Experiment...

Kakashi was a good shinobi, he had blindsided the anbu that was monitoring and was contacting somebody. While I had read his file at reattempting to enter the anbu, I did not expect it to be for spying on their activities. To interfere with some of my decisions, maybe, but to betray Konoha… or maybe not Konoha… maybe just me.

He was probably seeking to pass the information on someone who could hurt me, but not the village… It was Jiraya, wasn't it? Well, by the end of today I would know. As the thoughts spinning in my head, I directed my attention at Kakashi once more.

"Do you know what I really admire about you Kakashi?" – I asked rhetorically as I tapped the side of my head twice.

"I suppose that does not mean my character." – Kakashi said as he made his classic eye smile at me and I smiled right back.

My smile turned into a frown as my Mangekyou appeared, blazing red as my hate could be felt even from Kakashi as his eyes widened slightly.

"No… I despise it. Your stagnation repulses me, makes me want to kill you… but despite that… your mindset intrigues me… not the one you have right now of course. The one you once held."

Kakashi didn't reply as his face showed that he was trying to remember what exactly I was talking about.

"When you first saw the Fourth's Jutsu, the Rasengan… you immediately started thinking of how he created it, how you could do it... You see, the fact that you created Chidori at a young age doesn't impress me. It is the mindset that you used for it that does. At first, I attributed it to you simply following in the footsteps of your teacher… but it was merely inspiration that you took from what he showed you. Rasengan is a versatile Jutsu. You learned it, and then, just like me, you realized something."

"It was a Jutsu made to fight… not to kill." – Kakashi responded as he looked at me.

"The Fourth Hokage was a nice person, even though he could be hard as steel when the situation required for it… he could not change who he was." – I said as I smiled lightly.

"…"

"You tried to make it more powerful, make it more deadly, use lightning to strengthen it but it failed… so you decided on creating something else on what you had learned. And while what you have created might or might not match the Rasengan depending on who uses it… it is the mentality that led you to create it that I admire. Where others saw a powerful Jutsu, you saw a flaw and tried to correct it. It is what makes you a genius and differentiates you from other shinobi. Strength can be gained in different ways, but that particular way of thinking cannot."

"I don't believe I'm worth all this attention you are giving me. I did fail in what I set out to do." – Kakashi said as he sighed a little.

"Perhaps… but humanity's biggest obstacle has never been their mind… it has always been their body. But I suppose that this should suffice. It's about time that it's spread sufficiently." – I said as I watched Kakashi looked at me suspiciously.

As I took a few steps forward, Kakashi tried to move but only his head did.

"What?" – He asked as he looked at me then at the wound on his shoulder.

"Poison…" – He said with a sigh as he couldn't change his standing position.

"Not exactly… my first attack was also my last. The moment it hit you, this was all over."

"Then why delay it so long? The talk certainly wasn't necessary."

"A little experiment of mine… and given that you didn't even notice it spread, I would say it is a success so far, sadly it requires a rather brutal method of injection, but I believe it to be common in some places, the pain masks it when attaching to your body… now, shall we see the if it will be a total success?" – I asked as a smile appeared on my face.

"GHAA…." – Kakashi screamed as he felt pain emerge from his shoulder and joints.

The virus had subtly spread over his body structure, taking them over and invading the joints afterward.

Now it was stimulating it, not in an extreme way, but slowly, giving enough to mutate slightly but not enough to make him go crazy.

"Can you feel it move, infect your bones, down to every nook and cranny of your body? It is changing you, it is giving you strength."

As I spoke Kakashi's eye turned into the Mangekyou, slowly rotating as he screamed, the blood-red color of his eye shining as the virus replaced his blood and pushed forward the Uchiha's prized bloodline all over his body. As he screamed, Kakashi's other eye started to bleed, and then so did his nose and ears. His body started to stretch as the platform started to crack.

"Focus on me, don't let go of your mind just yet. You are so close, just a little bit more." – I said as I saw Kakashi's mind slowly being overcome by the pain, his sanity slowly slipping away little by little.

So close, so close to creating something amazing, and yet it was falling short, for as much as I could enhance the body, the mind was another thing. It was something that needed time to be built, years to be solidified, and Kakashi had been giving up for too long.

"Haaa…. I thought you would actually succeed. The shinobi trained are fragile, the ones turned are mindless…"

To only reach this point even with Orochimaru, I couldn't say I was not disappointed.

Maybe after I experience Kamui, a way out of this rock can be found… though I do not believe Kakashi holds the potential for space-time in him…

As I watch Kakashi slowly lose his mind, I planted my feet into the ground, took a stance, and plunged my arm into him, completely absorbing him in a matter of seconds.

As I finished, I closed and opened my eyes as Shisui's Mangekyou was on the right and Obito's Mangekyou was on the left.

'I should really start gathering these in pairs.' – I thought as my eyes turned back into my regular three tomoe Sharingan.
