20 Gold-Finger

Chapter 20

Lily moved while Dev was sleeping one day, waking him up. After feeling threatened, she hissed in a certain direction. During the past 7 months, Lily's size hasn't increased at all. Dev found her just a little bit taller than when she was first found.

In the direction in which Lily was hissing, he saw a marmot. He didn't dare to lay down. When he found out that the marmot was bigger than Lily, he was shocked. Moreover, the marmot seemed to pose a threat to him.

Waiting for the attack was not his style. After selecting his bow and attaching an arrow, he aimed and shot the marmot. The marmot was too fast for the arrow to hit it. Almost immediately, the marmot arrived near them.

Despite Lily's warnings to the marmot, he didn't take them seriously since he was a Level 1 being.

The target of Marmot's spying had always been Lily, so he pounced on her to kill her. Dev couldn't allow the marmot to attack Lily, so he waited until the marmot got within clear range of his arrow before firing.

Dev shot the arrow before the marmot had a chance to touch Lily. The arrow pierced the marmot's heart, and in one shot, the arrow killed him.

The arrow was shot by injecting some of Dev's Prana, so it had a lot of power. Dev's successful shot was the result of his archery training over the past few months.

Dev was suddenly caught off guard by the death of the marmot.

In response to the marmot's death, Dev felt an increase in Prana in his body as external energy entered his body. It astonished Dev. Such a thing had never been written or heard about before. He did not know how this happened. Why did it happen?

Having thought about opening the status to determine if it was true, he decided to check it. When suddenly, a black screen with white fonts appeared in front of him:

Prana: 1.08 (+0.08),

Pocket Space: 1 Cu. M,

A notable increase in Prana caught his attention.

In this universe, everything born is bound to act according to the laws of the Multiverse.

This multiverse's creator energy is called World energy. It does not matter if they are mortals or gods, their bodies hold World energy according to their level.

Therefore, when someone dies, their energy returns to its origin, back to the world where they were born. Only if a world dies does the energy return to the multiverse.

The remnant consciousness of the Earth's energy created Dev's body by destroying his previous one and the Earth recreated his body using World energy. After the destruction of the Earth, the remnant consciousness of the Earth's energy sought revenge by creating Dev's new body.

The result of all this was that Dev himself became a mass of World energy, like a planet. In truth, he should have never been able to accomplish this, but Earth's consciousness for revenge defied the rules of the Multiverse.

Adding to Dev's luck, he also acquired a skill that only those at level 8 or above, or planets conscious of their existence, have: which is the art of manipulating energy.

When one starts on the path of Levels. Unbeknownst to the owner, the body starts gathering world energy from the planet. This energy is required by life for its evolution. As a result, he did not feel any sense of benefit from killing the boar or hunting others during the last few months, because the animals simply did not hold any World Energy that would have been of benefit to him, and the energy was not pure, either. The higher the level, the purer the World energy, the stronger the advantage for Dev.

When Marmot died, the lost World energy latched onto Dev, the closest Mass of World Energy, and had the manipulating ability instead of assimilating into the planet.

Finally, Dev got his Goldfinger. He looked delighted and eager with a beaming expression on. Using this cheat, his path to becoming the [Eternal] was made easier than before. He looked up in the sky and yelled with a determined face, "Just wait for me, I'll revive you all." Lily also meowed in response to his yelling.

He looked at the marmot's body and then at Lily. He decided to store the meat of the marmot for her as he already had gotten the energy he needed from the marmot.

He took out a knife from his backpack and started cutting it into pieces. He was cutting the marmot's body into pieces when suddenly his knife hit something hard and couldn't be cut by the knife. When he checked what was the hard thing, he noticed a strange black crystal the size of a nail. He had never seen anything like this. He was checking it from every corner, but still, he couldn't find anything. He also tried to crush the strange crystal, but nothing happened to the crystal no matter how much force he used.

He couldn't find what it was, so he stored it in his Pocket Space thinking, what if it's something important? After taking out the crystal, his knife found no disturbance, so he cleanly cut the meat and stored it.

He continued the journey without any further interruptions or problems after this episode. After traveling for about a year, he eventually reached the mountain where the Dwarves lived underground.

Since Dwarves believed themselves to be descendants of Ymir, who was the progenitor and goddess of Giants, the mountain was named Ymir mountain to commemorate her and to impart a sense of pride among their descendants.

An enormous portal lay at the foot of the mountain. All visitors to the city must enter through this portal. The city was known as Kajiya.

There is only one Dwarven city remaining in Nehan, and that is Kajiya.

In the past, Dwarves once held many kingdoms and a huge empire in Nehan. They were also known as one of the most arrogant races.

It was arrogance that led to the downfall of many, including the Dwarves. Having acted arrogantly in the past, they offended someone they shouldn't have. It almost led the Dwarves to extinction because of that act.

The Dwarves would've already become extinct if Nehan's overlord, the Elves, hadn't stood up for them. For that reason, Kajiya is located on the continent of Elf. It is almost impossible for anyone to harm them here as long as they live. Their arrogance also softened as a result of almost extinction.

The portal was guarded by a giant tiger sleeping nearby. The tiger looked exactly like Lily, except it was a giant version of Lily. When Dev saw the tiger, he was shocked, because he didn't want Lily to turn into such a monster.

Queues were forming for entry into the city, with people waiting their turn. Due to the tiger, no one dared to make a scene. Finally, it was Dev's turn to enter the portal.

When will Dev reach level 1?

We'll find out next time...
