1 Spirit Awakening Ceremony

Blue garden village lies on the outskirts of the mainland with it's neighboring villages, holy spirit village and Iron heart village. The village was fairly small, housing at most 30 families and sporting a good 4 to 5 shops. There was nothing really special about the village except for the blue silver grass that was very abundant thought the entire village.

In the outskirts of the small village, a broken down small hut stood prominently in the field of blue silver grass. Inside the hut a young boy with Raven black hair and a pair of mysterious purple eyes was looking around the hut with confusion. At times he would look down at his hands and would also touch his face and body repeatedly.

He was thinking inwardly, 'What happened?' Many thought passed though his mind but none of them seemed to help with his predicament. Just as he was about to put it to the back of his mind a splitting headache hit him hard. Grasping at his temples as he writhed in pain, many foreign memories were drilled into his head forcefully.

One after another, memory after memory fused into his mind, becoming one with him. After hours of painful memory implants the pain finally subsided and the flow of memories slowly came to an end. The boy opened his eyes and looked around still confused but this time he seemed a bit more mature and thought things through calmly.

'Hmm, so I'm Wu Yu and the foreign memories... also me?'

Wu Yu was lost, which one is him, the real him? He was struggling with which identity he should live by. Undoubtedly both were him in a way but to "both" of him, the other was a foreign existence. One person was a 6 year old boy who was born in blue garden village on the Douluo continent. The other was from a world filled with soul reapers and monsters the reapers called hollows.

Coincidentally both were named Wu Yu and both had almost the exact same looks and childhood up till the age of 6. Both were outcasts after their parents died at the age of 3 and both lived in a broken down house eating one meal per day. Also the chance to turn their life around came at almost the exact same time, for the Wu Yu of the Douluo world, that chance was this very day.

The spirit awakening ceremony, a chance for anyone to rise up from a lowly and weak worm to a powerful dragon. Luckily for Wu Yu his father before his passing managed to guarantee a chance for him to awaken his spirit otherwise knowing how black hearted this village was, he would never get the chance to rise up.

Although Wu Yu was still facing an identity crisis, he knew what was more important at this moment and got up. This moment would decide his entire life, if he missed this chance then he would never get another and forever be stuck in this damned village. Collecting himself, Wu Yu ate a small meal then left the small hut and walked into the village.

Though he was met with many glares filled with contempt and and ridicule, he kept his head down and continued onwards to the center of the village. Arriving, he saw 7 other kids already waiting with both or one of their parents standing near them also waiting for the spirit master to make his or her appearance.

As Wu Yu got closer one of the kids noticed him and started prodding at others to get their attention then pointed at him. Another boy in the group of seven flashed a contemptuous smirk and pointed at Wu Yu with a look of disdain.

"Wu Yu, you trash, you dared to come?"

Looking at the boy who was provoking him, Wu Yu scrunched his brows as he tried to recall who the boy was. It wasn't very hard to remember who he was, after all he was one of the biggest contributors to his horrible life. The boy was son of the village chief, Zhuan Jian, on multiple occasions he would beat Wu

Yu black and blue and steal his hard earned money.

Even if Wu Yu fought back it wouldn't make things any better, only worse as later in the day Zhuan Jian would just come back with his parents or friends. Of course everyone knew about this in the village but none cared and would only take the side of Zhuan Jian, hoping to get on the good side of his father, the chief.

Wu Yu glanced at Zhuan Jian but didn't pay him any mind and stood there quietly not wanting to banter with such a kid. On the other hand Zhuan Jian who saw Wu Yu completely disregarding him flared up and started running his mouth furiously.

"Wu Yu, you dare to ignore me! You want another beating?"

As if he never heard him speak, Wu Yu just minded his own business and looked around the buildings as he felt a powerful presence nearby. Many of the people around watched as Zhuan Jian berated Wu Yu with a smirk and some started to anticipate a fight, or rather a beat down.

Just like the people had anticipated, Zhuan Jian was unable to hold back his violent urges and started running towards Wu Yu with a clenched fist ready to punch. Wu Yu was unaware of Zhuan Jian as he was still trying to find out where the presence was coming from but strangely his body moved on its own and countered Zhuan Jians punch with a side step and a punch to the abdomen.

Unaware of how much force was put into his punch, Wu Yu strangely looked at his fist and then at Zhuan Jian who was holding his stomach in pain. Everyone was amazed at what had just transpired and looked at Wu Yu with complicated gazed unsure of what to feel. In the distance, unnoticed by anyone, a man in his early twenties slowly made his way toward the center of the village.

When the man got to the center where everyone was, he cleared his throat and spoke out loudly so no one would miss what he had to say.

"Ahem, I am a spirit master rank 26, here for the awakening ceremony, all those who are awakening their spirits line up in front of me, I will awaken you one by one!"

Very quickly every child lined up no exceptions, even Zhuan Jian who was ready to give to order to beat Wu Yu. Glaring at Wu Yu hatefully Zhuan Jian pushed his way to the front of the line while Wu Yu just quietly stood in the back of the line. Seeing that everyone was in line, the spirit master nodded then yelled out, "Lone Wolf!" and began to grow white fur all over his body while his features started looking like that of a wolf.

Flashing a blue orb out of nowhere, the spirit master said, "Alright I will first awaken your spirits then measure your spirit power with this orb."

The first child, Zhuan Jian puffed out his chest and walked up to the spirit master ready to be awakened. Looking at the prideful child in front of him, the spirit master shook his head in disapproval but still began to awaken his spirit. A golden ring of light started to envelope Zhuan Jian for a short second before a black dog appeared behind him.

"Mmm, good, you got the putrid mutt, not really weak but also not strong."

All the children gasped in amazment when they saw Zhuan Jians spirit. One has to know that in this particular village it's almost impossible to get anything better than a blue silver grass spirit and the lucky ones got a farming tool. Zhuan Jian felt even more accomplished when he got a spirit that was incredibly rare for this small village.

"Place your hand on the ball, this will measure your spirit power, if you have any then you have a chance to become a spirit master."

Zhuan Jian nodded and put his hand on the ball and after a few seconds the ball lit up dimly, barley noticibale. The spirit master looked at the ball and nodded his head, "Good you have 1 spirit power." Once again the group of children gasped in amazment except for one child in the back who just watched on apathetically.

Having finished his awakening, Zhuan Jian walked to the back and sneered at Wu Yu, "You see that? I'll become a spirit master while you'll be a worm here like always." Again Wu Yu just ignored him and was off in his own little world, thinking about some things he could try in this world from the other one.

Zhuan Jian looked even more pissed off but knew better than to cause a commotion while the spirit master was here so he just warned Wu Yu, " Once the spirit master leaves, I'll make you beg for mercy." Then he walked away, back into the line up of children, waiting for the ceremony to end, he was sure no one could surpass him.

His thoughts were somewhat true as one child after another got a blue silver grass spirit with no spirit power, except for one who got a pickaxe but no spirit power. When it was finally Wu Yu's turn, he walked up slowly and stood before the spirit master while the kids in the back were whispering about him.

Looking at Wu Yu for a bit, the spirit master felt something strange about him but quickly shook it off. Like all the other times a golden ring enveloped Wu Yu and his spirit slowly made its appearance. It was a big 9 foot creature that resembled a Qilin from legends, it had a dragon like head with two beautiful antlers made of jade and a lusturous white mane running town it's back.

From the head down, it had the body of a deer, covered in light blue scales, resembling ocean waves. Going down, a stomp on the ground with it's horse like hooves caused a tremor to the surroundings while it's long ox tail thicker than normal, viciously whipped at the ground causing a sharp noise to be heard.

"Q...q... qilin, oh god, no way, it's the legendary qilin?"

Falling to the ground out of shock, the spirit master looked at the qilin with fear but also excitement. The spirit master quickly tried to composed himself then examined Wu Yu's spirit closely and noticed something odd. He looked at Wu Yu then back to the Qilin back and forth then stopped at Wu Yu.

"Child, what's your name?" asked the spirit master.

Wu Yu plainly stated, "Wu Yu."

Nodding his head, the spirit master then proceeded to ask, "Wu Yu, your spirit, can you fuse with it?"

Wu Yu scrunched his brows then tried to fuse with the Qilin but to no avail, "No, it seems I can't."

The spirit master widened his eyes in shock that said, "It seems your Qilin spirit had a mutation, I can't tell if it's good or bad though."

Wu Yu simply nodded then asked, "mutation? what does that mean?"

"I don't know too much and not well versed in this subject, all I know is spirits sometimes tend to take a different path than others and become a variation, sometimes these changes are good while other times they tend to be detrimental, that's all I know." The spirit master said all that he knew about mutations.

Nodding his head Wu Yu then asked, "Then, can I measure my spirit power now?"

Scratching his head in embarrassment, the spirit master almost forgot to measure Wu Yu's spirit power as he was so shocked about his Qilin spirit. Taking out the orb, the spirit master brought it in front of Wu Yu and said, "place your hand on the orb." Wu Yu complied and lightly touched the orb causing it to light up intensely almost blinding him if he didn't shut his eyes.

"My god, I... I... inate full spirit power?!" The spirit master exclaimed.

Wu Yu looked at the spirit master with an inquisitive look and asked, "Inate full spirit power? What's that?"

The spirit master looked at Wu Yu then explained, "Inate full spirit power is when you are born with the max amount of spirit power a spirit scholar can have, 10!"

"Oh, ok, can I leave now?" After getting everything he needed, Wu Yu wanted to immediately leave and go home to start packing. He knew that he had great talent now and any power would be willing to take him in and nurture him unlike this village that only treated him with malice.

"Ah, yes, you can all leave now!"

On the other hand Zhuan Jian who had witnessed everything was trembling along with a couple of other kids. They knew they had f***** up, right now they were regretting everything they had done. They also knew what this situation meant, with Wu Yu having this much talent, he could get any power to completely destroy them.

As Wu Yu was walking past the group of kids, the spirit masters voice sounded from the back surprising everyone also causing all the kids to tremble even further, "Right, Wu Yu, would you like to join the spirit hall?"
