Chapter 100 Splash of Water

After the bald man walked away with his son, Charlie picked up the ball and handed it to Rylan. Rylan looked at him with admiration. "Uncle, are you a policeman?"

"No."

"Why would the bad guy be afraid of you if you are not a policeman?"

"Because he did something wrong and felt guilty."

"Oh." Rylan didn't fully understand. "Uncle, you must be good at fighting, right? Can you teach me?"

"Why do you want to learn how to fight?"

"I want to protect my mum and grandpa from getting bullied!" Rylan's naive yet sincere answer made Charlie's heart ache. He was about to speak when he heard Lewis's voice. "Rylan! Rylan!"

"Grandpa is calling me. I'm leaving! Uncle, remember to come and teach me next time!" Rylan reminded him before leaving.

Later that evening, when Elsie came home and heard from Rylan that he had been bullied during the day, she became frightened. "Rylan, you must always stay with your grandpa when you go out, understand? And you can't bite people, it's wrong."
