1 The Enslaved Otherworldly Human

Azure Planet.

Mages populated the world, their magic ranging from elemental control to manipulation of matter. However, the magic that most mages used, as it was the easiest to learn and utilize, was Summoning Magic.

Choose a race to summon, draw a magic circle, and watch as the magic unfolded itself.

The summoned beast would be bound to the summoning magic, and so would not be able to go against the summoner's orders, lest they feel immense pain.

At this moment, Gavien, a summoned beast of the human race, glared at his summoner.

His wrists were cuffed, and his feet were tied to the legs of a chair. He struggled all he could as he tried to free himself from his restraints.

His summoner glared at him in disgust as she saw his pitiful state.

"Father, my summoned beast always defies my orders! How come?!"

"I already told you not to summon an otherworldly humanoid as your first beast. They have strong willpower most of the time and are hard to corrupt!"

"But father, they look so much like our mortal enemies from the human kingdom! Doesn't it feel good to enslave them?"

"Enough, Partya. If you wanted to torture an otherworldly humanoid, you could have just summoned one as your second beast. You know you are forever bound to the first beast you summon, you cannot recall them."

"Father..."

"Take care of this yourself. I'll see you at the dinner table."

Partya's father walked out of the room, slamming the door shut.

Gavien and Partya stared at the door for a good few seconds.

"...Is he gone?"

Partya hurriedly removed Gavien's restraints and apologized with a whisper.

"I'm really sorry, Gavien, I didn't think my father would suddenly barge in like that."

"Ah, it's fine, it's fine." Gavien sighed.

The act that Partya ordered him to play was to be the spiteful summoned beast whenever her father was around. After all their race, the Demonic race, hated the human kingdom the most.

If the ruler of the Demonic race saw his one and only daughter getting along with one of the humans, how would he react?

Gavien sat on Partya's bed as he opened the system panel.

[Name: Gavien]

[Race: Human (Earth)]

[Status: Enslaved]

[Master: Partya Sergil]

[Mission Progress: 0/100]

"Partya, have you found another otherworldly human yet?"

"Not yet." Partya pursed her lips. "The otherworldly humans that us demons summon always either wind up dead or tortured to the brink of death. They wouldn't... be of particular use to your objective."

"Tsk, damn it." Gavien angrily stood up. "I just want to go home."

"I'm, I'm really sorry." Partya bowed her body, apologetic to the homesick Gavien.

She could still remember herself as a small 12-year-old sneaking into the library and snatching herself a Summoning book, even when her father specifically forbid herself from doing so.

After all, she felt very lonely and had no friends to speak to. She accidentally summoned Gavien, who was wearing a highschool uniform and a cone hat while eating a slice of pizza.

At that time, she had no knowledge of anything summoning related. As she tried to recall Gavien back to his home world, she realized that she hadn't the ability to.

And so, for three whole years, she hid Gavien in her room as he begged for her to let him go back.

As she turned 15, she formally learned summoning magic from a teacher, and only then did she find out that the first summoned beast could not be recalled.

After her lessons, she pretended to have summoned Gavien just recently so her father would not suspect anything.

And now, she was about to turn 18, still stuck on looking for a way to bring Gavien back to his home world.

Meanwhile, Gavien hadn't aged a day since he was summoned. Such was the life of a summoned beast.

"Ah, it's okay. Stop apologizing already." At this point, Gavien was already tired of Partya's constant apologies. After all, they knew each other for 6 years already.

"So, as I thought, we need to sneak out of the Demon Kingdom."

Gavien and Partya looked out the window.

The sun was of a purplish hue, staining the forest right outside.

"But, I've never ventured out of the castle before. And what about father?"

"We talked about this already, haven't we? You promised."

"Ah, yes... Yes, you're right. I should not be so fragile, especially when it comes to promises."

Partya quivered as she thought that she was about to betray her father by sneaking out. Once she returned, what would his reaction be?

"We set out tonight." Gavien was full of determination.

.....

Nighttime.

The moon glowed a perfect blue as the nightly breeze ran across Gavien's unkempt face.

"Come on, climb down already!"

"Umm, okay."

Partya gulped as she looked at the long rope made of her blankets, hanging out of her window. She felt that it would snap at any second should she attempt to climb down.

However, she thought of Gavien and how he climbed down without a hitch.

With a deep breath, she jumped out of the window, her hands gripping the blanket tightly.

Her feet slowly moved down the brick wall as she descended.

"You're close enough, you can jump now!"

Gavien held out his arms.

"What?"

"Just jump!"

Startled by Gavien's voice suddenly getting louder, Partya let go of the blanket. Instantly, she felt fear-stricken as her whole body felt weightless.

In a split second, Gavien caught the lightweight Partya, their faces near each other.

"Are you okay? I'm sorry for shouting at you."

"Ye-yes, I'm fine." Partya turned her head away.

Gavien sighed as he put Partya down the grass. Gripping his backpack, he breathed in.

"Okay, we're out. Let's get moving."

Partya shyly nodded as she followed along.

She looked at the direction of her father's bedroom and whispered.

"Father, I'm really sorry for sneaking out, but don't worry about me. I'll be back in about 6 months, before I turn 18."

And so, the pair of demon and human ventured into the forest.
