Body Flicker and a Date!

Shinobi were not that gullible… all the time. My little trick was up about 30 minutes after I was gone, but all was well. I had gotten what I wanted and got away scot-free, and with a new technique to boot. I read the instructions and tossed away the scroll. I couldn't afford any tracking seals or any markings to have been placed on it.

"I really thought that would work… maybe I am counting too much on the memories of a fictional tv-show… well now it is done and over. With some luck, it will all be seen as some genin's trick. The transformation technique is literally taught to every official shinobi."

I walked until I reached the orphanage, having changed to the 6-year-old boy I was originally. Black hair and black eyes I was someone who wouldn't be looked at twice… though considering the Uchiha's still roamed around I may be looked at a couple of times for good measure.

Entering the orphanage only the youngest kids could be seen inside, making it mostly empty and so I headed towards the most secure place inside it… the toilet. It was the only place where even the Hokage with his sphere wouldn't look, it was a very small room but I could use it without fear of anyone noticing me… but for my safety I still extended my senses to the maximum, feeling my senses reaching further past my previous 500-meter limit. Once I sensed that nobody was being suspicious towards the orphanage I started carefully remembering the instructions in my mind.

(A/N: Quick explanation about parameters. When I associate a stat with a rank, I mean the normal shinobi of that rank, not Kakashi or Guy. I thought about it and realized that I was about to put parameters for Jonin according to them but most Jonin just die from a good stab, so while their endurance(3) is higher than a normal civilian(1 or lower), they can endure much more damage: blunt hits or non-vital damage, much higher stamina, but damage to vital parts of the body will still take them down in one hit. As I focused chakra through my body, I was met headfirst with a wall, but something productive came out of it.

*Immense increase in speed depending on your mastery of the skill and the amount of chakra used. Increased mastery over the skill also decreases chakra drain.

That was a lot of Chakra to be used at once for most Chunin… not to mention the fact that I needed only 1 minute and a half to recuperate all of my reserves, most chunin had 1/100 or 1/50 of my regeneration speed. Too bad my reserves didn't grow naturally, I would need to consume some Jonin once my weakened condition had recovered. I only received 20% of the chakra my targets had for now.

As I used Shunshin again, I focused my senses and accelerated my thinking, leaving me in full control of changing the direction I was going.

Pulling a kunai out of my pocket I threw it in the air and noticed it slow down to a crawl as it left my hand.

"Interesting, the technique is simple but also…. *BANG* …draining. Five seconds is my current limit, but on the bright side I won't be out cold once my Chakra is drained." I murmured as I removed my head from the wall.

After a minute and a half, I was ready to go again. Trying to train the Body Flicker as much as I could before the night of the massacre, but I still had underestimated my body. System or no system, with every use of every technique, my body adapted to use it even better, the chakra channeling became faster and easier to use, my control improving.

At the end of the day, Body Flicker had reached level 9 and my control had reached 80. The more I trained, the more I could train. The consumption went lower and my training went on for longer. I didn't need to sleep during the night so for the coming days I trained without stopping… and this garnered results, preparing me for tonight.

It was terrifying, to say the least… at least from Kuro's point of view. I didn't know how close I was to Shisui's level but I knew that it wasn't simple training that got him to be so proficient with it. He had a talent for it, so talented that he probably maxed the skill in a few years. I may have only used it for 3 days, but I probably already used it more than other shinobi use it in 10 or even 20 years. It is a high-consumption, high-perception skill, that most can only use in a one-directional movement. Losing sight of the enemy on a battlefield is suicide. That's why most only use it inside their villages and others don't use it at all.

The other thing that I discovered is that my chakra regeneration was changing. Before it stopped regenerating during the execution of techniques… now it didn't. Instead of 17.6 chakra per second, I would only be spending 7.6 chakra. A full 2minutes of uninterrupted Shunshin, making me possibly the fastest ninja in this village during that duration. I would never tire and using Shunshin in moderation would enable me to fight even enemies much stronger than myself… but not the Raikage… not yet.

As I ended my thoughts on that point, I started to focus on what I was hearing… nothing. From the outer side of the wall that blocked the Uchiha compound, not a peep could be heard. It was a sound barrier, there was no doubt about that… but the vibrations told me a different story, blade clashing with flesh and about 20 shinobi waiting and guarding the outside perimeter.

Donning the disguise of a young girl I made my way inside with a jump. I was not about to face Itachi nor Obito… my target was something precious and the thrill of the unknown reward it would bring me made a feral grin appear in my face, one not suited for the child I was impersonating. Heading towards a section on the opposite of Itachi I scanned the vibrations, focusing on houses with two or one occupants and afterward focusing on the sound coming from each of them.

Waiting for a few moments while Itachi and Obito slaughtered the clan I heard the one word I wanted to listen to the most tonight.

"Izumi, come help me a little." – said an aged voice.

"Yes, mom." – responded a young voice.

Moving towards the one-story house I approached the front door and knocked on it.

"Izumi, can you see who's at the door?"

"Yes, mom. Coming."

At least I didn't have to bother with the mother… she might have a sixth sense of danger regarding her daughter.

As the door opened a young girl looked around then down at me.

"Ohhhh… aren't you a cute one" – she said as she got down and leaned in towards me.

"Why are you here this late at night? Are you lost?"

"Ah… Onee-chan, you are very pretty. That must be why that pretty guy sent me to call you… ahhhh… I wasn't supposed to tell you… he said not to tell you, what do I do now?" – I said as I looked down and lowered my head in embarrassment.

"Pretty guy? What pretty guy?"

"Ah… I can't tell you, he said it was a surprise…"

"It's ok. I promise not to say to him that you told me. It's going to be our little secret… so what does this guy look like?" – she said with a finger in front of her lips and asked with a smile.

"He looked so pretty, with long black hair. I thought he was a girl. I've seen him with you before nee-chan." – I blurted out as if I couldn't wait to tell her.

"Um, um, he does look like a girl, I think I know who you are talking about… let me tell my mom and I'll come right away."

"Okay, nee-chan…"

"Mom… I'm going out to meet a friend."

"At this hour? Did you find a boyfriend already?"

"MOM! That's so not it."

"You should bring him for dinner next time!"

"MOM! I'm going now!"

"Don't be late."

As she came out running, a blush and a smile on her face, I could barely hold my grin. This would be a night to remember.

"C'mon nee-chan, this way." – I pulled her towards a building only a little further away.

"I'm coming, I'm coming, you don't have to hurry so much."

As I turned to look at her I suddenly turned to look at something behind her.

"Ohhhh… Nii-chan is here to get you himself."

Turning her head instantly, her eyes searched for Itachi… only to get hit on the neck heavily and then dropping like a rock.

"Don't you worry, you'll get to see your dear Itachi really soon, and a scene that you will never forget. A scene that will give you a new light." - I said as my eyes gleamed under the full moon.
