CHAPTER 2: Start

Today is the time for another batch of 5 years old humans to improve their brain capacity. Their superhuman parents accompany them towards the venue in the Government Potential Association. In this time many things change since the evolution of earth, superhuman don't need the transportation as they could teleport themselves within a certain destination, and everything is powered by magic.

In a small alley besides the building of the association, an old woman and a young boy appeared. Their clothes resembles a small family could ever wear, very ordinary yet the two of them still looks elegant the way they moved especially the aura of the elderly emanating from her body which is no weaker than a patriarch of a large family. The young boy shows no fear of what possible things will happen later. His expression never faltered, only delight could be seen in his face. The two of them slowly walk towards the entrance of the association while the elder holds the hand of the young boy with love and care. Many disdainful gazes shifted towards them but they still continue to walk forward as if they don't noticed the criticism of others. Despite of the earth's evolution, the manners of some people never really change. Status is still important and the same time, prowess.

When they reached the front desk the lady assigned there asked with a humble manner but pride could be seen in her eyes. After providing the information needed she bring the child over the waiting station

"Grandmother, would you going to miss me when I gone?" the young boy asked the old woman.

"Of course my dear, who would never miss this lovely grandson of mine?" she responded while smiling towards him.

"Then, Grandmother I will make sure not to fail you and comeback with my body attached and breathing." he replied with a stern expression.

"You silly boy," the only phrase come out form the old woman's mouth while hugging her grandson.

"Grandma!" he replied with an irritated face.

After that, they quietly watched parents with their children exiting and entering the building.

"Nathan? Nathan Darkiem? It's your turn now." A woman called over as she came out of the room.

"I am being called now grandma," he told the old woman.

The old lady nodded and mouthed "Good luck" as Nathan glanced back at her for the last time before he enters the room.

"Your grandma surely loves you huh?" the lady asked Nathan as she close the door behind them.

"Uhm," Nathan replied while nodding his head once.

When Nathan looked around the room, he could see nothing but a massive machine at the middle of the large room with many wire and apparatus could be seen.

"This is quite troublesome isn't it? I asked the lady beside me.

"This is only a pre taste of the tough road ahead of you, the start of your journey towards power and the beginning of your struggles." She said to me

I laugh at her answer in my head, "of course this is a predicament, just like my grandma used to tell me, that's why she trained me the basics of survival and impart me some knowledge of magic but of course what I really want to ask her is that in terms of making this technology, hahaha." Just in my thought.

"You sit on that chair and tell me when you're ready," she told me after inputting something on the computer.

I approached the machine as it really amazed. It is a product of intelligent human without having prowess but still they succeed how much more of success of me having my ability.

As I sat on the chair area, something circular enveloped my head, this look like thing my grandma describes me about some hair salon in the past! Really ingenious! Really Amazing invention!

I signalled her to start the process as I felt the confidence in facing this advancement.

After she pushed some buttons, she directly faced me and smiled.

I slowly heard a buzzing sound, little by little becoming faster and faster as the sound becoming higher and higher. I feel my head going to explode at any moment, this is enough to make someone deaf or even kill. I calmed myself but I cannot deny the fact that I am bathing with my own sweat. I felt powerless and jelly at the same time. I know I am reaching my limits. As saw a blinking red lights but I only heard the buzzing sound brought by the machine. I felt the sound coming closer and closer to me as my chest pound so strong. And the last thing I know before my consciousness flew away is that there is something wrong, there's no such thing happened to the previous examinees and at the same time I saw a wonderful world full of colours and lines.

The gazes of each and every one turn towards the door where an alarmed triggered and red light keeps blinking.

In their thoughts there must be something happen to the child who took his test. What a shame another one died, they sighed.

The old woman panicked as her mind fallen into chaos, she thought that nothing will happen to her grandson as he was strong for his age.

Some personnel of the association approached and calmed her. But later on the sounds stop and the red lights dimmed. That's the time where she finally felt relieved. Suddenly the woman who accompanies Nathan inside came out the room with an assuring face toward her.

She approached the lady in the front desk and told her what happened inside and you could saw a seriousness of the matter on her expression.

Then she finally approached the old woman and introduce herself, "Hello to you, I am Bella" she said as she throw a questioning look at the old lady.

"Oh! Hello dear, you can call me Morgan and I am the grandmother of that lovely boy, Nathan How is he?" she told Bella.

"Well Morgan your grandson is quite lucky as he passed it but there must be a troublesome issue here." She replied to Morgan as she leads her towards the room.

As soon as Morgan enters the room she could see Nathan unconsciously sitting in the chair area of the machine.

"Well Morgan as you had already undergone this situation in those years and you probably know the result and the objectives of this test and that is to push the brain capacity of every child.

"Usually, everyone had 10% of their brain works from the start then this machine could push it up to 50% or more," she explained further.

"So what do you imply here, that my grandson surpasses the 50% limit?" Morgan replied.

"Yes, Nathan exceeds the limit of this machine could do and this instances only happens when the starting point of your brain capacity already surpassed 10%,"

"There are some instances like this in the past but very rare but those individuals who suffered the same situation are those talented and powerful one." She added.

"So, what is Nathan's brain capacity this time?" Morgan asked excitedly.

"Well, this, we really don't know Morgan since the machine only indicate that it reached the threshold of 50% once it showed green light then if it is red it surpassed the limit." She explained.

"That was awesome!" Nathan suddenly blurted out which makes the two female jumped out of their wits.

"You ungrateful child how could you make grandma this worried," Morgan scolded him but still her love towards this grandson of hers topped everything.

"Well, Nathan you should go now since you are going to prepare for your departure tomorrow, good luck to your journey!" Bella remind him.

"I apologized grandma, and I am very grateful to you miss Bella" I said sincerely towards the two of them.

Grandma could only shake her head out of everything.

As soon as we exited the room, questioning gazes shot directly towards us errrr especially me. I really don't know what happen after I became unconscious. And, I only heard the last part of Grandma's and Miss Bella's conversation. Maybe I should asked grandma later about everything.

As soon as Nathan and Morgan exited the room and Bella remained inside standing with a huge smile pasted on her face and breathed out heavily for the things conspired a while ago.
