In the truth, I didn't find it surprising that Geth didn't have any illusions about the superweapon that was a hundred percent in Reaper's pocket.
I mean, what are the chances that Reapers wouldn't ever find about it and don't change the weapon from its original purpose into something they would benefit from?
Yea it could start as an anti-Reaper weapon, but now? No chance.

Just the materials, personnel, and ships needed to be built, it would be better used in either evacuation or fighting Reapers.
