Mason leaned closer and kissed her forehead.

They both held gazes for a moment and then he bent his head taking her lips in his. He gently kissed her.

Ava placed her head on his shoulder and Mason wrapped his arm around her.

"What did Deb say was her reason for killing your mother? Not that there should be a justifiable reason for her action anyway."

Mason went on to tell her how they had abducted Deb after she gave Edith hush money, and made her confess to her crime he left out the part where they had to torture her.

"I'm sorry Mason," Ava said raising her head to look at Mason. She knew how much Mason loved and respected Deb. She could imagine his disappointment.

"So Deb was having an affair with your father while your mother was still alive?" Ava was still finding it difficult to wrap her head around everything.

"Yeah she was. And she was busy acting like miss two goody shoes. Making everyone love her."
