Psyker System - A Disturbance in the Warp

This is my first ever fanfic and I won't be trying to have perfect grammar, so there will be some mistakes. Although I love 40k lore, I'm not perfect, so there will be inaccuracies and I will welcome any criticism. Thanks for giving it a read! Updates will be on most weekdays, rarely on weekends. This takes a lot of inspiration from Death Korps of Justice, please go check it out, it's a great read! I don't own the cover, all rights go to the owner.

System Activates, Psyker Awakens

Earth, a planet overlooked by almost every major power in the universe for the simple reason, they didn't even know that it existed. Located in a different galaxy than Holy Terra, an almost identical copy of the planet, its surrounding solar and the species inhabiting it.

However, this species of man had not yet gone through the dark age of technology and entered into its age of religious fanaticism. In fact, it appeared that they hadn't even obtained some of the simplest technology possessed by the Imperium of Man.

Currently, the humans on the planet were still in, what a historian would call, the tribal era. And in this ancient time of humanity, in a desert just outside of what would be considered the Fertile Crescent, a portal opened in the sky.

The moment that the portal appeared, a brightly colored mass fell through the portal and began hurtling towards the ground. As it was falling, the energy began to form the shape of a human, then started growing bones, organs, muscles, skin and finally hair.

By the time that the creature struck the earth, it had already formed a complete body. This creature was B-49032, our friendly neighborhood soldier from the grim-dark future.

Now that his clothes were gone and he had fallen onto the ground, his features were open to observation, revealing a young man with average looks and dark brown hair. If his eyes could open yet, they would reveal bright-blue irises that seemingly matched with the previously deceased Chaos God.

After his body reformed, he regained his mental awareness, but he was unable to move his body because although he had somehow reformed his body, nerves were much more complicated and would take time to fully form and connect to his muscles.

This didn't mean he wasn't aware of what was happening around him though. He could feel the sand against his skin and the blistering heat burning his back. Lying in a pile of sand, his mind started to process what had just happened to him.

'Am I dead, is this the afterlife? Has the Emperor chosen me for his Celestial Army or have I been damned to the Warp?'

'This is strange, I can still feel my surroundings, can souls feel physical sensations? Did I perhaps survive that attack and I'm just lying on the floor in that heretic's castle.'

'Since, I can't move at the moment, I'll just have to wait for what comes next, whether that is eternal happiness in the Emperor's grace or continuing my missing to act as the blade of the Emperor.'

Soon, he began to hear voices around him. They were strange because although the voices sounded human, they spoke a language unlike anything in the Imperium. 'Xenos?!?' he thought, trying to tense his body before he realized that he was still incapable of movement.

The voices got closer to him and although he didn't understand what they were saying, he could tell that they sounded curious. Then one voice got particularly close to him and poked him with what felt like a stick.

After he didn't react, the rest of the voices came right up to him and he felt his body being grabbed by hands, lifted off the ground and be carried off somewhere.

In that moment, while the soldier was wondering what to do, a disturbance went off in his mind that reminded him of the bells rung in the churches of the Imperium.

And as the bell rung, messages began to appear in his mind.

The moment those last words were uttered, pain ripped through his body as the orb that had merged with him began to pulse and send shocks through his body, causing his still-paralyzed body to begin convulsing and scaring the creatures carrying him into dropping him.

He heard the voices start to panic and touch him, but the pain was still going off throughout his body, as the very essence that made up his personality begin to twist and cramp in an effort to adapt to the psychic energy tearing through his body.

The pain began to diminish as the waves stopped passing and as he gained release from the mind-wracking pain, his consciousness was released as well, drifting off to sleep.

Through the newly established connection to the Warp, chaotic energy, charged with emotion began to enter his body through the 'system' which filtered out the raw emotions and ejected them into the air.

The processed energy was then directed back toward the system which absorbed the cleansed energy and turned it into knowledge, arcane knowledge to be specific. This information was then injected into the mind of its host and the system stopped collecting energy.

As the creatures carried him off, these raw emotions from the Warp began to slowly permeate their minds with thoughts of chaos, wrath, schemes, slothfulness and debauchery.

The energies of the Warp, thankfully, were slow-acting and never corrupted someone all at once, they instead preferred to lurk in the edges of their victim's subconscious to plant ideas of chaos and heresy in their minds.

But, the creatures carried on with their walk, none the wiser, excited to present this stranger to their lords. As the sun began to set, the finally returned to the large walled city that was their home.

As they passed by farmers out in their fields, some would stop their work and gawk at this stranger who looked so different from them. Some would even follow the stranger into the city, eager to hear what their leaders thought about this man.

Eventually, they arrived at the home of their leaders, a beautiful sprawling garden complex which they lived beneath. Those carrying the stranger walked toward the head of their lords, a tall humanoid that appeared feminine, but had potent energies permeating through her being.

They arrived near her and rested the stranger on the floor in front of them before engaging her with a conversation, trying to explain the situation.

After they finished talking, she adopted a thoughtful expression and looked at the stranger before she made up her mind and approached him with her arms extended. As she placed her hands on him, her energy began to be sucked in by him, being absorbed into his body.

The system noticed a new source of energy and began to greedily devour it, converting it into strength for its host. She tried to pull back, but found herself stuck in place as her energy was devoured by the unconscious stranger.

After her energy was emptied into the stranger, two things happened, the woman collapsed onto the ground and... he opened his eyes.
