39 Chapter 38 - Battle of New York

[May of 2012]

[°New York City°]

Andrew leisurely exited the the new headquarters of Celestial Industries, yes you heard that right. Andrew made a troublesome decision and made the A.I.M change its name to Celestial Industries just a few days after the company surfaced from the shadow.

The headquarters is located in Upstate New York. Andrew walked while sipping from his smoothie as he took a look at the clear blue sky.

"I can feel it. Anytime now." He muttered as he then continued walking and then got on the new car that he bought using the money he got from the company.

Currently. He's one of the largest shareholder of A.I.M and but only a few knows that he's the real boss behind it. The company is already on its way to becoming a multi-billionaire company and this will just increase more in the future.

It definitely works wonders if a company suddenly introduced something like a knock-off version of extremis as A.I.M in the past was actually not well known but in only about two weeks, the company became something that everyone would just think in their dreams.

Some would think why Andrew doing all of this. The answer lies in Andrew's plans. You see, he have thought about it for days and he have come to a decision that he will not just have the people's loyalty through strength, but he will also use the way of trust.

His plan was very simple. Build a company like no one have ever seen before and from there, he will start to expand and exert his influence through the trust that the whole world will place upon his fake persona and that will be the start of the true global domination.

After that. He will use the accumulated trust that the people have build upon him and from there, he will start to elevate the status of the mutants and eventually, the mutantkind or should he say, meta-human kind, will stand atop the world itself.

Andrew also has the idea of activating the whole human race's latent meta-gene (x-gene) in the future to stop the delusions of some of those out there. But he will see as he still doesn't know if this whole plan of his will work in the first place with variables like Avengers and stuff out there.

Andrew calmly sat at a reclining chair on the windy balcony of his new house in Manhattan as he looked at the sky while munching on a double patty burger.

Sluuurp!

He then slurped his coke as he finished the burger. He then stood up after seeing a spatial hole suddenly forming above the sky as numerous foreign creatures poured out of it in large quantity.

Screech!!

The Chitauris screeched in their annoying voices as they land to the ground and began firing shots mercilessly to the running civilians using their plasma weapons.

The newly formed Avengers can be seen fighting from the ground while saving civilians at the same time.

Andrew conjured an invisible force-field around him as he lifted to he air and flew to the direction of the battle. He stopped in the air as he saw Bruce Banner turning into Hulk and effortlessly smashing a Leviathan to death with one punch.

Zzzst! Zap!

A thick bolt of lightning suddenly appeared in the ground as Thor, The God of Thunder casually waves his hammer to another Leviathan as it also fell rather easily.

Andrew who was hovering invisibly in the air furrowed his brows as he can definitely see that the version of this Avengers seems to be stronger than their movie counterpart.

He tried to test the waters stealthily as he focused his attention to Hulk and tried constricting his movements. Hulk seems to be a little confused for a bit but to Andrew's surprise. The former was able to break free from his telekinetic hold as Hulk just roared and began smashing the nearby Chitauris.

'This is.. interesting.' Andrew was amazed by the strength of the hold as one should know that even though he didn't gave his all in holding down the Hulk, but he was damn sure that no one who has the strength less than 60 tonnes should be able to break free from that.

'His current strength should be around 80 tonnes or something.' He concluded as he did a little calculation and then flew away from the Avengers.

He then landed and sat on top of the Chrysler Building as he watched the events unfolding.

Whoosh!

An arrow exploded in the face of the chitauri-riding Loki as he fell from and landed to the new Stark Tower.

He rolled for a bit but then his enhanced senses suddenly picked something as he quickly got out the way.

The large green hand of Hulk wasn't able to catch the feet of Loki and smash him to the ground as the latter tried using the Scepter to attack but then an arrow with a string struck the weapon and yanked it away from his possession.

Loki turned his head and looked at Clint who yanked the Scepter from his hand and then quickly moved again as he evaded a green fist.

Loki waves his hand and sends a green mystical concussive force blast to the Hulk which made the latter blast away from the building.

The former scoffs but another attack managed to touch him as a thick bolt of lightning struck him square to the chest.

Thump!

Thor lands inside the Stark Tower while clenching his trusted weapon and points it to Loki "Loki, this is enough! Stop this madness at once!"

Loki – who just took a minor damage from the attack – stood up while patting the dust away from his majestic robe as a mischievous smile surfaced on his face "I've missed you too, brother."

Andrew watched the Hulk furiously making his back to the Stark Tower after being blasted away and then turned his attention to Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff talking while holding the Scepter.

He stopped himself from just taking the Scepter – or should he say Mind Stone – right there and then as he still wants the wormhole to be closed.

"This is so boring.."

Though. He was getting really bored just by sitting on top of the Chrysler Building while doing nothing as he stood up and then jumped from it while deactivating his invisible force-field.

"Eeeeek!" The Chitauris who was using some kind of hovering vehicles immediately spotted him and began firing rapidly at him while J.A.R.V.I.S immediately informed his boss, Anthony "Tony" Stark, of the new variable appearing in the middle of the battle.

Andrew lands to the ground roughly, rising rubbles and dust as he blurred and appeared in front of a Chitauri. His hand found itself in its chest as its armor wasn't able to do anything as he dug his force-field-covered hand to its chest.

Though. He wasn't able to find any heart in its chest to pull out as he just yanked his hand to the side and watched as the Chitauri fell to the ground while its upper body seeming ready to separate from the lower.

Screeech!

The other Chitauris who saw this quickly at him screamed in anger as they fired at him rapidly which didn't do anything as they just hit him harmlessly.

Andrew began walking slowly towards them and then clenched his right hand as about 15 Chitauris near the area stopped in their tracks and then moved involuntarily as they all slammed at each other and clumped together.

The protagonist continued clenching his hand as the Chitauris all died while being clumped altogether.

He then raised one of his hand above him as he gathered large amounts of water vapor from air and then formed them in a spear form. He then willed it mentally as the numerous water spears all solidified and became ice constructs.

The ice spears then began raining down and impaled all Chitauri in its vicinity who wasn't able to do anything but just scream as they faced their deaths.

Steven Grant Rogers a.k.a Captain America who was fighting the Chitauris near him narrowed his eyes seeing the new guy but decided to not say anything to the man as any help they can get was definitely accepted.

"Who was it, Jarvis?" Tony Stark asked his A.I while firing his repulsor beam at another Chitauri and then flying again to avoid being surrounded by countless of them.

"Negative sir. The man has no facial features as his face seems to be covered by a fragmented glass-like surface and this prevents me from analyzing his face and matching it to anyone from the global database." Jarvis answers.

Tony didn't answer back as he just continued fighting with the aliens when a call from Fury interrupted him and he heard that a nuke was actually coming to bomb the whole city.

Andrew has an invisible force-field that has the appearance broken glasses attached on his face that hides his facial features. He's currently wearing just a simple long-sleeved white polo which he was already wearing since earlier when he was still layering it with a blazer when he's still in the headquarters of A.I.M.

Andrew then tilts his head as a plasma beam passed by his head. He then pointed his finger to the alien shooter and released a concentrated psionic energy at it.

The alien immediately bursts apart as he continued decimating all those near him to pass the time.

"Who the hell is that?" Clint asked Natasha using the comms as the latter peeked from the window she were in and then hurried to climb down the stairs.

"I don't know, he just popped up out of nowhere." Natasha replied as she finally made her way out of the building and quickly moved towards the Stark Tower.

Some Chitauri saw her and quickly moved to attack but some who was too close to her was then pierced by arrows which precisely hit their vital points like the head.

She quickly made her way to the rooftop of the Stark Tower and saw Erik Selvig looking at the wormhole with an excited expression.

Selvig heard her footsteps and then turned to her, but she was quick and gave him a kick to the face that made him slam to the ground.

Selvig groaned and got up while Natasha continued looking at her. The former saw the Scepter in her hands that was given by Clint and quickly exclaimed "Quick! Use that to close the portal! That's seems to be the only thing that can penetrate this barrier."

Natasha calmed a bit seeing him not being mind-controlled anymore as she quickly made her way to the barrier surrounding the tesseract that was powering the portal.

She then pierced the barrier using the Scepter and prepared herself to continue as she tapped her comms and contacted her teammates. "I'm ready to take down this portal. In 3–."

Stark did his thing and interrupted her as he told them that he got a nuke coming and told them his plans of bringing it to the wormhole itself.

Andrew looked up while waving his hand to blast some Chitauri away as he saw Iron Man trying to change the trajectory of a nuke and bringing it up to the wormhole.

'I'll admit that this is much cooler seeing it in person but the real battle begins here..' Andrew muttered as he started hovering to the sky and then spotted a Leviathan.

A Leviathan was almost as big a twenty storey building and was covered in metal armors while some small Chitauris rode it on the side.

'Hmm. Let's see how strong my telekinesis have got..' Andrew then lifted his right hand and pointed it to the Leviathan as he mentally pulled.

The Leviathan stopped in mid-air and then started to move beyond its will. Andrew continued as the creature slowly moved infront of him.

He then started clenching his hand as the metal plating around the Leviathan started creaking and breaking while the Chitauri at its side exploded in chunks of its bodies as they can't handle the pressure that the Leviathan was being subjected to.

Andrew wasn't satisfied with the slow pressure and then brought both of his palms together with a grunt as the Leviathan was then squished — its blood and huge chunks of meat falling from the sky.

Clint and Captain America who saw the scene was surprised while Hulk scoffs as he continued trying to pummel the slippery Trickster God.

Thor was the one doing most damage to the God of Lies as he made his lightning spread everywhere making the latter abandon fighting stealthily and was forced to fight head on.

By the time Tony Stark has already brought the nuke to the wormhole. Loki was already on the ground exhausted with the Mjolnir resting on his chest.

Hulk grunts in anger but wasn't allowed to attack the slippery God anymore as he jumped away from Stark Tower and landed beside Steve Rogers with a bang.

The Chitauri on the ground began dropping as if they were a robot that lost its battery and some Leviathan that was flying in the air began plummeting to some buildings.

Andrew who finished killing a Leviathan looked up and saw Iron Man falling from the wormhole that just closed. He then looked to the ground and narrowed his eyes at Hulk and the God of Thunder.

"I can't take on both of them with my current strength seeing as Thor didn't even seem that exhausted while Hulk was as strong and angry as ever."

At first. Andrew settled on the idea of snatching the Mind Stone away from their hands forcefully, but seeing their strengths made him calculate his possibility of winning and he was pretty sure that it'll be a tough battle where he doesn't even know if he will win.

He also arrived at the conclusion that even if he pull out the Berserker Staff, it'd still not be enough as he can clearly see that Thor and Hulk wasn't even trying in this battle. The past him would've definitely jumped on to battle them but he had become more careful since he died the second time and he wouldn't fight a battle that he has no certainty of winning.

Though. The idea of comparing his strength to the most powerful of Avengers seems exciting, he still decided to be practical and would just steal the Scepter when it eventually lands in the hands of HYDRA.

He hovered in the air and looked down at the members of Avengers circling around the unconscious Tony Stark and then saw Thor pointing his finger at the genius billionaire as a thin electricity escaped his finger and jolted the latter to the waking land.

Tony Stark talked to the Avengers about something called Shawarma which made the ears of Andrew twitch in interest as the idea of new food emerged in his mind.

He began salivating and couldn't help himself as he flew down and landed near the group. "Can I join you guys?"

Steve, Natasha, Hulk, Tony, Clint and Thor looked at him but after a moment, the latter laughed boisterously as he walked to Andrew and patted his shoulders with a wide smile "HaHaHa! I saw your display of might earlier and Thor was impressed, HaHaHa.."

Thor continued to laugh even though he didn't get any reply from Andrew and also got nothing from his facial expression seeing that the latters face is covered by an invisible force-field which made him look creepy as his face has no features and only displayed a fragmented mirror-like visage.

Steve Rogers walked forward after helping Tony to stand up as he stretched his hand to shake Andrew's hand "We deeply appreciate your big help. Thank you."

The Supersoldier didn't mind the featureless face of the man in front of him as he guessed that the latter was probably just trying to protect his identity.

Andrew shook the Supersoldier's hand without a thought. Natasha seems to think herself sneaky as she also went to shook his hand and left small devices in his sleeve silently which made Andrew raise an eyebrow at how good she was at her job.

Clint seems to also want to shake hands but Andrew lifts his hand and made the spying devices attached in his sleeve to float in front of him.

Gasp!

Thor gasped as he smartly managed to connect the dots "You woman dare to not only spy on me, but to also spy on the new friend he just made? Tsk tsk."

Natasha's expression didn't changed in the slightest as she said "Just doing my work."

Nick Fury was the one to intstruct her to do what she just did as the former needed to know who the hell was this featureless man.

The victim on the other hand was thinking if he should attack her but he managed to stop himself as he remembered that there's still the presence of Hulk and Thor there and he also knows and heard that it was Fury who ordered her to do what she just did.

"Hulk don't like spies do that." Hulk grunts as he spoke as the bits of memories of Banner's past experience surfaced within his mind.

"Okay okay guys, we don't need to make this big. Let's just go and apprehend Loki and then we can go to this Shawarma place that i just mentioned." Stark tried dispelling the atmosphere that was beginning to get heavy as he motioned for them to follow him to the Stark Tower.
