Scent of another
I walked down the halls of school the next day sleep deprived. The little pup who's name I came to know as Elman was howling late in the night because of a nightmare. He was shaking as the memory of his narrow escape came back to him.
"How is the pup." Jacob asked me as he run a hand around my shoulder.
"Elman is fine, his family and pack how ever are not." I say continuing my trek.
"Shit." He says running a hand through his hair that's when Julia came up to me and rushed me away. I shouted to Jacob I'd talk to him later as she dragged me all the way to the girl's bathroom.
"Why the hell do you smell like another male wolf." She says frantically.
"Its because I rescued a pup with Jacob yesterday and I thought I got the scent off me." I say holding the hem of my shirt.
"Well you're lucky he's not here yet." She says.
"What do I do?" I ask.
Then suddenly the door barges open and my heart skips ten beats. When I realized who it was I allowed myself to breathe. As much as I wouldn't admit it I did want Damien to smell Elman on me but another part of me knew he may kill him just because of the scent alone.
"Is there another alpha at school and why do you smell like him?" Blair says shutting the door.
"How far away were you?" Julia askes her and looked to me horrified when she said the woods. We explain to Blair why I had the scent of another wolf lathered on me and she got frighten.
"Athena you need to go back home." She says and I agreed with her. Who knows what Damien would do but as soon as I walked out I saw Damien heading my way. My brain went in overdrive thinking about how I would get away.
'We could run home' my wolf say shuddering as power and anger emitted in waves off of Damien.
'We maybe leading him to Elman,' I say to her trying to calm myself.
"Run!" Julia and Blair said to me and I did so and took off with a fuming Damien running after me out the school and into the woods.
I felt as if I was prey and Damien the predator was hunting me as his body rippled and changed into his wolf so he could run faster than me in my human form. I kept my pace and refused to change not wanting to destroy my clothes.
That when the scent hit me, I knew it hit Damien too because he stopped as Elman jumped out of the trees and in between the two of us growling at Damien.
I watched as Damien's attention drifted from me to Elman and knew he was in danger. Damien lunged and I had no choice but to change and protect him Jumping in the way as Damien's teeth sank into my neck. Blood stained my white coat as pain shot into me like sparks. As realization hit Damien and he instantly let me go backing away in shock.
Elman came up to me and started to lick the wound. Damien just looked at me stunned as Elman whined. He'd just hurt me. I see and feel the emotions swirling around in his eyes. My breathing became weak and my eyes were begging to be closed. I used my fleeting strength and lift myself to lick Elman to let him know I was ok. I didn't believe I was however. Damien's powerful blow could have been enough to kill me. Elman whined again and turned to look at Damien once more I could tell but the way he stood he was ready to defend me if need arose. He thought Damien would attack me again. Little did he know the first time was a accident and he was really aiming for him.
Damien watched my actions and whined and came towards me only to be stopped by a furious Elman. Anger clouded Damien's yellow eyes as his alpha form came out but it did nothing to Elman because he too was an alpha.
Damien decided to change into his human for and walked to me after telling Elman he was my mate. Elman changed too and started to pet me as I became weaker. My eyes began closed the fight I had to keep away being drained away. I felt Damien's big hand sending soothing tinges to my body and as darkness swept in my body was lift and I saw and heard nothing more.
