of their blows creates a sound as if a hammer meets steel.

"Hahahahaha! I now know! I know the weakness of his fighting style!"

"Oh? Truly?"

Instead of answering, when Jacob goes for the bind, Julian's smirk gets even bigger, and he lowers his body and then twists his sword upwards to change the direction of the bind. Before, it was Jacob's sword on the top and Julian's on the bottom, but now the roles have switched.

All of a sudden, Julian is now in control, and Jacob gets pushed back by a barrage of strikes from Julian.

"Feitas River Dance! I have been watching, learning and studying this technique since I saw you fight for the first time. I have been planning how to counter your fighting style and the only thing I need to do is to taste your fighting style to make a perfect counter and copy your style!"

Jacob grits his teeth as Julian creates a rhythm that counters and keeps binding his movement with his sword.

"Thank you for a great fighting style, Jacob! I will make great use of this! I will now be known as the greatest swordsman in the world!"

Jacob kicks Julian away and creates a distance between them. Jacob looks at Julian, who is smirking from ear to ear, and releases a sigh.

"Oh? Are you giving up now?"

"No. I don't want to use this. Not this early. However, you leave me no choice."

"Hmmm?"

Julian looked at Jacob in confusion before suddenly, his entire body started to shiver. To the inexperienced people, it was as if a cold wind passed them, and they did not mind it. However, the experienced fighters knew what it was.

"Oooh! It looks like Jacob is starting to get serious."

On the VIP stand, Ferid rubs his chin while grinning.

"Getting serious? Isn't he already serious? Even get pushed back!"

Lymsleia looked at her father curiously. In her eyes, her favorite fighter starts to lose when he gets pushed back. She knows that her favorite fighter will lose, but she can only accept that because she is only a future queen and can't do anything about it.

"Hahahahaha! You will understand it when you are older, my daughter. What do you think, Georg? Do you think he can win this fight?"

The entire VIP seat looks at one of the most powerful fighters in Falena. He only nods his head and looks to the sky.

"A storm is brewing."

Freyjadour, Lymsleia, and Sialeeds can only see Georg in confusion as they know there will be no storm coming as the sun is high in the sky. However, the other people nod their heads in agreement. To the side, Ferid laughs loudly.

"Bwahahahaha! This is like seeing that old hag fighting!"

In the Arena, Jacob releases a long breath and takes his stance. He pushes all his strength into his leg and appears in front of Julian in a blink of an eye. When Julian is ready to block, Jacob releases a wave of massive bloodlust into his opponent.

It did not last long, but Julian froze for a second and let Jacob's sword pass through his defense. For the next minute, Jacob mercilessly attacks Julian without stopping before Julian finally manages to break the lock by jumping away.

Sadly, he sacrifices one of his legs as Jacob manages to cut his Achilles heel. Julian grit his teeth as he feels pain in his feet when he lands. He looked at Jacob and said.

"What the hell was that?! That was completely different than before! Your footwork is all messed up! Your swing is all over the place! What was that?!"

However, instead of answering, Jacob takes his stance back and dash again.

In the VIP section, Ferid nods his head and says.

"I know it. That old hag is truly his teacher just like Sialeeds said. Only she can teach that particular style."

Freyjadour looks at his father and says,

"What style, father? Isn't that the same one as before?"

"In the name only, son. Feitas River Dance has a very deep origin, you know? They do not originally come from Falena, but rather from the Island Nation Federation. It was not a River Dance but rather a Storm Dance."

"What is the difference?"

"Feitas River was chaotic at the time but it cannot be compared to the chaotic nature of the ocean. It was unpredictable and hard to read. You need a skillful navigator to get out of the storm and great footwork in the middle of the ocean."

"Footwork?"

"Aye. Each sailor needs to know where to step because if they have a wrong footing? They will trip on their own legs and fall into the ocean."

"And what is the connection between this fighting style and the storm?"

Sialeeds decides to ask a question as she is also curious about it.

"Of course, there is a connection. Feitas River Dance has two fighting styles. The first one is the Dance of the River and the last is the Storm Dance. If the Dance of the River follows the path of the wave, Storm Dance needs the practitioner to be the storm."

Ferid smiles a little when he sees Julian's armor start to crack and blood coming out of his body.

"And do you know what a storm in the Ocean feels like? They are unpredictable, strong, and bring fear to their target."

Georg nodded his head when he heard that. Now he knows the reason Jacob releases a huge amount of bloodlust for a second every time he attacks his target.

"That is what he is doing. He brings fear every time he attacks, his swing is as strong as the storm and his movement is unpredictable just like the ocean's waves."

The others nod their heads and continue to watch the fight.

Jacob dashes forward and releases another wave of killing intent toward his opponent. However, he aims low instead of aiming at his opponent's head and heart. He keeps his sword low and attacks the stomach region, and as he does another bind, he twists his sword and swings it up.

After doing that, Jacob swung down and cut another of Julian's Achilles heels. It makes his opponent lose balance and creates a big gap for him to exploit. He kicks Julian's leg and throws him to the ground before stabbing his sword next to his neck.

"How's the voyage, my friend? I hope the sea did not make you puke."
